  • Your factory three speed (3 in the tree) linkage a mess? Mine was too, can't find neutral? Shifting from first to second have you ending up with a jammed up linkage?
Let me show you how to fix all this from under the hood, the entire fix will take you less than 30 minutes!!

OMG - thanks so much , 70 Chevy C10. Was my Father in laws and he passed away and it is now my wifes. For better than a year I havent had a solid 2 nd gear and almost never went into 3rd at all. I followed your instructions and now shifting like a champ. I just drove it all over town on main roads for the first time. Drove it to her work and parked at the front window, she about fell over when she saw it. Cant thank you enough for this video!!!!

You should also check the bushings on the transmission shift arms as well as the bushings on the shift rods at the end of the steering column.

Thanks for the video. I have a 67 c10 that I got stripped down and just set back together loosely without all the hardware.
My question is about the rod ends where they attach to the lower column. I have the rods, the heim joint bolts and the nuts for them along with the bushings in the levers. No Matt how tight I crank down on the nut the rods still move through the joints. What holds the rods to the bolts? Is there supposed to be a clamp for the rod?
