    the overall cost of the Z06 (which you can't buy new anymore unless you find one at a dealership that has not been sold yet) you will loose/spend less. you are assuming that the F430 is still under warranty and that everything that goes wrong with it will be covered. remember the brakes are NOT covered and the rotors alone cost $35K.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 13 lety

    @mtf888 i knew a 16M was a Scuderia. i just wasn't sure this was one. thanks for the info. i will update the video name.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 12 lety

    every dealership i have ever gone to welcomes people that are just looking. but remember these are cars worth over $300K. so you don't touch and open the doors and just get in. most of the sales people i know will show you the car if you ask and they are not busy...even if you don't have the money to buy one.

  • @inycuda
    @inycuda Před 11 lety

    You can take the CCB pads and rotors off and save them for resell. Brembo makes a steel rotor that is priced reasonably. I am not tracking so CCB won't really make a difference for me. I could also just buy a pretty '08 with factory steel. Problem solved.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 12 lety

    how many times do they rev those engines? :))

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 12 lety

    @forzaazzurri14 the ZR1 is more dependable and less expensive. while it is more dependable it is not the best for daily driving or long trips. this is where the Ferrari shines. the ZR1 is very hard to beat on the track in competent hands. and even the magazines show the ZR1 outrunning the Scuderia. but typically they rate the Scuderia higher because it has things to offer the ZR1 does not.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 11 lety

    i have talked to a GM official. and as of now they will NOT produce another ZR1. but the next Z06 is due as a 2015 model and will out perform the C6 based ZR1. if you track any car you need not expect the brakes to last long no matter what type they are. the standard steel brakes will require both pads and probably rotors even on a Ferrari in that time. carbon ceramic brakes and pads will last 10 years on the street. but they also add about $35K of more to the price of the car.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 11 lety

    yes but do you also live on a dirt road?

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 13 lety

    @bhempy9 don't fault Corvettes because they are less expensive. the ZR1 will out run any Ferrari and costs about 1/10th what an Enzo would cost today. and the Corvette is also a lot more dependable. people think a Corvette is not as pretty as a Ferrari only because they see them so much. Ferrari limits the production of it's mid range car (the 458 now) to about 5,500 units a year. that is part of what keeps the price up. and it is within the power of the people to lower their taxes.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 12 lety

    @daniel2607 must be an extra cost option. :)) i saw one 458 that had too many options to even try to mention. the dealer told me it cost about $400K, the most expensive he had ever seen.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 11 lety

    wait until you see the F12 Berlinetta. and i wonder what they will do when it is time to make the GTO version of it.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 13 lety

    @bhempy9 a Ferrari at any speed will get you more attention than a Corvette. again that is because Corvettes are so common. they are so common because they are so affordable. i can't imagine trying to go 120 here in South Florida. i suspect the CHP are more forgiving than the police here. but you can do more than 120 on a track without fear of getting caught. and you have to compare what getting caught doing 120 on the street will cost to what 3 laps will cost.

  • @bhempy9
    @bhempy9 Před 13 lety

    @ftldrdl yeah you are right but I still think owning a Ferrari says you made it in Cali it's so hard to drive over 120 with a chp trap and to drive on a circuit track would cost you 120 for three laps I just feel Ferrari and slow speed gets you attention more than corvette and either speed cause they all look the same must be great working there if you do

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 13 lety

    @forzaazzurri14 i am not sure where you are talking about. all the comparisons i have seen show the ZR1 beating all those on the track except the 599 GTO. and i have not seen those compared. but at the end they say the Italian cars are so much more refined...so they win...go to commercial. the ZR1 is faster on the track but not as good on the street. the Ferrari is all about wine and cheese. the Corvette is all about beer and pizza.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 11 lety

    it's a Ferrari. it would be nice in any color.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 11 lety

    i can't speak from experience yet. but i will soon. but all the Ferrari owners i have talked to said that the purchase price was just the beginning of the cost of owning a Ferrari. you are right about saving money with the brakes but you will have to replace even brembo's even with just street use. but it will be cheaper. but even with all the cost every Ferrari owner i talked to said they would buy the car again. that is a experience i want to have too.

    @chrisraw294 Před 11 lety

    @Aman Singh, I also have an R8 V10 spyder, but the car seems not to be able to satisfy my need for speed. The handling on that car is a joke. The Ferrari has more elegance and bliss. I own a 458 Italia GT. Of you are rich as you say you are then why are of all things in this world you could be doing, are you on a CZcams video spreading hate? I enjoyed the video and found no flaws. Great work.

    i was speaking for myself. while Ferrari's are not practical cars they are very beautiful.

  • @ftldrdl
    @ftldrdl  Před 12 lety

    @forzaazzurri14 my attention span is longer than 1/4 mile. and those drivers were owners who probably have only slightly more driving experience than Stevie Wonder. i am sure even he could drive a car straight for 1/4 mile. i am not impressed. the true test is a road course. given equally skilled drivers the ZR1 wins there every time. the Corvette lacks refinement and fails in the fit and finish area. it is a race car for the street.

    The Z06 is an example. They will produce another C7. Are you assuming a car was tracked hard? Pads, maybe. Rotors, for a lightly driven sub 10k car? Don't see it. Not even at at 20k.

    @bhempy9 we actually have a place here called the Toy Store that specializes in exotic cars. and they are toys. they have no practical purposes. people buy them to show they are successful enough to be able to pay that much money for a car that can only carry 2 people. and yes, i want one! and yes, California has nothing on Florida except taxes. California has far too many taxes. Florida has almost none.

    • @ftldrdl
      @ftldrdl  Před 10 lety

      i agree with you about the Enzo and the FF. but the California is a beautiful car though a little too feminine for my taste. and perhaps you should take a look at the F12 Berlinetta. the lines are extreme but i think they will grow on you as they did me. thanks for watching.

    @bhempy9 i agree. the Ferrari PARKED will get you more attention than a Corvette. but that is what the Ferrari is all about. it says, "look how wealthy i am"! and that's OK too. i have to admit i want one too. but they are as problematic as they are beautiful. do a little googling and you will find out how much mechanical and electronic trouble they actually do have. the Corvette is a real daily driver. and a ticket for doing 120 will cost you a lot more than $120.00

    430's are kind of boring to look at. You really need something to break up the swooping lines. I was thinking of some miniature naked lady mud flaps and a bumper sticker that says "Haulin ass". @forzaazzurri14 pizza, as it is known in America, was never Italian. only the slightest part of what was Italian remains in American pizza. our culture is different but no less than yours. and i have watched both videos and TV shows where they compared the ZR1 to the 458. and the ZR1 wasted the 458 on the track. but the 458 definitely had more build quality and more comfort that the ZR1. the 458 is without a doubt a better built car. but the ZR1 is faster.
