However, it is Tuomas, the keyboard player, that writes the vast majority of music and lyrics. If you like the devil/angel contrast, there is another song, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, where Marko sings the Devil part, and Floor sings the mermaid part. It rocks pretty hard too. Hope your 2022 is even better than ‘21.

Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This song is from "Imaginaerum" (the seventh studio album from Anette era). Marko has great menacing tone here , and Floor Growls ( only few will notes this ). Plus , this song has a crazy Van Halen Vibe to it ( Van Halen - Aint Talkin' Bout Love comes to mind ). This song took me several listens and deep dive at first , and now I listen this song daily . tkat whole wacken 2013 concert is awesome ! if your looking for a long nightwish songs ihat would be poet and the pendulum i think end of an era dvd video and greatest show on earth tampere . but might want to check out markos kiss while your lips are still red wembley also his band tarot thats a nice juicy rabbit hole to go down as well enjoy😁
Some more suggestions with Marko prominently featured: The Islander (Tampere 2015), While Your Lips Are Still Red (Wembley 2016), Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (Buenos Aires 2018), Ever Dream (Wacken 2013). There are lots though, hope you get to everything eventually. And Marko is a good songwriter on his own, but Tuomas writes about 95% of Nightwish material although with input from everyone else during recording.
