I recently purchased a Subaru Outback (Touring pkg.) Slept in it recently too and man, did it sleep well. I’m not set up like you are but just wanted to see how it would feel. Couldn’t believe how well I slept and that was sleeping in the driver’s seat! Look for the different “finishes” to the Outback and the Forrester. I fell in love with the Touring package but you may like the Wilderness or some other package. Just wanted to share my experience with you. By the way, I really admire you and your lifestyle. You inspire me to live outside the box. I’m currently waiting for my tiny home to be built and may attempt to car camp until it’s finished. Currently staying with family but really want/need my own space now. Please continue to take us on your journey and adventures. I love how you “think out loud” to us when you’re deciding what you’re doing next. Safe travels! ❤

I’m from Trinidad 70 the jacket is on 😂 I cannot tolerate cold
But then in heat I’m good at 90 so I have an advantage there 😂

re: Manzanar and all the internment camps, actually. Obviously, I'm mad at the whole thing and wish people weren't such historical buttheads. But I'm equally mad that, as a kid growing up in the midwest in the 70's/80's, I had NO IDEA this happened, because we didn't talk about it AT ALL in history classes. (I love history. I would have remembered. They didn't even mention it in passing, probably in an attempt to cover it up with time and inattention.). I was almost 50 before I found out there was a work camp for POWs not far from my hometown, even. (Mostly germans. But still.)
It's almost like we didn't get the memo that forgetting our history dooms us to repeat it.

Yes I do plan to get that for my future backpacking setup, and will be helpful as backup!
