Why shouldn't those high caste people be proud of all those atrocities that their forefathers had done on Dalit people ? They must be getting some recognition for those things by this generation.
Be proud of good things done by ancestors. And learn to never repeat the bad things. As simple as that. And every group inflicted some or the other kind of torture on others. People in low caste reservations get it simply because they need the help from it, they have been left at the bottom of the country by the previously used caste system, it's a way to help and raise them from those poverty levels. So it's to essentially help them be equal financially. Low castes are a result of oppression of society that had no say in it.

This is sadly true! Thank you Quint for reporting about this. and when I visited Delhi/NCR (Ghaziabad to be exact) to visit family, I literally saw some casteist communities (not going to be mentioning names of communities) showing off their caste with big stickers and blasting music about their caste. It’s a pity and a shame these things still go on in India. 🤮
