  • Dear Sandy,
It’s amazing to think back 21 years ago, to our conversations about skateboarding and how Nike was getting back into it. You spoke about the importance of total commitment-about listening to skateboarders and getting the product right- admitting that Nike had come up short in the past. But you also wanted to make sure that we used the best technology and innovations to help skaters excel-because anything less would be a waste of the resources and potential we have at our disposal.
You witnessed a lot of incredible sport moments in your lifetime and your track record of helping athletes achieve those moments speaks for itself, whether it was in someone’s driveway or on the world stage. But you knew that if our athletes were going to be on the ultimate world stage, we had to put our best foot forward: the most cutting-edge innovation, rider-tested and enough flair that you’d wear it proudly with a billion people watching.
As skateboarding wraps up its latest adventure, we are honored to show the world a small slice of what you hoped to accomplish with skateboarding footwear. But we also look forward to carrying on your legacy. Fully committing. Listening to skateboarders and continuing to help them break new boundaries.
Thank you for giving us a platform to push innovation and creativity, all the while supporting and doing right by skateboarding.
    Love and Respect,
    Nike SB

If you really want to listen then please make dunks obtainable to skaters, there was a time where i would buy them off the shelf at skateshops but not anymore

Ya, but that wouldn't optimize their manipulation marketing strategy to look like they "care" instead that would require them to actually care.

They cant bro the shops are already getting overworked if you want a pair buy reps. its sad that its come to that and the worst part about is that some batches of fake dunks are better than retails now because the quality control for nike just isnt there

I really look up to Sandy, and have been working, lately with a couple people from Nike who met him. I want to do him proud and continue his legacy.

Glad I only skate janoskis and blazers... easiest way to get a pair of dunks is to just open a skateshop at this point.

Like everyone else has stated make them more accessible to skaters. Back 12 years ago I could go into my local shops get some dunks or some janoskis (that weren’t left overs) then it moved on to online and now everyone and their mom that don’t skate are buying them faster than the skaters

Wrong perspective. If Nike just would produce enough pairs, the world would be happy. But hype over happiness I guess.

Conspiracy theory; Nike SB created Cariuma as a heel company to distract from the way they're pullin' out of skate shops and axing staff.

Jeremy Knibbs rocks Nikes so this is a very confusing comment. Still though, good theory.

Nike pick and choose what skateshops they want to be in. Annoying for some local skateshops that just want to try and sell whats popular but stuck with something like ES

Obviously not made for skateboarding XD nice shoes of you're cruising by the beach, longboarding, maybe even miniramp session where you don't pop one single ollie. But I'm pretty sure those are gonna explode after 1 kickflip.

  • @humbertocarneiro07
    @humbertocarneiro07 Před 2 lety

It's really sad that skateboarders (I'm not one, but understand them completely) aren't the first target, as far as it comes to getting Dunks or any other skateboard shoe because of the hype around them (mainly because of the low quantity released)... And people still want to beat them up for ripping it in Dunks... But it's what they were build for: SKATING! I get it, collabs, exclusiveness, etc. But you can make plain Dunks (simple or mixed colors, regular ones,...), available to ANYONE, and if you want keep pushing the high priced collabs. Then you would keep everyone satisfied! And you'd still make a truckload of CA$H!
