This video does a great job not only showing why Leo is such a strong player, but also the intense narratives that form in competitive games like Smash. Plus there was a lot of good analysis in the important moments; I didn't even notice Leo burnt his double jump against Prodigy, but he caught that and ran with it. Good stuff.
For reference, Leo's run was crazy due to how long it was, but that's not nearly the most impressive part. He ran straight through a gauntlet of the TOP ultimate players at that time.
Salem -> Dark Wizzy -> Samsora -> Nairo ->Zackray -> Dabuz -> Tea -> Tweek -> Maister (x2!)
Save for perhaps Dark Wizzy and Salem, these were all players vying for top 10 and even top 5. Insane caliber of a run
Dark Wizzy was top 10 at the time, aside from Frostbite he got top 8 at every tournament and good top player wins, including on Tweek.
Dark dizzy prolly was top 10 at this point like the other reply says, but Salem was also unreal. I mean right before he played Leo he beat kome, one of japans best

Leo’s insane, but can we appreciate Prodigy just randomly coming out here and 3-0ing the person who is easily the best Ult player in the world?
I mean yeah it’s cool, but leo still won the tourney lmao. It’s even more ridiculous leo came back from a devastating 3-0 from a relatively random player.
I think leo could have easily won this matchup specifically if he counterpicked with sword character but there’s prolly a reason he stuck with joker. But Leo’s lucina or Ike would easily take control over Mario lmao

It's actually shameful that people think Joker doesn't hard beat G&W
It’s mostly even. The whole game boils down to who can control more space, and who can be more patient. The only wildcard in the matchup that gives joker the advantage is arsene.
@@jacobreynolds3917 Not buying it. Joker out-disjoints him and even without Arsene can just kill him at 80. Gun can't be reflected, G&W's super linear and predictable aerials give free rebel's guard, and the only way G&W can stall against Arsene puts him in hard disadvantage
@@willycheez7218 I get it, that’s why I said it matters how it’s played. To be fair i’d say joker can get away with throwing out moves more but g&w is better when it comes to frame data so joker struggles to get in. Cook, back air and nair does a good job of anti-airing while g&w’s tilts cover the ground. On paper g&w does have the tools to deal with joker,(except for arsene) granted i’ve only played one side of the matchup.
@@jacobreynolds3917 G&W actually struggles hard on the ground bscause up tilt basically has no hitbox and down tilt is very small, lasts only 3 frames and can ONLY hit grounded opponents. All he has is forward tilt. He has to stay airborne, where he will lose every trade. G&W might not have much endlag but the startup on his moves is morbid
@@willycheez7218 Well, as far as startup goes jokers only move that beats G&W in startup is up tilt which is almost never used as someone who plays joker due to its terrible endlag. I’d also like to point out that G&W’s ariels remain active way longer than jokers which allows for more variation and overall makes them harder to deal with. I can write these examples off however as being different in practice than it shows on paper.
Idk why this was recommended to me now but Light’s losers run at SSC 2021 has to be the new number 1. So many game 5 last stock moments. It was amazing

Leo beat like every top player though. Light's isn't even close tbh. Really good though obviously.
Light’s run was absolutely incredible, but in terms of sheer results, Leo’s unbelievably stacked losers run might go unmatched for the rest of Ult. Light had to fight Sparg0, Maister, MVD, Kola, Marss, Pink Fresh, Aaron, Suarez, Nhan, Squidplumber, and Mr. B, all incredibly strong top players for sure, some of which are some of the best in the game.
But to put into perspective, MKLeo had to fight through PGR’s #2 (Samsora), #3 (Tweek), #4 (Nairo), #6 (Maister), #7 (Zackray), #9 (Dabuz), #12 (Tea), #22 (Dark Wizzy), and #30 (Salem) in Bo5s. Sure, Leo is ranked #1, but I think we sometimes forget how bonkers it is that he tore through a bracket composed almost exclusively of top 30 players worldwide.
He beat japans #1 and US #2, along with 4 other players at the Top 10 at the time its not even close

I understand why this was the best losers bracket win, but you never explained why to others. you have to make the reason more apparent rather than just saying " and this concludes the best losers run of all time"
The only people that are gonna watch this video are people that are gonna understand why based off the information presented in the video.
