- Fifty years ago, in December 1969, the Provisional IRA was born from the widespread religious violence that had wracked the six counties of Northern Ireland since the preceding August. From modest beginnings, the Provisionals became the most important and dangerous separatist paramilitary group during the thirty-year conflict in Northern Ireland known as the Troubles.

Erin Go Bragh!
The word “decline” is doing some undue heavy lifting when talking about the fate of the anti-treaty IRA. The narrator neglects to mention that immediately after the negotiated “independence” of the south of Ireland (the terms of which included the partition of Ulster), the UK directly backed the collaborationist pro-treaty forces who favored partition (the Irish Free State) in a civil war against those still committed to the liberation of the whole nation. Their influence “declined” because the British government backed collaborators who facilitated their continued direct control over the north and meddling in Irish affairs in general even after the nominal “independence” of the south.
What??😂
Provos aren't anti treaty
Anti treaty ira are in our government so are pro treaty ira aka free starters
Provos come from official ira official ira did not come from anti treaty
Fianna gael and fiannna fail are both the original sinn fein split in the civil war
What the fuck is with your British flag..
Devide and conquer.. oldest imperial British tactical warfare move in the book.. but you lot will be voted out soon.. tiocaigh ar la.. no business coming here to begin with..
Ireland is one country no matter what any one says an we r the majority now anyway chuky r law
Actually the Nationalist population as nearer 40 percent, last year it became the majority.
In voting terms it was at 39 percent in 1998
It's about time people realised that northern Ireland was stolen from the Irish by the British lords and rich people and royal nobs years ago who mistreated the Irish arrested them sent them to America in the prison ships so British out of Ireland and make it a nation once again. Alan
Well Ireland is being invaded daily by the third world and you're doing fuck all about it.

❤❤
Legally my hole. They were stolen.
@JacktheFilmFanatic-vu1nk the plantations of Ulster? I'm pretty dalm sure the locals had their land stolen and were given to protestants juring that period.
Yes the land was stolen by the proclamation of King James. He tried to solve the Border problem of England and Scotland by promising Land in Ulster to those Scots and English Border Region families Land in the Ulster region of Ireland. Most of these Border people Protestant. The Church of Ireland is a branch of C for E. The important thing to remember is that with the establishment of the 6 Counties and influx of the Plantation persons, this created a majority of Protestants in what became Northern Ireland. Today the majority of voters support the Sinn Fein. Michelle O’Neill is the Leader of the party and both parties are working together, which is fantastic. The residents of Northern Ireland realise that they are much better off financially as part of the Uk. The Health and medical benefits, Pension etc would be gone of a United Ireland occurred. So no way.
The healthService in the North of Ireland is onits knees Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 is one of the richest Countrys on the planet ..Nothing but Poverty in the six Counties big big difference lol Ireland 🇮🇪 😂
@@leonstone4738you do realise that everything regarding finances is better in Ireland than Northern Ireland. Economy is better, wages, pensions, social welfare benefits are all higher than in Northern Ireland. Health service is not that good in NI. This stuff is not hard to look up. Northern Ireland is a forgotten economic backwater that London government doesn’t care about which would not be the case in a United Ireland.
@@Gofar1898How far are you going to go back? What about all the Irish women taken by vikings to Iceland, are you going to cry about that?
These lads will get rid of the immigrants
Such men can play a part and many wish too but remember they must do as individuals, we have much to teach phace one is done Irish people stand behind u so you have phase 2 then3 u must know what those phase are. Naw they won't..our beef is with the British not people seeking a better life
@@Chop2016 Absolutely but there are individuals from movement who on a personal basis are at protests in F.S and it is talked about a lot in Tyrone. They went to see for themselves with no connection to A.C.♟

, 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 The north of England is part of England and the north of France is part of France and the North of Ireland is part of Ireland and not part of England,, There is no Irish problem just an English problem 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
And the north of Korea is also Korea... What's your point?
I think you might want to look at a map or two bubba, the Republic of Ireland would not exist if the UK did not sign the Anglo Irish agreement the British army were deployed to protect the catholic community but the catholic community didn't like the fact that the British army were starting to target IRA members and their whereabouts and movements the catholic community then turned their back on the British soldiers, after that internment was introduced and that sealed the fate of hatred from catholics to the home soldiers, after that the siren of bin lids and calls for the heads of the soldiers who were there to help the catholic community from hard line protestants. Every side has a history to bare but the catholic side has a darker side to it
@@inout3513only in your mind
Try visiting Northern Irish Protestant areas and see if they agree ! I don't think so!
The new leaders of Sinn Fein don't have the support of the PIRA.
No they don't 🤣🤣
Sorry I meant to say they don't.
