It’s a shame they took leias scene about counting only on herself out. She’s the most resilient out of the three and that is like really telling of her brashness etc. She doesn’t have anyone else as they’re all dead and she counted on these people and cares about them and they just ignore her
Luke took some beating in this film. It is cool to hear kershners direction & the actors extra lines like luke asking about carbon freeze & Boba fett. I guess they figured w/ a 3rd Luke would know all.
Ok the scene with Luke and Leia is manifestly creepy because Lucas knew at that point they were brother and sister.
Did he? At that point there was supposed to be 4 movies in the OT (or maybe 6?) and luke's sister was supposed to be someone else. Those last 2 got merged into ROTJ, which is why a quarter of the movie is centered around jabba. There was supposed to be another movie that featured boba as a main antagonist, but Lucas got burned out (Due to his divorce I think) and he just ended the Star wars with ROTJ... which is why it took Lucas 16 years to make the next movie.

No he didn't. Originally Luke's sister would be someone completely different. But after how much work he had to do with empire Lucas decided to change his plan and end with only three movies instead of nine, cutting out Luke's original sister and merging her with Leia.

Such tenderness when Leia touches his face and hair, they were so cute together and would make such a beautiful couple as they were meant to be. Han is so rude and agressive. Luke is so sweet to her. So sad Lucas decided to end the movies in the next chapter and make them siblings 💔

Yup Luke's original sister was to be Nellith, revealed in episode 6 or 7.
