Great example for using this scale is Miles Davis on "Starpeople" from 1982, and also all his later versions of this tune.

Thanks for turning me on to Harry Sweets Edison. That's the sound and style I would like to emulate.

So I played around with this scale and alternating between starting on various degrees in them. I had a blast! It even works on some swing tunes as well. You're my favorite trumpet teacher on CZcams. My name is Joshua, btw.

Jeff: Obviously you are left handed. I am
also, I’ve never seen a trumpet with the valves on the left. Most people do not realize what it’s like for a leftie in a right-handed world. Love your jazz improv!

It’s actually the video, presenting me playing backwards (or forwards, if you’re left-handed!) haha! I recently noticed this when I edit my videos in Final Cut Pro so now I have to reverse them, so it shows me playing right handed (I’m actually right handed. ). Thanks for watching!

Although left handed I am using my right hand to play the trumpet.
I don't even know now if I would have progressed faster using my dominant hand.

Dude you are freakin smooth, disregard the comment about the horn, I'm trippin. But would love to know what horn you're playing on.

Absolutely loving this tutorial, BTW what horn is that? Is your bell on the right side or is that just my imagination.

I am glad you are finding it helpful! Thanks for checking it out. Sometimes when I shoot videos, my camera will automatically reverse the angle for some reason!

Hey Jeff - I have been messing around with this blues and having a blast with it. Also downloaded the licks you put up yesterday (or two days ago) and they are great to play as well.
