Glad the compression test came up good for ya! Coil breakdown has been the bane of my existence over the years! if these splitfires fail again i'll be going r35 coils I think. Also that permatex copper is the bomb! i dont even run gaskets on my exhaust just the permatex and never had issues :)
So good mate, yeah the Permatex Copper is the best, it handles the heat so well. I was glad the compression results came back the same as before, a great sigh of relief! I've since sorted the coilpack wiring harness I made out which lasted well over a year. Truth be told the earth backed out of the pretty solid crimp earth terminal from being a little on the short side and with twist of the motor. That was the issue all along! I believe it was anyway. It progressively got worse until the coilpacks were breaking up, not shooting a spark at idle. All fixed now and ready to go again. 🙂 Thanks mate 😀
@@JoeYates77 Ahh always good when it was something less sinister. Although in saying that we spent days trying to fault find a mates s15 with spark issues. Ended up getting an auto sparkie in and the earth wire had a break on the inside so was not visible. we were pulling our hair out for ages lol. Thanks for your videos mate, gonna rebuild my r200 with a 4.36 gearset and shim up the lsd. you've given me the confidence, looks pretty straight forward. Do you know if those lsd shims are also same shims you would use to shim the pinion gear as well? Cheers, Chris

Nevermind pulled it apart. They're definitely not the same. Hopefully the gears mesh alright with the pinion spacer/shim I got :-S
Also ABS R200 diff pinion and non ABS pinions can't be swapped. Tried it already! Different size bearing, just a heads up.
