Here's my take
PJ might have thought that it was the knicks ball but didn't notice that gordon, his teammate inbounded it as you can see on how he blocked vonleh and then guarded the inbound play. Then when inbounded he might have thought vonleh would get the ball and inbound it...... for vonleh's part on how he didn't go for it right away....he though that it is still a deadball and is waiting for Tucker to get it and inbound it........ in summary it was a brain fart😵😧
