    I might be a little late to the party on this, but on my ‘21 LE 8 passenger, I drilled a 1” hole in the plastic panel that you need to move/remove to mount the converter box, stuck the wires through that and used the rubber grommet to secure it. Now, all my wiring is inside, and I bought a $10 4-wire extension that I stick out the back. Closing the hatch secures it and keeps it from moving. All the important and expensive wiring is inside, and the cheap, replaceable wire extension is the only thing exposed to the elements. It works great.

    I watched a couple of other hitch install videos and they took tail lights out and body panels off for the electrical hookup. This is so much easier and protects the tow vehicle’s electrical system. Thank you!

    The good thing about the oem hitch is that it is made to fit a little further up towards the bumper so more clearance. On a 21 Highlander requires replacement of a piece of the lower bumper trim. Not sure about the sienna oem hitch. The convertor install seems pretty easy on this sienna since you don't have to remove interior panels. Thanks for the great video.

    I always leave the entire wire harness 'INSIDE' the vehicle itself, and when I need to use the trailer plug I simply let it hang out the trunk/hatch and then close the truck/hatch on top of the wiring harness. It works for me, and the plug/connectors don't rust out in the salt that we have on the winter roads up here in the North-East.

    Hello,
    I am hoping you can help me, as I cannot find anything about this issue other than a random mention of it with no solution. I Recently purchased a 2020 Lexus NX300 and everything seemed great, but I have noticed that when activating the turn signals, only the inside of the front turn signals light up and not the entire lightbar as I am pretty sure it is supposed to. I missed this on the prepurchase check because the inside blinker part still worked, thus preventing the rapid blink. other than that, they failed to put the body plugs in, but I quickly remedied that per your other video recommendations. I traded a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek that I purchased new for the NX with 25,000 miles. This is a car that I would like to last forever and I am like you in terms of everything working properly. Is this an easy fix or do I need a replacement. It doesn't seem like a common issue. PLEASE HELP! Thank you! Love the channel btw.

      @@TheCarCareNut Thanks man.
      I just found out, that it's actually 2018 vs 2015. But since the 2015 one costs much less money, I think I'm going with that one. If any specific advice for this model occur to mind, I would be more than happy to read that :)

    Hi AMD. I installed a same Draw-Tite hitch receiver on my '21 Sienna LE. Every now and then when I'm leaving a sloped parking lot my hitch scrapes on the pavement since the Sienna is very low to the ground. I've heard people getting lift kit made my Journey Off Road installed to get the van up higher. I too am considering the lift. My question is, would getting a lift kit professionally installed void warranty of my new Sienna?

      @robgrossi2368 Před 2 lety

      I have the OEM HITCH installed on my ‘21 Sienna ($1k option installed) and I’m *constantly* scraping slopes as you described.
      Toyota should not be let off the hook as their design is obviously too low as is. They should have accommodated the hutch to be installed through the bumper like other, more sensibly designed trucks. Instead, I’m fighting to have it removed and refunded. I don’t trust lifting the Sienna a couple of inches since it likely will scrape from time to time anyways.

    • @Kokaneeangler
      @Kokaneeangler Před 2 lety

      @@robgrossi2368 that is a bummer. I had no idea OEM hitch receiver scraped too. I thought it was just the aftermarket ones. Yeah I'm not happy about this to say the least.

      @@TheCarCareNut Thanks for the confirmation that there are others in the same boat. I'm currently sending pictures to my dealer in the hopes of getting my money back because it's driving me nuts. We shouldn't have to hold our breath every time we go up or down a slope.
      At the end, I had to deal with mechanically removing the middle seats (buying a 3rd party dongle to bypass the airbag warning), and now I can't have a hitch.

    Why is there such a difference in towing capacity between the 2021 RAV4 AWD XLE vs the TRD. I know there is a difference in the AWD system. The XLE is 1500lbs vs the TRD is 3500lbs.

      Factory tow hitch disables the "kick to open" feature for the liftgate. Because it blocks the sensor. AMD didn't mention this so maybe the aftermarket version on this van doesn't disable the kick sensor?

      Radar cruise control was throwing a code as well as a wheel speed sensor which is typical at 300k
      best way to diagnose is to use a minivci 1.4.1 cable for 16 bucks and read the codes but a 2.0.4 cable should give you access to almost all your needs goodluck
