    Buchanan was a genuine world class fighter fought the best of his era Laguna ortiz Duran watt many others Scotland should be proud of him and for all the tough times out of the ring you know this man doesn't feel sorry for himself and you know that being a genuine world champion was his life goal and he did it god bless him.

    The denial of people who have alcoholic problems, they all say that there are people worse than them. How sad!

    Low blow or not, at the end of the day, if you only win a fight because you got hit in the bollocks, despite being beaten up for the entire fight... then its hardly what i'd call a robbery.

    "Regardless of Duran maybe on more points "
    What do you mean: "maybe?" Duran was ahead on all 3 cards, clearly you're a simpleton who has probably never even watched the actual fight.

    Buchanan never asked for a rematch, haha, can you direct me to any piece of information which indicates that Ken asked for a rematch and Duran declined?
    Buchanan went on to fight Ortiz and Jim Watt, Duran went on to fight several non-title fights, neither ever approached eachother for a rematch, so you're chatting shite.
    Buchanan got dropped 15 seconds into the 1st round and got beaten every round from that point til the end, you clearly have no idea how to score a fight.

      Its well documented Ken screamed for a rematch . Also he was never dropped , his gloves touched the canvass for a nano second . The fight was scored 8-3-1 8-3-1 9-2-1 by the judges and ref . The refereeing was nothing but diabolical as Duran fouled many times in the fight but only warned once for a low blow . After the ref saw the replay he admitted he made mistakes and should of disqualified Duran . The ref never refereed another fight . It is also documented Duran regards Buchanan as the toughest fighter he ever fought , High praise indeed by the great Duran . Buchanan had 69 fights , fought the very best of a very good era and this was his only stoppage . I think its fair to say Buchanan very much wanted and very much deserved a rematch , its also fair to say Duran was wise not to accept one .

    • @GilbertSyndrome
      @GilbertSyndrome Před 3 lety

      @@tonyyyyyo Buchanan certainly never "screamed" for a rematch when there was a contract, as far as I'm aware. He also got dropped, that's what happens when your gloves hit the canvas.

    • @GilbertSyndrome
      @GilbertSyndrome Před 3 lety

      @@tonyyyyyo Also, Buchanan was way behind on the cards, so I'm not sure what reason you'd have for thinking it was fair of Duran to not face Ken again... Duran clearly beat Buchanan. The rematch didn't happen, Buchanan never took it to court for some reason...

    • @tonyyyyyo

      @@GilbertSyndrome There was one large crack in Duran's brilliance , his temperament . From the 4th onwards you can see frustration building up in him . At no point did Ken look like winning but by the 13th he was still very much in the fight and getting stronger with Duran getting to the end of his tether . For those reasons i say Duran was wise not to take the rematch . As for being dropped , i've never heard the term being dropped used without a backside hitting the canvas , Ken had a chin of granite , he wasn't dropped i feel it was more of a stumble . Its a shame the rematch never happened . I'm not saying Ken would of won but i think it would of been a lot closer . Coulda woulda's , we will never know . I think we can both agree it was a great fight .

    • @GilbertSyndrome

      @@tonyyyyyo Even Buchanan's most ardent supporters wouldn't claim that he was in any way likely to beat Duran in a rematch after losing the vast majority of the first fight quite clearly. He had a chance to fight Duran by becoming his mandatory but lost against a pedestrian opponent. You're talking to a Buchanan fan, and he was his own worst enemy. Basically, it was a flash knockdown, call it what you want but the keyword is "down", the opposite of up. He got knocked down. You're probably the only person who believes that Duran would've lost to a guy he clearly outclassed in a rematch Buchanan didn't really earn, but that's your opinion. I loved the fight, I love both guys.
