Man this guy needs to be more well known he is great. Never heard someone sing so well, and also be fairly contemporary like him.
This was one of my favourites on the album. Diplo's dip into D&B was a breath of fresh air.

This song's meaning is that he is having problems with keeping up with the minimums of life, treading water refers to working really hard to do something really simple, in this case relationships. The more you know.

I love alex clare's songs... they all start off gentle and soft and then the chorus comes...
and wow its amazing
I love the fact that the vocal talent is raw and yet classic, but unusually paired with a synth/dub backing where, in a more mainstream area of production, a voice like Alex's would often be with a more narural/acoustic type backing. It's off the beaten track, which just makes me love his music even more.
I'm so happy that I'm not the only one to hear it.

DieguezCreate actually Alex had a relationship with Amy Winehouse prior to her passing away. In an interview he admitted that a portion of the songs on this album were inspired by his time with her and letting go of that love when he found out she passed away.

My girlfriend ended up going to a different University as she wanted to do art and I wanted to do Medicine. She wanted to stay and do a smaller course where I was going but I encouraged her to go anyway! I really love her and miss her and can't wait till she comes back! I've just been worrying if the distance between us will tear apart our relationship and she'll gradually forget about me. Luckily i have this song to keep me going through my day!

My girlfriend sometimes worries that I'm not over my ex. And it's a little true. I end up referring to him whenever I talk about anything from high school. I dated him for over 3 years, and I just can't get him out of my head. Her hair reminds me of running my fingers through his, short and curly.
