Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. I remember when I first saw this character, and I always thought he could have been an awesome hero to do stories about. Like he doesn't have super strength or speed so his fights would all have to be strategically placing spots around so that he could trap the villains, and when he does his gritty reboot he can close the spots before someone goes all the way through.

This movie is the dream of being an animator is. I just finished watching the movie with my friends and as people who go to an art school, we have never felt more inspired. The art styles, the colours, the music, and let alone the plot??? That was amazing and truely an art piece.

The mothers speech to miles brought me to tears as I’m raising a boy myself. It was what sold this for me - besides the stunning visuals, incredible characters and cameos and plot. It was so chocked full of spider-man. All the spideys all the time!!!!! The spidey movie to end all spidey movies.

@@Lowkey-yb4nm he said that the low frame rate, which is done intentionally, looks clunky and bad. They could do 60fps if they wanted to but they purposely use a low frame rate to be unique and it works.

I just watched this movie in a theatre, and wow. I feel like this could really change the animation industry.
The way the story was told using stylistic choices in the animation was SO. COOL. Every frame of animation was so beautiful!!

Same thing happened to me. I got Bs in Spanish even though I'm bilingual. School Spanish is just different from home Spanish and it throws off a lot of Spanish bilingual kids.
Spanish class was different than speaking it at home cause the teacher was from Spain and I had to learn all the English words for stuff I already knew in Spanish like conjugations or whatever so I didn't get an A

Just came here to say I’m a 29 year old lady and this movie had me emotional. Amazing plot for a kids movie. My son loves miles and I also love how he owns who he sees himself. The villain is captivating, the young love story is beautiful and seeing miles go from a boy to a man in his mind and owning it is just inspiring. This was a great movie!

I once worked with a mixed race student who was half Hispanic. He struggled with Spanish because the way it was taught in school wasn't how he spoke it at home or outside of school. He was a slow learner and didn't like it, so he dropped the class. While I'm not saying Miles is a "slow-learner" (the kid's in a prestigious, advanced school) how he speaks Spanish at home could be different to how he's being taught at school. Also doesn't help the fact that he's Spider-Man and probably skips that particular class, which also plays a part in his grades.
To be fair I have multiple Latino friends who speak Spanish that absolutely suck at school Spanish bc it’s Spain Spanish that’s taught, which is pretty different than Latin American Spanish in a lot of areas

just got out from the cinema and this film has blown my mind entirely. i was a bit afraid that the sequel won’t be just as magnificent as the first part, but man i’ve never been so happy to be so deeply wrong. in every way possible - visually, emotionally, and dramatically, - it feels like a masterpiece. it’s not just something i’ve always wanted to see on a screen as an artist myself, it’s way, way more

Just watched this movie tonight at my friend's house on his huge 120' screen, Hands down one of the best movies I've ever seen. No lie the art, music, story, the voices, the characters just everything in this movie just blew me away. There were moments where I couldn't take in what I was watching, the colors, cause it was going so fast I will definitely be watching this movie multiple times. A++++, rating speak for themselves, Phenomenal movie I don't know what else to say about it, Just beautifully done.

I love how feral and raw 99’s animation and movement is. Spider-Man has typically been portrayed as a smooth and weightless figure. His personality really shows, how he clings so hard to his ideals and how desperate he is to keep those around him “in line”.

So good to see that Peter B. Parker finally has a child. It's what his whole backstory was all about and after he met Miles, he had the courage to finally move on and make things right about it. Even at the end of Into the Spider-Verse he was so hyped he finally taught Miles the same things he had to trough alone and questioned himself with "Do I want a kid?". Awesome development!
And have ANYONE remember that May "Mayday" Parker exists.

This movie went so far beyond even what I expected from watching the trailer. Absolutely phenomenal movie, and I can't wait for the continued movie when it releases. I rarely watch things multiple times in theaters, but this movie I'm going to go back again and again
It's literally one of the best animated movies I've ever seen in my life. Before watching the second part of the SpiderVerse, I didn't watch the trailer itself, and then I was blown away by Miguel's appearance to say the least. A character I remember from the Ultimate Spider-Man series in 2016 is back on the big screens after practically SEVEN YEARS, which is insanely amazing to me. And the fact that he's in my favorite digital style just got me, making his new design something incredible!
I love how much they've made Spider-Man about being yourself and sticking to your ideals and respecting yourself and loving others. What a great message.

In the best setting: a multiverse of different versions of yourself is a great setting for this kind of character exploration. I love that they lean into the theme.

Low and behold, it’s already 1 year old!!!
Everyone keeps telling Miles how his story is supposed to go but he wants to do his own thing
Heck he even discovers a part of himself that shakes him to his core; maybe his existence threatens everyone else
His mother even gives him sound advice being the man he grows into, being loved, feeling like he belongs, never forgetting who he is if no one else will look out for him if not his own parents, and not letting anyone tell him he can’t not belong anywhere
Nobody should tell you how your story should go, being Spider-Man is a sacrifice, bad things happen but it makes us who we are like the good things, some things are only just for us, the more you try to fix the harder it gets, sometimes kids needs to spread their wings
I think this was just as good as the first movie if not better
Love there's deeper context to Spider Gwen's backstory (a bit lengthy) at the beginning
There's plenty of the heartfelt moments with the family dynamics Miles Morales has to go through finding his belonging wanting to contribute to the multiverse so it’s good they don’t skimp on that
The visuals are top notch as usual and with the backgrounds matching the emotions our heroes go through like oil paintings or abstract art
It’s also consistently funny throughout I was smiling so much
Hip hop and r&b is also a big part of the soundtrack which actually might be more impressive this time
The Spot voiced by Jason Schwartzman is funny enough although he should've been a bigger villain and I wish they had gotten to the society of Spider people a lot quicker (that should’ve been the crux of the whole story)
But I do love how there's so many iterations of the character from the comics to the cartoons to video games to the live action movies to even the Lego universe and the Venom SONY Universe! Omg….
It's beyond crazy there's lot of stuff to look out for it desires repeat viewings to catch all the visual Easter eggs and inside references being so meta
So many of these spider people have had to endure loss and suffering to become who they are; no matter what incarnation, background, the character is always centered around tragedy
The twist at the end is quite a bombshell too
Again it ends so abruptly but the good news is that part 3 will be coming out wrap up this version of Spider-Man
The movie feels like the middle chapter obviously but the animators still love the style of certain characters whether it's from one universe or multiple ones
The slower moments do allow Miles to ponder his own journey however challenging it may be learning about fate, friendship, and the cost of being a hero
A worthy follow up for sure

It's been quite a while and I'm still absolutely shocked at how good they are.
I very honestly think they're the greatest movies ever. Before watching them I never thought I would ever say that about spiderman movies. But really, these are absolute masterpieces.
I watched the movie..... after 2 hours spent in the movie theater, for weeks now I'm walking around thinking about what i watched................... It's been a very long time, since I experienced a master piece like that!! Bravo to all creators involved in the creation of such an amazing movie!
The spot seems kinda awfully friendly like he’s not really trying to be a bad guy. It looks like he’s just starting to learn his powers too

Iirc, he originally gained his powers as a unexpected side effect of an experiment he did, so it’s probably gonna be one of those “I got transformed in a accident and didn’t have any way other than villainy due to the discrimination against my looks” things.

Glad someone else noticed how beautifully that line was delivered. So much emotion, intensity, sadness, grief and fear in just one utterance. Props to Hailee Steinfeld for how well she delivered that line. You can really feel Gwen's inner turmoil and insecurities.
Oddly enough, sony managed to deliver a much more realistic and believable female character in just a single scene where marvel couldn't do with all those movies and series. That's what happens when you actually focus on writing good characters I guess.

And being a native in that language doesn't necessarily mean that you'll always excel at it. I remember i screwed up in my Turkish exams during my school years even though i am a Turkish native lol.

The first movie was a PERFECT telling of not just the classic Spiderman story, but the archetypal hero story. Hero stories like Miles' are a call to arm for a person to become a person within their own rights by suffering through adversity, both outside and in. I love that this movie seems to be doubling down on that motif for me and actually reflects a tough time in my life where I'm suffering from my own perceived shortcoming of being unable to fit into other people's ideas of me.
Not enough works out there that explore that. To say I’m excited is an understatement
