@stevoflipo11 the slow motion effect is achieved because the camera is capable of recording video at high frames per second. So when you buy a camera you buy one capable of recording in High Speed. The reason is most videos are played at 24 or 30 frames per second and a high speed camera such as canon elph 300 is capable of recording 240 frames per second hence High Speed. When you play it back the player will assume it's a 30fps video and you'll get the Slow Motion effect.
@Robfalcon501 Look at the video, it says 480p. If you switch to 240p you can clearly see a reduction in quality. Somehow you managed to record this video in 480p.
Just did some review video of this if you are interested on my tech review channel watch?v=-MwfQXU3Pq4 I compared the 300HS to my Canon T2i with a 75-300mm lens both have the same processor and both take really good pictures and videos basically it boils down to the 300HS is as close to a DSLR video quality from a point and shoot as you can get. did a little of the slow motion stuff in mine too with the pond i was filming , really nice and easy to use too.

My favorite part is that he duffed the ball. That must have been frustrating but in slow mo is very comical.
cheers for the review - just saved me from getting one of these ..now getting the canon powershot Ixus 220 HS.
@MatticusNicholas yeah i'm sure - this video you're seeing is in the lower quality, it's not 480p
Did you do this in a certain program?

0:23 I f*cking lol'd!
thanks for putting up an example though!
i have those flip flops
Are you sure this is 240fps and not 120? Because when I switch to 240fps it won't let me record in 480p, only 240p.
