I think Naomi's observation is correct. I think the show feels rushed is because they filmed for a 1.5 hour show, where before season 9 they filmed for the 1 hour they were given. Also, 9-14 have built in more expectations of the show, and suddenly we have less time for it. We don't even get judges deliberations which just feels WILD.
Yeah I don't understand how Monet thinks the show isn't rushed when the library literally had 1 sentence from each queen. Like what...
Hard agree--my guess is they wouldn't have cast 16 girls had they known ahead of time. Props to the editors for doing their best in a tough situation.

What is the difference between "Filming for 1 hour" and "Filming for 1.5 hour"? They always film everything as much as possible, all day long. I don't think there is such a thing as "Filming for 1.5 hr".
@@FloraWest they would've cast 16 queens anyways because MTV ordered a lot of episodes and we saw the fan reaction to multiple non-elimination episodes last season.

It's true. People need to have a sense of humor and not take everything so seriously.
The same people who complain about the show being boring and having no drama are the exact same people who send hate and report the queens giving them the drama
Part of drag culture is being shady and reading people. I feel like the younger viewers take any comment as an example of bullying because in the past generation we have seen a rise in conversations about self-acceptance and body positivity and mental health and all that. Yeah, words *can* hurt, but if a queen truly, truly feels hurt, they can always tell that queen in private that it hurt them. A queen doesn’t need their fans to fight their battles for them, nor attack other queens.
The meanness of drag queens is legendary, and unfortunately drag being pushed into the spotlight means that certain cultural practices are being scrutinized and criticized. It’s just another way that mainstream culture is trying to homogenize and de-fang everything.

It's because they only want the shade from slim, white queens. When it's towards them, the fandom wants blood. Because a lot of the "fans" are from the Midwest and don't have any black/brown people in their community (or not any they hang with) and they're self-hating (about being overweight because we know...).

Girl… Monét keeps acting like she doesn’t know why people are annoyed that the episodes are 42 minutes this season because “that’s how it always was before,” but like… it’s been SIX YEARS that we’ve had episodes that are about 1 hour 5 minutes long. If you include All Stars, that’s something like 12 seasons with 1+ hour episodes, compared to like 6 seasons that were 42 minutes prior to making the switch.
Plus it’s crazy that they decided to go backwards and cut the episode length for the season with literally the largest cast ever.
