How to Install a Remote Starter on a Dodge Ram - 2009 - 2017

In this video I show you how to install a plug and play remote start system in your Dodge Ram truck and how to program your factory fob to remote start your truck. This is arguably one of the cheapest and quickest mods I've done to my truck since owning it. This particular kit is for 2009 to 2012 Ram trucks, I've included a link below for 2013 to 2017 RAM trucks as well. You should be able to find similar kits for other model years. Total install time shouldn't take more than 10 minutes for a complete novice as there is no splicing required.

Finally a clear and consist video. I just watched flashlogic 10 and it was instruction to unplog obd port and other stuff. You have exactly what I have in my Flogic 4 kit.

@@DeancentGarage was this two way remote and is it that is for viper two way remote with out the key fob regular key too??
This is just for the factory key fob. To use a viper two-way you would have to install a viper system.

Just got one myself, thank you for the install info & great video! From what I've read on the reviews one of the negative things about this system is the installation instructions were something that were not included and you had to contact them for?? Honestly who cares that it don't it seems simple enough, and I like the fact it is plug and play. With your video it should give anyone the confidence to attempt the install on their own truck. The price is super attractive, and it looks to be fairly well put together. Have you had any hiccups? I will have to check out your Turbo 944 build!
No problem and thank you. I received install instructions with mine, would be a bit odd to send the kit without instructions. After this video though you're right, you shouldn't need the instructions as it is very straightforward.
I've had it since September 2019. I'm sure I've used it over 100 times now, not a single issue.

Question, the last thing you did with pushing the brake down twice to put truck into drive, is that something you have to do each time you remote start it? Not a big deal just checking,

I learnt you don't have to double press the brake. Just press once to put in drive and good to go.

Glad to hear you're install went smoothly! Typical range with the factory fob with a clear line of sight is probably around 300ft.
Will this interfere with bully dog program.
Do you know if there is a way to leave the truck running and get out with your keys? I just installed mine tonight. Super easy thanks to your video. But I didn’t know if maybe that was a feature as well?
Not too sure, anytime I jump out for a minute and wanted to leave the truck running, I just remote start it again.

Hey! Quick question. So I’m trying to install this in my 2013 ram 1500. Did you have send this program out in order to get it re program? Other videos say that the programmer needs to be sent out? Is this true?
Just message the seller on eBay right after you purchase and give them your order ID and vehicle info. They will program before sending the unit to you.
I ordered flashlogic plug and remote starter kit, but mine came up without a key fob ,my truck has window side lock and unlock. So I need some other kit as well in order for it to work. Do u know any flashlogic kit compatible with it . Or I am out of luck
This kit uses the factory fob. Message the seller on eBay, he may have a solution for you.

No sensor for the fob. Just program the remote starter system as seen in the video 👍

Pick your year and submit the details they ask for. Wether you have single, quad or crew it doesn't matter.
if the car comes without a keyless entry fob, it only comes with a transponder key, it can be possible to program a fob key and then install this kit? best regards.

I don't understand the unlock buttons part when you talked about the takeover mode
I was just saying once you've hit the lock button 3 times to start the truck, you have to press unlock once to get in. I just mentioned it after I had already unlocked to get in.

Another question : can this device be damaging the ram central system ?
I have not experienced any Ill effects in my 09 ram. I also have not heard of anyone else having issues with it. As far as I know it just controls the ignition.

Hey so i got it today but for some reason my engine will only start with the remote start it does not start manually like with the key in
I would guess something at the ignition is not plugged in correctly. Did you plug the ignition where the fob plugs in to the T harness? If yes, unplug it from the T harness and plug it back in.

@@maiquelcastro1115 I would go through everything again. Carefully check all the wires as well. Something isn't making a connection somewhere.

I have a stupid question. That just flashes the FOB, and not the whole PCM, correct?
Nothing existing in your truck gets flashed. The new flashlogic device you need to purchase is flashed by the seller specific to your truck so it can talk to your truck.
Then you program your fob to the new flashlogic device so you can use your existing fob to start the truck.
@@DeancentGarage Thank you. Okay, I was curious because I have a tune on my truck for a cam and other work and the timing and everything changed from factory. I didn't want to accidentally flash it back to stock and lunch a motor or something.
You'll be good, this just adds a remote start function.

Working great still, no issues. I actually bought a similar kit from the same company with same programming instructions for my wife's 2013 civic. Installed that one 3 weeks ago and has also worked flawlessly.
