Phil Hartman is in this skit. He gave the show heart
It's great because people always complain at the time that the cast is the worst ever, then after they are all gone and pursuing careers, people realize how genius it was in hindsight. I've watched this happen consistently. I think it either proves that people enjoy comedy from people they are familiar with or that SNL is ahead of its time. I think it's the former.
@@johnhinkleman9757 It seems like that even after death
It's more subtle for sure. It's not as in your face as New SNL. Not "as" in your face meaning I feel the cast had a wider range of comic styles and comedians. Though I agree with the point about people trashing whatever is on at the time sans a few comics. Back in the 90s people said it wasn't as good as the 70s and 80s. Now it's considered the best era or one of the best. In the future the current SNL will have it's fans and those who trash whatever is out at the time. Thus the cycle continues.

CLARENCE THOMAS HAS A CHANCE FOR RETRIBUTION FOR THE HELL HE PUT HIM THROUGH IN THAT HEARING.
Biden was way harder on Anita Hill, if you remember correctly.
@@jannahc8339 even being part of the commitee to attack this man is racist and disgraceful
I think attacking Anita Hill was far more racist and disgraceful.
the evidence strongly indicates that Clarence Thomas sexually harassed Anita Hill in a pretty disgusting and dishonorable way. Biden essentially treated Hill like a lying POS which TOTALLY helped Thomas get confirmed.
I'm no fan of Biden, I think the way he treated Hill is inexcusable. I think his work on the 3 strikes crime bill is abhorrent. Biden has done real harm to black Americans.
Trump is trying to start a race war and destroy democracy. He uses the N word and thinks black folks are unintelligent and criminally minded.
Biden is not my choice either, but at least he can muster some sympathy for families of deceaced vets, children who have lived through mass shootings, parents of children who didnt live, and isn't a shameless crybaby bitch who whines about everything, and cares more for his "ratings" than a pandemic thats killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, like Trump.
And fuck Clarence Thomas. He's a nasty ass misogynist and an all around POS.
@@jannahc8339 RIght...even the worst accusation against Thomas didnt even involve anything physical...nor did any other staffer attest to this behavior. Plus he never had another accusation of that nature before or since. Open your mind and your heart because ur coming off as RACIST.
@@jannahc8339 Do you even know anything about the crime bill? The crime bill was a massively positive thing. It contained the violence against women act, assault weapons ban, created registries for sex offenders, etc. Crime was a massive problem in the 90s and something had to be done. Crime has been going down ever since. I care infinitely more about people affected crime, then I do about criminal thugs and gangsters who get thrown in jail where they belong. Three strikes is abhorrent? How about one strike? That's what it ought to be. If black people don't want to be mass incarcerated, they should stop committing crimes. And it doesn't matter, because the crime bill isn't what led to mass incarceration anyway, and even if it did, it doesn't matter either because mass incarceration is a justified if there's a high crime rate.
Also you aren't winning any republicans over by saying "Biden is racist but Trump is worse". They hear your stupid talking points, plagiarize them, and then confirm in their heads "yup, democrats are the real racists hur dur, need to get off that plantation". That's what Trump did in the debates, and that's part of the reason why he almost won.
