Hi guys, great show. I've had 3 Levos. I have had a Kenevo sl for a year and a half. I've never really liked it, I've been riding my Creo most of the time lately, along with my regular bike, too. Anyway, I decided to get the Kenevo sl out and give it another chance. I can't believe it. It's a different bike to ride now that im a lot fitter again.
Now I totally get it. It's shaved 25 years off my age, and feels great. Im absolutely loving my Kenevo sl. I would say i can get up most technical climbs no problem. Time will tell though.

Currently it is much cheaper to buy a full Trek powered full range eMTB compared to the low torque/weight Trek bikes. I suspect the SX bikes will be more expensive than the low torque/weight bikes making them even more expensive that the full powered bikes.

Being of the later years, I do like the grunt of the full power mode. Although completely understandable as to why someone would want a lighter mid range or even low assist motor. As I do regularly work above the 25km uk limiter could you tell me which motors have less friction to overcome once above the limiter?

Despite me cutting my thumb on the cut open Pinion E1.12, I don't regret shedding blood for the insights gained! Now, acceleration from start and support feeling at 27km/h felt a bit sub par in comparison to turbo mode Bosch CX sport, but the good thing is, it's all software caused! Since the same mgu can be used in 45 km/h s-pedelecs as well.

Get it, and love the explanation, but I have a Shimano EP8 and I can use it as i want, depending on the terrain or distance. I can set it up on the fly (app). If I want more power I set it up more torque or more assist; If I want range or distance, I choose less assist and torque. Also the skills of the rider do count. Weight of the bike? of course, but here comes the rider fitness. So the question for me, still remains. Keep it up boys!

My 5 years old cube stereo hybrid carbon (120mm travel / 2,35 rims/ old Bosch CX / 500) weight around 20 Kg.
So the idea of working with range extenders, and part's that fits the needs (not everyone need 170mm travel and 2,6 rims ) are great.
The so called lightweight bikes are often more CC Bikes and the full power bikes became all AM or enduro....with big Batteries...therfore the weight increase. Its like with cars especially SUV. Everything we invented in efficiency to save energy and weight was put in more comfort.

Agree with the graph for capabilities, but doesn’t correlate to what im looking for in an ebike.
My goal is to do more lap in the same 2h ride, and spinning 120 rpm on the way up to access the 600watt doesn’t make sense, and if i would do it, the 400wh battery would last 40 min…
BUT, if you are a 200lbs rider and you ride with a 130lbs rider (for example your wife) , then she doesn’t need the same power output to get up the hill at the same speed. So in that context, the bigger rider on the Cx and lighter on the Sx would be logical and she would benefit the lighter weight bike.
Another case would be a less fit rider that ride with very fit people on analog bike. Then the Sx motor make sense.
If you’re a very fit rider that ride with less fit rider on full power ebike, Sx motor make sense again.
IMO, that’s where having different motor/battery size and power shines, giving people the possibility the choose what better suits there needs.
Myself, coming from MX , full power with big battery is my choice

CX for me! I do have one question, what’s the difference between the riding modes? Eco is obvious but I only use auto as there doesn’t seem to be any difference in auto, emtb and turbo?🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @anonymousone6075
      @anonymousone6075 Před rokem

I have Eco, Tour+, EMTB and turbo on mine.
      Eco is 50% assistance
Tour+ 60% to 340% ( basically a souped up version of eco and doesn't use much more power)
EMTB 140% to 340% ( also the only mode with extended boost where the motor doesn't cut out as soon as you stop pedalling, useful for when you would get pedal strikes but still need the extra oomph to clear an obstacle)
      Turbo always 340%
say you pedal with 1kg of force, if the motor was giving 100% assistance it would be adding an extra 1kg of force
Auto is like tour+ but designed more for maintaining speed so better for commuters and should be restricted to city bikes imo
you should ask your bike shop to put on Tour+ instead of auto if you ever get it serviced or whatever

I believe choosing a lightweight EMTB or full power one is relatively easy to do. A lightweight EMTB, is better for experienced and fitter riders; a full power is for everyone but especially for beginners and intermediates among others. Indeed, a beginner will use the higher modes more, will often find themselves in unforeseen situations (technical trails). So a full power gives peace of mind, a feeling of security that a beginner or intermediate can get out of all kinds of situations and take full advantage of all forms of trails. The bottom line is that you could go wrong with a light weight, but you won't with a full power that also is less expensive in most cases anyway.
