A perfect score? No inventory issues? Bugs? Crashes? No maps? No copy/paste aggravation? No issues with loading/transition screens? Sounds like somebody would rather ignore the shortcomings than lose their early access to review copies of games.
Yeah you described every single PlayStation exclusive game reviewed. Now it’s obvious since it’s an Xbox game lol.
Oblivion und Starfield both have great Quests. Thats the Key.
I don't understand the hate around starfield, I'm loving this game so far, it is absolutely immersing me in that reality. For me it's game of the year, period.
so u get immersed in multitudes of loading screens and barren worlds? Stupid AI.... i could go on
@@Azhrei2000put some serious hours in this game and you will see this game is very immersive and in my opinion the best Bethesda. In the first 30 hours I never expected to say this ever and I expected to quiet after finishing the main missions. But now I am loving this game so much. This is a game which looks bland because it is so large but it is so rich with lore, etc. This is by far the biggest game of Bethesda (not looking at generated planets but purely content)
I’m loving the game so far 😊
Yep same
Finally a positive review amongst the deluge of haters
Not seeing enough people praising the dialogue in this game. It’s great!
Comparing to what? Forspoken?
@@sunderland666 Where did they say the words "compared to?"
@@jimmythegamer2231It went over your head

The casual chat comes across as a promo piece for the game, and you seem to be using mostly / all trailer footage, not your own footage. Why?
I don't like the washed colour look.
To clarify. I like starfield as a general game to play and enjoy. But it is not the same quality of design and world building and interaction and gameplay that skyrim is and has.
Not exactly fair because Skyrim has the benifit of DLC and years of mods but even if I compare the Vanilla Skyrim with Starfield. Its very clear to me that Starfield is just built for quantity over quality of gameplay.
Not that its a bad game. I enjoy it, but it would be dishonest and intellectually deficient for me to say it holds up to Skyrim.
Now as for what people ENJOY playing a Space open world game over a fantasy game world sure. Preferences are there along with bias. But gameplay and ingame quality is objectively worse in starfield minus the number of bugs.
Its an 8/10 game to me until DLC, and added content and quality of life updates a lot here. Or until mods allow us to fix with A LOT of what irks me about the game.
But I'm just mostly dissapointed with the game because the potential is huge with starfield and it really would only require a handful of changes and additions to the weapons, armor and melee combat options and customization for all 3
Along with updating the Starborn Ship, and armor perks and upgrades. And adding starborn special guns and melee weapons.
Couple that with changes to the economy values of trading and selling to alleviate horrendous selling values and market vendors credits cap.
I'd also buff experience gain from higher difficulties by at least 8x the normal experience gained.
I’ve heard conflicting reviews but this is why I must play for myself. Every game isn’t for everyone so I take negative reviews with a grain of salt. Thank you for your review on this. I’m excited to jump in.
Couldn't agree more with what you've said here.
I've also seen really conflicting and honestly contradictory information and reviews. But I must play for myself before I make assumptions and decide I don't like something or that something is bad.
Not everyone likes everything and nothing is perfect. But I am still really excited to play this game 🎉
This ^
Every negative review has been definitely proven to be biased.
Just google IGN international scores for this.
IGN and GameSpot have been bought out.
The game is great. Bunch of grown men crying about a few loading screens. I haven’t ran into an invisible wall once because you only find one when you try to. These people are losers that hate seeing others have fun
This is my 1st Bethesda game, so i really had no expectations no more than being in space & goin to different planets, so maybe thats why i like the ga.e so much

I appreciate that Dan Stapleton at least pretended to hide his bias. I'm guessing he determined his 7/10 a few months ago. But, in the small part of his review I read, he at least made the effort to find things about Starfield that are indeed issues and pretend that those determined the 7/10.
Not giving Starfield a 4/10 was genius - then everyone would know what's going on.
Thanks, Dan!
Hide his bias? Dan's tweets for the last 3 years since it was announced as an Xbox exclusive beg to differ.
@@Patrick462 I'm curious what Dan would have given Starfield if he had only played the game for 10 hours. Probably a 2/10.

Love this game it doesn't hold your hand. You just go out there and explore 👏 👏 thank you Bethesda reminisce
Anyone who loved Skyrim and fallout in general should enjoy this game. They flat out said they weren’t going for the best graphics ever and it still looks good. It’s all about the storylines and quests. I think at the start of the game it is very overwhelming because of the depth. There is wayyy more to do than you even realize at first and it feels like you’re just a little lost. After playing for the past two days I am just now starting to actually enjoy it and appreciate it. And whoever compares this to no man’s sky.. you should be ashamed of yourself. Sure it’s not for everyone, but as a die hard elder scrolls fan and fallout fan.. I place this just below Skyrim for now. I have a feeling I might bump it up when I figure out how to do everything there is to do
I suspect one of the reasons they were pushing the exploration so hard even though it's not as prominent is that they couldn't discuss the juicy stuff, ie the quests and characters, without spoilers.
Best game since Oblivion, absolutely agree.
finally a new game gets reviewed good for once
It's not that rare. Baldur's Gate 3, Zelda, Diablo 4 - nearly every new big game in the last months (except of Redfall) was reviewed pretty good, if not exceptional.
Boulders Gate 3
It has an amazing metacritic
Xbox finally competing! Gaming is back the Big 3 have really did an awesome job in 2023 too many bangers!
"Best Bethesda game" is the new "best graphics..for a Switch "
Bethesda has literally made some of the highest rated and most played games of all time, Skyrim being the number one example. That game, along with stuff like Oblivion and Fallout 3, are regarded as some of the greatest games ever made. But sure, let's follow revisionist history instead.
Best game I've ever played. 30 hours in. I will not be buying another game for years. Thanks Bethesda. This review may sound too good to be true but it is actually true. 10/10 game for me. Don't listen to the haters.
Edited. I'm now 60 hours in. A few poor design choices regarding npc graphics and companion design. But my rating is still 10/10. The content volume and narrative through the many stories keeps it at my favorite game of all time.
Ahhh! Yesss! What I wanted to read in here. 👊
Começou bem, 5 estrelas!
Great review boys!
It doesn't have to do much to be the best Bethesda game though.
Looks like modders will have to improve the game.
There is no HDR.... at least yet. Playing now is like wandering through a gray fog

78% on Steam now. Game is a solid 7/10.
Same as every Bethesda game. But wait two years until they release a few dlcs. I only started fallout 4 a few weeks back with all additional content and it's unreal addictive especially with mods
It's a 7 to some, a 10 to others. It's sitting at an 86 on open critic. Which is right in the middle of those scores and makes sense for a game people either love or think is mid.
Half of those negative reviews on Steam are from people who are giving a negative review solely for technical issues on PC, and even more of those negative reviews are from those who played Starfield for less than 10 hours. Once you look at the Steam reviews for Starfield from those who actually played at least 10 hours of the game, you will notice that 85% of Steam reviews are positive, which is more fitting.
@@jimmythegamer2231 Agreed. I'm playing now. I'll be honest though. Graphics in some areas are bad and lighting is like a 360 game. Stand in a room on a base and it's all lit equally. Not even a hint of shadow. I just landed at the first city.

Does it have aim assist? Sure looks like it does, would be awesome.
saying this game is the best Bethesda title since Oblivion is pretty strange, seeing as how Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 are all better than Oblivion or Starfield.
i believe "since oblivion" did not cout morrowind or early games, Its like after oblivion release so Morrowind is prior.
But yes i like both oblivion and skyrim for different reasons, i find skyrim less buggy and better in some aspects but somehow oblivion has his unique magic like the shivering isles that was an amazing expansion.
About starfield i cant speak since i have not the PC to play it
Your opinion..... starfield is still objectively better than all those
Its just ok, I got bored 50 hours in but at least it was on gamepass
I think this might be the reason for me too buy and xbox. What way is the cheapest way for me??
Series S. Limited in its graphic capabilities but it’s the cheapest way to go to the dance.
There's cloud gaming. Maybe try it and see if you like it through the cloud before you buy a console
A gamepass subscription for 17 bucks a month is the cheapest way. If you have good internet you can stream it on a potato pc.
Not sure if I can call this a review.......
Only complaint? Still using a centered camera for talking to npcs
LOL. The best Bethesda game in 20 years ? Which game were you playing ? It's all the last 20 years' game idea's rolled into one with nothing new to say. The gunplay could have beed hacked (it looks like it) from any other shooter. The whole game is just rehashed crap.
Glad I paid $34 for the premium edition upgrade thanks to xbox game pass ultimate i'm enjoying starfield on my xbox series x.🥂🤭
Interesting, many are giving around 3.5/5 or 7/10
Exactly. You can tell which reviews MS greased.
So you gonna ignore all the 9s and 10s? Lol. Don't be biased, bro. Every ign besides the US gave it 9s and 10s, and the guy US chose to review the game named Dan Stapleton has a serious grudge with Xbox. If yourr truely "unbaised", look into it. Im not knocking anyone's review. We all can have an opinion, but get real, there's way more positive reviews than are negative. That's just fact. All I see is people cherry picking the ones that fit their narrative.
@@gawdtheblessedone4681 not sure who this is directed to, I'm just observing the difference in scores.

@@Jash0192there is no big difference tho. Over 20 9/10s and only 2 7/10s
Totally disagree. Unrealistic NPC’s in the way they behave.(point your gun at them. They do nothing no reaction.), terrible inventory system, leaving you encumbered quickly, feels like you’re constantly fast traveling instead of actually exploring, no local map for the towns, first 10 hours are pretty slow, and lots of other little things. It’s a seven out of 10 best. Definitely no oblivion or fallout 3. Fallout four was better than this in my opinion.
The game is good but too much loadings and too much menus.
Terrible review. 5 minutes in, and I still had no clue wtf is this game about.

Repetative looty shooty, boring radiant quest loading screen fest.
Rubbish! Typical bethesda, lame old engigne with a fresh coat of bland 16 times the detail bs paint.
Massive step down from skyrim. Totally fragmented world, most planets are bland lifeless little instances zones. No actual open world to travel around. No real rpg elements really. Npcs are uninteresting and AI is a joke. Feels far less of a real world than previous Bethesda games. Like 4 loadings screens from getting to a planet and bsck on ship its sad. The whole game is just little instaced boxes that you teleport to. Ship is largely useless. No space travel and space exploration in a game advertised as a space epic rpg. Its a looter shooter with little instaced zones totally disjointed from everything.

7/10 IGN and GameSpot, def not a masterpiece.
This is the most overhyped game of the year, with Microsoft desperately trying to save Xbox and pouring lots of money on marketing.
7/10
Looks very boring
Nope, Skyrim is the best
Morrowind is Bethesda's magnum opus, followed by Fallout 3, which led to the hybrid of those two games in Skyrim. Oblivion is easily the worst of their oeuvre and it's all been downhill since Fallout 4 released, which was overrated, reheated basura.
If IGN and GameSpot are giving this thing a 7 that means it's more like a 5, and what can be surmised from their reviews is that Bethesda have managed to make a game ostensibly about space exploration feel like space is just a world map with markers on it where the vastness of the cosmos has been reduced to a series of loading screens. This was so self-evident from the reveals. Bethesda peaked long ago and I can't see that ever changing as long as their core narrative and gameplay teams and director remain the same.
I'll wait for Obsidian's contribution instead.
I mean I loved the Outer Worlds but all of your Starfield criticism applies to Obsidian's space game tenfold lol
Lol obsidian literally tried this exact thing and it was SIGNIFICANTLY worse
I would put Skyrim above Fallout 3
Nice try Pwny. The only IGN reviewer on the planet who gave it a 7 was Dan. (A proven Sony fanboy by his tweets going back 3 years) If you average IGN's scores globally it still got a 9. Hell, even IGN Japan gave it 10/10.
@@loganedom3160 But they didn't profess that the game would be a sprawling planet hopping adventure across a galaxy with one thousand planets, they purposefully made a more self-contained, condensed experience which didn't suffer because of it. They also didn't spend over 7 years making OW. Plus, Obsidian's writing utterly trounces Bethesda's even when they've only got a year to make a sequel to Fallout using Bethesda's own ugly engine: that was my point. Bethesda haven't delivered and they need new blood in the writing and gameplay mechanics departments because it's just so stale at this point. How can you not feel that playing their games? Why do people become so partisan when discussing entertainment?
5/10 boring looter shooter with boring fetch artifact as main quest, the chosen one setting which starfield uses is bland at best. People really thought this game took 100 hours to complete, man just did it in 7 hours 🤣
