- In the next episode of Not Here By Luck, we take to the streets with Cata Diaz in her adoptive city of Barcelona.
Originally from Valparaiso, a Chilean port city, skateboarding wasn’t the easiest path for Cata. “Where I come from we didn’t even have a skatepark when I started skating. We had to make our own ledge, our own flat bar.”

This video is a vibe. Really takes me back to my time in Barcelona even though I wasn't a skater while living there. Cata is great, a true role model.

I understand people get mad about less talented females getting sponsored but the reality is that she is out there pushing and progressing. It’s not purely style and it’s not fair to compare her to other female pros, all of them are sponsored and taken care of already. Videos like these will inspire other women to pick up a skateboard because it looks more achievable, and this girl is putting in the work on her end to do that part and push her own limits. It’s not wrong to acknowledge a majority of women aren’t at the same skill level as some men in skateboarding but she is good for an amateur female skateboarder and if you are to compare someone then at least do it fairly. Skateboarders love to support and promote equality publicly but under that a lot of y’all are insecure and jealous. Nike has the means to fund hundreds of skaters so this lady out here trying to make it for herself ain’t going to put a dent on your chance.

It’s not about honesty it’s about representation. But they are not comparing her to male skaters. Also they are probably highlighting these women skaters cuz it IS women’s month. Like yes, they aren’t as advanced as men but I don’t believe they are discriminating in a way in place of men

I don't think anyone is ignoring the skill gap between men and women. It's obvious enough that no one needs to talk about it. There's a reason why men and women have separate comps. So, as gentlemen and fellow skaters, I say we just give her her props for even stepping on a board in the first place, and move on. Personally, I'm more bothered that some people complain that skateboarding is dominated and controlled guys, when in reality no one ever told women they couldn't skate. Majority of females just aren't interested. It is what it is...

Barcelona skateboarding vibe : 10/10 ---->Girl attitude : 10/10 ---->Girl background history : 10/10
Girl beauty : 20/10
Girl skateboard level : 3/10
It really is much better than many girls but the problem is that the female skate has very little level, so she stands out but is just as good as my friends without a sponsor
