Same shit here with my 02 qx4, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner and coolant won't come up to temp if it's colder than 50 degrees. Thanks for uploading, I now know what I need to replace.
MrLevi13 I don't think it is first gear. You may just start it up, and give it a little throttle to about 1500 rpm, and see if it goes off in about 5-10 seconds.
amy ropp. I am sorry, I can't explain the necessary parameters in a few short sentences! But, if your engine is cool, then your clutch fan should not be spinning at the same speed, as the engine! Resistance will cause it to turn, and make noise, but not to the point of cooling the radiator. If it makes noise at lower speeds, and then becomes quiet at higher engine speed, the clutch fan has released, and is not causing a drag on the engine. If you really have any further questions, or problems, I will be glad to assist! Please feel free to ask!!

Well i have a 06 Saab 97x and mine sounds like the engine is accelerating but I’m not going any where’s, is switching gears but it sound like it’s not it started it a few months ago like i said i have a v6 but it sounds like I’m running with a supped up v8.... please help...
@@McCuistian I can turn the fan by hand when the engine isn't running. But my engine overheats a little bit on the highway only. I have to turn on the heat to cool it off. I checked for air in the radiator and replaced the thermostat. I also cleaned the radiator fins. I guess all I'm missing is the fan clutch. Do you think it's that.
My 2013 ram is doing that same loud fan noise, I can turn it but it is a little hard, the noise seems to go away after I drive for 30-45 mins, I live in illinois and it’s pretty cold so I don’t understand why it’s always been on, should I just replace the fan or what should I do ?
It's a dicey situation; the fan doesn't always fail outright - but does that one have an electrically operated fan clutch? some of them do and I haven't taken the time to look that one up

Damn it Ben 😂
😂
Aeroplane mode
Ben...Ben.......
Ben!!!! 🤣
Im laughing with you
so that probably explains my 9 mpg and sounding like a school bus problem
MrLevi13 that depends on whether you are driving a school bus! Or if your vehicle has a clutch type fan!
+roadkill5333 well i drive a dodge dakota. apparently it is enganged until after youre out of first gear. found it odd but i wont complain

roadkill5333 if it goes off after that what does that mean, is it good or bad?

With the engine NOT running, can you turn the fan by hand?

Usually it if it overheats on the highway only that will not be a fan...
@@McCuistian what do you think it is
@@McCuistian I forgot to mention when I'm idiling it overheats a little bit
when your driving does it make a humming noise?
More of a roar than a hum... And it robs power from the engine
Come on Ben 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾😂
Ben sort yourself out dammit
Can the engine run hot because of this?
No, but it robs the engine of power and makes a LOT Of noise. If the fan clutch is totally freewheeling all the time it will overheat in traffic.
Wake up Ben!

Pffff...Ben. He pisses me off.
wouldn't it overheat ?
Not if its locked, it would be like a fixed fan except not designed to be one. These move a crazy (beyond needed) amount of air when stuck.
Ben. Ben. Bennnnnnnnnn
I changed mine and it dose the same noise what can it be?
Same
Alternator
😭😭😭😭😭
