    5:21 HG intention to make it that way is to make it more strategic, i noticed that enemies mostly will prioritize the character that controlled by the player, so if we about to get hit by deadly strike we can swap to tankiest Character, since some enemy attack even tailing character

      I hope we can hv two option like switch placement (using F1, F2, F3, and F4 button) or switch camera angle when using skill (1, 2, 3, and 4 button)

      @@zetaxenos8888 in simpler words, he's saying the mobs will always more likely to ignore your teammates and headbutt you instead, so it's best to switch to tanky characters in case you need to face-tank the dmg

      it kinda contradicts your point though?
      you will use melee operators who already have better stats than ranged operators.
      the instant you change character then it should be a given that the former operator not generate taunt yes?
      so even if the two melee operator you switched between are far away from each other, the previous operator should take less damage then (unless there's already an incoming damage which is unavoidable) and the new switched operator should have the mob aggro.
      so having the FOV switch instead of the operator is better since you can kite enemies between your melee op and a ranged op from afar since the aggro would be on the controlled operator.

      @@qwp1026 For the second point it's at least possible to have both options in the game and simply let the player choose, the game already kinda does that, it has a top down view, the characters are just still there.

    Oh the game doesnt simply stop at references to AK, its way more than that.
    If you know Chinese, you will know that they mention Rhodes Island a lot along with originium like its an obvious thing you already know before hand. In the first 20 minutes, the game also introduced you to how Terrans got here. The races in endfield are also the same as Terrans since they are all just immigrants. The trinity Aggeloi (the final boss you face in the test) is most likely also corrupted by the "Collapsal", a phenomenon created by the demon of the north in Terra.
    You dont need to know the entirety of AK's lore yes, but HG is clearly actively trying to get you to know Arknights first before playing Endfield.
    Im glad they are doing this

    i didn't know about arknights endfield until today and i am so hyyyyped!! i love everything about arknights, except the gameplay >.< so having the same thing but in a genre i actually enjoy will be so guuud :3

      I'd love to see that honestly. I definitely get major Satisfactory vibes from seeing the base layout, (with Death Stranding vibes for the stuff like the zip lines), so there is some potential there for some chaos. Though it does seem a bit more restrictive, which might be a good thing for regular players who don't play that sort of game.

    combat reminds me of dragon age. how you have all your party out in the field at once, and how the skill have area indicator.

    Wow, endfield removing farming rng is an absolute W. I like that they can just add artifacts endlessly without a stamina holding them back, and then having equally difficult enemies to the areas, where there doesnt need to be powercreep, since your power is based on whether you build your team well, instead of being based on new gacha characters. It gives the game a way to have both casual and competitive players, as you can super optimise everything for max value and max damage, but also still play through the game as a casual unlike in arknights where everything is for the hardcore playerbase.
    I'm absolutely in love with the idea of endfield. My first impressions of it back when there was only a teaser a year ago, was that it was just another genshin. Now, I love it. A full factory optimisation game aspect, beautiful scenery and art design, a strategic real time combat system, and difficulty that is both approachable and difficult. Where it can possibly become more than just a powercreeping gacha. Super hyped for it.

    I agree with the points they need to touch upon but they have done so well with this game i love it, ill be a day 1 player right along with you you can bet on that! :D
    Extra note: there is a top down to building but i think the characters still stay

    I am definitely looking forward to this. The video helped me to get a good insight of how the game may come out, and i like it. And the references to the Arknights story itself is just such a lovely touch, i can't believe i did shed some tears upon reading the names. If HG keeps this up, i will play Endfield with such passion equal to theirs put into the game.

    1. would like to improve it a little more if possible.
    ○Character charm
    1.There are not many characters, so I would like to see more characters. andwant a character that can recover SP of allies.
    2.would like to see a character with a very large physique added.
    3.Attack method diversify.
    4.Add subtle differences to the footsteps of each character.
    5.would like to see more movement in the character's facial expressions.
    6.want a little more tension in the face and body.
    ○Field size and landscape
    1.Increase the number of enemies and natural creatures.
    2.Introduction of weather system.
    3.would like to see more places where I can listen to music.
    4.would like people to draw pictures, letters, marks, etc. on the walls of buildings.

      Yep just 9 characters atm for the tech test.
      There is already a ton of enemies in the world but as for natural creatures i can understand why there isnt many.
      You mean you want graffiti? I mean there wont be much of if any unless its in enemy territory if they get hands on materials to do that that is.
      I think evasion isnt for this kind of game but thats just me, maybe a movement ability with no i frames though would be nice.
      Faster enemies? They seem plenty fast to me lol.
      I promise there is like 30 ish chests in each section of map.
      Gimmicks? Like character gimmicks?
      Well some walls obstruct shortcuts so do you mean extra ones? Some are also used to get to items but i think....i understand?
      More climbing is fine as long as it doesnt take away from the premade ways to get to the harder to get to items imo, keep them hard to figure out how to get to.
      Billing element? This one just straight confused me.

      yeah there is so much stuff to add and alot of problems that i think the game is not ready its still need like 3 test phase.... I know that its great in early stage but at later stage of the game it isnt engaging with the world being dead no npc no interaction to others cause its new planet so its going to be building simulator cause there is nothing in there to begin with

    This looks fantastic. Time will tell how things pan out, but looks like a great foundation. Hopefully they're at-least somewhat generous with character outfits and give alternate ways to get characters. Arknights proper does really well at both of those, as well as incentive to build up dozens of your operators. It may be difficult for an action-based game with limited group space to achieve this, but giving low star characters good base/adventure tech might solve this.

    i somewhat wish that they implemented a similar mechanic as final fantasy (xv or VII R) because they only pen a camera when you switch or command a character to do things.
    i do love to see they took a little inspiration from there when they released the full game.

    Hope this surpasses Genshin, it already seems 10x better just from the fact that the "artifact" gear stats are fixed and not randomised, plus the entire party being onfield is an amazing addition that I really wanted to see inside of Geshin

      Contrary to that, I hope this game is marketed as anything EXCEPT for "the genshin killer" LMAO, that's how you set a game up for failure. Genshin will be THE most popular open world gacha game for the next... at least 4 years. This game needs to be it's own thing and not "the genshin killer" because it is NOT the genshin killer

    If I could join this pre-alpha test, then I would suggest:
    1. To add a role-based AI system
    2. Aggro system
    3. No swap position when using skills.
    Role-based AI system is to program 3 kind of AI algorithms that cater to holy trinity: Tank, healer, and DPS. Then allow players to assign one of this 3 roles to each character in their current team. This can add more tactical depth to the game while still easy to understand since most gamers know holy trinity roles. So when a character isnt being controlled by the player, it will act according to its assigned role. N if the player need to execute something (move, attack, or skill) more specific they take control of a certain character n do it manually.
    Aggro is just like aggro in MMORPG. Tank should be the one with the highrst aggro while healers n DPS must take care not to raise aggro too much. This way the feeling of playing as a team will be more real n meaningful. Not just enemies prioritizing the currently controlled character. That is weird AF.
    And finally to entirely remove the swapping place between 2 characters when using a skill. This will make positioning much more important, add more tactical depth, n give more meaning for teamplay rather than just 4 ppl scrambling around erratically.
    Lastly, i know all of this isnt new. They r all from MORPG genre. But that again, bringing MORPG gameplay mechanic to a single-player game sounds interesting n never before seen in a gacha game.

    I also wish for those ultimates to be more impactul, having bigger effect or lasting more, right now it's looking too simple for an "ultimate", unless those are ultimates from an E0/E1 character, I would be ok with that, with having an E2 unlocking a stronger ultimate like in the original game.

    NEURAL NETWORKING
    I think it could be better if you have option like long press to switch character manually on the field. Giving a top view of all character on the battlefield then It will slow down time then the camera will pan to the selected unit.
    I could like to suggest to add a mechanic where all operators has charges of dodge. The enemy hit chance will depends on probability. This probability can decrease it's hit chance by modules (artifacts, relics, etc.) or operator talents or skills.
    I could also suggest that AI should be semi independent to implement diverse strategy like: A long charge-up skill, the Ai should have a pathing to dodge it, or if attacking an enemy it will move from short location just for the right time for starting and ending of attack animation. This suggestion can be beneficial to players since AI will position the unit to the desirable location. Giving the players the efficient unit's switch rotation.
    So, hear my cook on my switch suggestion. Recap on endfield's switch. If a single tap is registered, a switch between units will happen but the camera perspective is stationary. Unit B position will switch to unit point A position; whereas A is your main unit and B is the unit you want to switch. That's the normal stuff in endfield right? So here's my suggestion:
    If you long press, like I said, it will slow down time, then the player has an option to which unit whom to be switch at. The camera will pan to the unit that has been switch. Unit A and B position is stationary, but when the player selects the unit whom to be choosen, the player's camera will pan to that unit. After the switch, the dodge mechanic will apply to A & B. If the player decide to switch B from C, only C will have the dodge probability since unit B's dodge is on cooldown; it means the enemy will guarentee to hit B. (Assumes B has exhaust its charges of dodge)
    CONCLUSION: I want to apply a mechanic for the characters to mitigate or nullify potential dmg by manually controlling them through switching. Something of a micro management for 4 units. It's RTS concept all right. As for the dodge mechanic, I could like to add parry as well but it's up to HyperMama to cook. For now, I suggest a simple jodge that nullify dmg and pathing for an AI.

    Just in case you didn't noticed, characters you don't control takes massively reduced damages, at a point where the damage they take is just for artistic purpose. They will only die if you're severely undergeared or character already have very low HP.
    Sometimes they even completely ignore telegraphed damages.
    Also if you don't engage an ennemy, allies won't engage either.
    Switching to the location of the swapped character might will most likely end up in the camera going wild when you're just trying to chain skills. It also might be a problem if the character you swap to is too far for some reason, for example if you use a skill to jump to an ennemy/dodge an attack then swap and you find yourself back at your initial position.

      Ye. The other members were taking no damage, I believe?, when The Trinity started its fan-chonk-laser attacks.
      It begs the question, however. Does the friendly AIs' attacks deal meaningful damage to actually matter, or their existence merely serve as cosmetic show and the combat is p much Genshin in disguise? So far honestly, from what I've seen in YT showcases, it's the latter. Yes, the friendlies total damage is actually noticeable across the whole battle, but if they're just there to pop in extra damage, what is the difference than having the enemies be bullet-sponge to account for friendly AI's damage?
      In DA, the allies take full damage and enemies don't necessarily aggro towards player-controlled character. Instead, each character has a lotta more skillslots (in addition to consumables) when it comes to surviving damage (also the obvious swap-to-location instead of just swap-in-out character when changing player-controlled characters).

    I totually agree with the swapping character part where they should just have the camera move to the character your swapping to, instead of just changing the character. because I feel like your party member are also important in the battle so having one die could be bad instead.

    I really love arknights for its tower defense. I would really love if a tower defense mechanic would be implemented. A great idea would be a raid every now and then when you would be attacked at your base and would have defend it. Kind of like Plants vs zombies Garden warfare's Gardens OPS.

    To me, the make or break thing will be the companion AI. I don't like the idea of swapping characters and would much rather have control of one character assisted by the others as AI.

    I like that the combat is more like an mmorpg. You have to aim the skillshot and the area of the attacks while you have to position yourself correctly to avoid being hit instead of standing still doing several combos. Not that hack 'n slash is bad, but there are already a lot of them, we need something different.

    From what ive seen im skeptical having the camera move to the selected character i feel it would be disorienting and would inevitably just cause people to fight with the camera.
    I think having the option to view the base top down or from following the character would be good. No reason to not have both available.
    Obviously cant play the game myself but while the AI definitely needs work. From what ive seen the bigger problem is that the telegraph for attacks is smaller than the actual hitbox so the AI just stands on the edge of where the attack SHOULD be but get hit since their actually well within the hitbox.
    Ive seen some people talk about climbing and stuff as well but the game isnt made for extensive exploration like genshin or breath if the wild, so those things dont seem necessary. However something like a ledge grab would make sense for areas that are just a little too high for a jump that you can reach normally. Like when kyostiv tried jumping up a small elavation to get the the base area instead of the stairs right next to him but it was just slightly too tall.

    Why I think I like Endfield more than a lot of current 3D Open world gacha RPGs
    1. Has an actual working AI party in the overworld
    2. Has an actual gearing system that has a goal for each gear instead of being braindead just farming RNG stats.
    3. Has boss fights with actual phases
    4. Go back to 1.
    Is this it? Is this the gacha I've actually been searching for? Like my ideal 3D gacha would've been Granblue Relink, but that's not a gacha. In anycase, coming from GBF itself, I cannot help but loathe the current 3D gacha gearing space, the artifact system is such a BS system. If the final product of Endfield is really like this, I might've found the holy grail I've been looking for.

    What do you guys think about rope climbing? Since this game has exploration elements and a fairly modern background, rope climbing would probably be great.

      Currently there is certain ways to get around and jump onto higher areas that i think rope climbing would break the shortcuts placed

      unless there will be a zone where vertical terrains will be a thing like tall mountains like kjerag, rope mechanic could be useful. But as of now, most of the areas can be traversed by walking and jumping, even at higher terrain, which in open world standards is not that even that tall to be traversed by climbing. Or it could be just be an archetype specific like the Hookmasters subclass having the rope mechanic like "Cliffhanger" and *"Rope"*, thus giving the importance of the Specialists in the game. Maybe Push Strokers will have the same mechanic as the OG arknights, but having the mechanic to crush boulders or insta-mine large minerals by blasting the rock.

    I want a quick access menu for party commands like simple stuff from Go here or gather around me or focus on healing to focus on defense to focus on attacking and auto gathering in case there is stuff to pick up in the resource areas and something more specific like heal me for single target healers if any to actions that trigger animations like swap with me which swaps positions with controlled character and ordered character without switching characters kinda like ZZZ's active blocking through QTE but all done in a slower pace or in a slow mo world like FF7 remake to keep the strategy element going.
    Maybe some commands exclusive to some classes like guards can swap and counter melee attacks for you automatically but is not guaranteed to trigger meanwhile defenders can trigger or be ordered to active swap and defend you instantly having them dash to your front to trigger a frontal defend which would reduce dmg to 0 for defender and stop projectiles and attacks from dealing damage to anyone behind the character. And push and pull characters can be ordered to stay away from you and allow you to ask them to pull you or push you to trigger tactical repositioning and doll and other decoy and summon user can be ordered to reposition, resummon their dolls or summons or to switch out with decoy/dolls and other stuff reminiscent to strategy game commands and arknights sub classes and command queueing games like again FF7 remake and dragon age and AI behaviour settings like for the AI in persona 3 on ps2 or god eater's AI behaviour settings.

    I'm really looking forward to this on release. I'm still hoping we'll get a console version since while I'll play it on mobile if I have to, action games on mobile aren't as satisfying, and I can't afford a new pc at the moment.

    ⚠️ *My criticism:* The base lacks visual intrigue. It seems like you'll be spending a lot of time with the base. But it looks boring visually. There's no aesthetic there. It's not visually pleasing to look at the base; in fact, it looks like an eye sore. I hope they put more effort into making the world look more visually interesting. Especially the base since we have to spend so much time there.
    As for the characters and enemies, I dunno if they can add some bloom to them or some kind of character-specific Lightning, but they look too dark and washed out. If you look at Arknights' 2D artwork, there is heavy contrast between the brightness of the characters in the foreground and the paler / darker colors that are subdued in the background. It makes the characters pop. I think the devs need to find a way to emulate this into the game. The characters need to be brighter and pop out more from the dullness of the background. Same thing with enemies and important visual markers in the game.

      This isn't a bright world so no they don't need to brighten things up. This is a dark world where messed up things constantly are happening where people are dying of a disease they have been trying to fight since the original game. If you're looking for bright, play Genshin to ToF. This one ain't for you.

    Seems like I'll be returning to the world of Terra via Endfield. Liked the story and lore of Arknights but the gameplay was just not my cup of tea so my account has been more or less abandoned, tho the game is still on one of my old phones just in case I get the itch.

    my main interest with this game is that all 4 character moves. example like genshin where only 1 character is on field. i like endfield solely because i can expect everyone to attack. so it felt less lonely playing the game. maybe smarter ai setting would be nice

    Played Satisfactory almost 300 hour and AR 60 Genshin. I'm afraid the Factory building aspect of the game might turn off other player when playing this game.
    If the Factory aspect is simple then it's good but if they trying to make like Factorio/Satisfactory then it's going to get harder and more brain juice needed.
    Regardless, this game is on my day 1 to play

    This is some really great info thank you so much! I’m also looking forward to Endfield! One quick question, how do the weapons work? Are they like Genshin’s hellish “pull for the weapon system” or is there rng involved? Or is it part of the “gear” you talked about? I’m praying it’s part of the gear and equipment. And also how do you lvl weapons? By using them or is like Arknights’ operator upgrade system where you get the materials and upgrade them with solid stats?

      For the test itself, the highest rarity weapons are redeemed from a special shop, suggesting they might be gacha only. Second tier weapons and below are craftable. Gears (artifacts, 2-4 piece sets) are entirely craftable, with fixed attributes but slightly rng numbers, and crafting is done automatically everyday. There is also insertable "gems" on weapons / gears that is both dropped from mobs and crafted, and they can be merged to highest level with rng numbers and attributes. However they can be swapped to other weapons / gears as you retire the old ones.

      Yea, I will not play any game with a weapon gatcha. I saved 265 pulls for texes alter and only got 4 penence, I got max pitty each time. If there is another gatcha on top of that. That's just plain unnecessary greed.
      You charge 20$ for skins, you charge for stamina to even play the game, you charge for characters and now you want to charge for weapons?
      They charge you to get stamina to play the game with the character you paid for. to charge you to be able to play the characters you paid for.
      It's like a ponzi scheme. Literally exactly the same as one In-fact.

      @@NoDFX_ why are you playing gacha games then bro, like i have played mutiple gacha games and all i can say is get luckier. rng is a large part of every gacha. Ethier they add more to the banners, or they add less and make it harder to obtain the thing you wish to obtain. If you can tolerate these mechanics, you really shouldn't be playing gacha games to be real with you. also, almost everything is made to make money in one way or another, gacha games is basically gambling for things instead of money.

    Graphics is beautiful, overall gameplay is alright, could be a bit time consuming with the factory building I feel like this is something to cater to those idle mobile gamers who likes spending less time with the game while having their automation system do all the work I can see it could be fun. Combat and world section layout are major turn off for me. I couldn't see myself play for long but I like the concept.

    Didn't get to play this beta so my opinion is based on watching others play it.
    I will give this a go.
    But honestly...
    AK has that "commander" perspective where we have a bird's eye view of the battlefield and I like that.
    Endfield seems to be going for the "soldier"' perspective where we can't see the forest for the trees as we explore the world.
    I don't mind that, I play games with those perspectives too, but it feels somewhat limiting.
    Like I'm trading a general's position with a soldier's one on the frontline.
    AK is a tower defense RTS.
    Endfield is a third-person hack-and-slash RPG.
    Those are fundamentally two very different types of games.
    I wouldn't be surprised if they end up attracting two completely different player bases despite the clear attempt to lure in AK players with the Arknights in the Endfield title.
    They only reason I'm interested in this is because of the connection to AK to be fair...
    If Endfield had no relation to AK whatsoever, I probably would'n't care.
