It's great that you married a very talented woman that does not mind getting her hands dirty and helping build the house. Again another great video and appreciate you making and sharing. Considering how busy you both are and the time it takes to film, edit and then post.
😊 thank you. Yes, she is amazing. We are still engaged though, wedding was supposed to be just before we started this build but covid pandemic and lockdown made us postpone it for after we move in..
I guess the thumbnail will make this video reach 1 million plus views! I am expecting a mighty CNC wooden stair to match the lines of the house. Bust of luck on the build.
@@communitycollegegenius9684 I don't see your CZcams channel where you're building a bespoke house. I'm doing it now, and I assure you it's not easy. Back to the basement with you, kid. The grownups are talking.
Interesting building technique. I prefer stick built just so you can move interior walls easier if you want to change anything down the road, also running new electrical or moving plumbing is much easier as well. Cool house though.
You can just do drywall on the interior here anyway. Only difference is we use metal profiles for it, which really aren't any stronger than sticks. Not sure why he didn't.

@@lignumchannel You make superb job, and we love seeing pros at work! Keep videos comming 😁 Wood, metal and stunning architecture - simply perfect combo I could watch and work with all day ❤!
I know it's a cultural thing, but it feels so good to see a home made out of bricks and concrete ;) Hey "you" congrats on the 100th video, although I'm not sure I can recognize "your" face among all the people working on the project hahahaha. Maybe a still picture from all of you with name tags? ;) I love how your house is looking, great job, thanks for sharing it, I'm sure it takes a lot of time producing these videos.
The foreman also knows masonry?!!!! Is there anything she can't do? 🙂 It is hard to be a slacker on your crew when you have a foreman like that! What do you mean you can't lift and lay those blocks? The foreman can! Another great video. Thanks for sharing!
Incredible house, totally incredible, have watched all of your so far 9 videos of your house build. It's apparent how much thought that have been invested in the design and construction of everything, small as well as big parts of the house. I really like that You are combining several materials, concrete, brick, wood, steel, etc. Everything is so ridgid and solid as well. Very nice beams of wood, a nice touch. And very good work ethic, you are doing a fantastic and hard job. And finally I also must say that the house looks amazing overall with the design, an elegant house, that's for sure. Greetings from Sweden and keep up the good work!
By the way, I missed that there was explanatory subtitles while watching all of the videos, maybe it would be a good idea to make a short sequens in the beginning of each video as a text "inside" the video clip explaining or highlighting this.
Thank you very much Johan! I'm glad you like the video series and the house itself. As for the subtitles, you didn't miss them! They are new addition to the series and I added them while I was in covid isolation few weeks ago.. Had to use the time locked in an apartment.. But the idea is great! Short embedded text will surely do the trick!
I am really fascinated with your house build! I really admire how you build in a very strong fashion, what are those red bricks and what are they made of? I also am curious as to where the house is being built, as in what country? I really like your design.
Grabs the attention of the men of culture! In all seriousness though, tell me you don’t think she wears her outfits well!?!?! 😂 I came for the leggings stayed because it is a awesome build series and am really impressed with the work mentality of BOTH of them!
Can you please explain why there is no roof insulation? I watched up to PT. 11 where you put foam on the walls. I just can’t figure out why there’s nothing too keep the heat in from above. Unless I missed something you have your rafters, ‘Crete form boards (shudders?), vapor barrier, rafter shims, purlins, metal roofing. What’s the r-value of the roof? And the walls for that matter, I’m very curious about that wall system. I absolutely love this build. Very happy for you
There is 30cm of stone wool in the roof. It is part 8. of this house build series. I Guess you missed that part😁 thank you very much for watching! Glad you like it!
For those asking about the brick 🧱 used in this construction - the brick is called “porotherm brick”. It’s a very lightweight and low cost brick. There are many advantages in choosing this type of brick - like cost, insulation and construction speed as you need far less bricks than solid clay bricks for example. Aesthetically it’s not the best looking compared to solid clay, but in a construction like this, you will usually add an outer facade with another layer of insulation. I’m just curious what you guys will do with the inner walls - will you add plaster walls?
I like the rib washers used on the roof. I haven't seen anyone use them before. I'm sure you will address this but, what are you going to do at the ends of the metal roofing. Where the highs in the ribs are located. Flashing or something similar?
There is a fellow utuber Kris Harbour Natural Building that is doing photovoltaic , wind and water systems on his channel he would be a great source on sustainable power
Love the shot at 8:14 - really shows how effective that feature wall is, combined with the roof overhang, at keeping the intense sun off the full-height windows (at least, I think, when it gets glass in 😉). Amazing how far it's got, keep at it!
I have a question, but will hold off on it till the next video. Soon to be wife is a amazing woman, not afraid to get in there and ""get it done"" Now back to work, site Forman doesn't hold anyone back.
Hi, first off all thanks for all the videos! But I got a question about the inner walls. Is there a reason you connect them with the other walls, by hacking a piece of stone out and slide the other in the wall? Isn’t just metal anchors easier?
LIGNUM great videos, question: at 3:46 when you are ready to pour concrete bond beam, will you let the concrete mix flow down into the hollows of the clay block? (we never use clay block in this way, USA)
Yes, the concrete will flow in for about a half of the height of top brick ensuring strong bond. Bricks quickly soak water from concrete so it doesn't get the chance to flow a lot deeper.
I could watch your videos for hours. So much thoughts and so much aesthetics flowing into your build.
Please be more specific. Express yourself. Don't keep those thoughts inside you or only for you. We're listening...
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them! :)
Ahh, membrane on the rafters to stop sounds of thermal movement.. That was a nice tip!
I remembered it just in time;) I already lifted the piles of sheets when it crossed my mind..
