16:37 Group chat: "Oh, this guy's a bozo, he showed called by, let's go"
The "bozo": *proceeds to solo the entirety of Team Pak*
it do be like that 🤣
PSA: the whole game is Snake Eyes Mirrors SMH
Holy crap Lois it’s all snake eyes.
Always has been, Peeta
We in for another zzz format
Oh cool, auto skip video. Thanks!
What do you think a tier 0 format is? Man child
Yahtzee
that IP n Underworld interaction was nice
Was an awesome event to attend! Looking forward to the run back! ;)
oh GOD yes
@31:50 It's funny that Formula is Once per CHAIN while Arvata negates without removal. So they could let it resolve, then on the very next chain DO IT AGAIN. As you said, Rock was useless against Baronne due to Linkuriboh.
Also, I really like to keep Divine Temple live as much as possible, with Poplar + IP in rotation you can "spellzone" (how I describe placing the monster as a continuous spell to save time) any of your more useful fires so if the opponent has plays they will inevitably play into Temple.
Agree, especially in the mirror its a waste to send away the tample unless you have no other options, such a cool card
A lot of people have been stealing the term "bench" from the Pokémon card game to refer to this mechanic
@@threevelayt5302 while i don't mind other TCG terms, especially if they relate to ygo (for example GY being cemetery/discard pile with mill/dump etc "meaning send card there") i would never guess what "bench" means in ygo.
That's why i said spell-zone this, since it is treated as a spell placed in the S/T Zone. I also call trapzone the centur-ion mechanic so it's clear they are quick effects + treated as traps (for when card type matters)
Wow nice thing to catch. I guess we all used to the HOPT on newer cards like IP, and forgot that Formula is an old ass card that doesn't have HOPT on it.
This is what I like about DB/TCG, you can get punished if you don't have the knowledge. While in MD, I hate that the game tells my opponent "Oh hey look! Just fyi, but feel free to activate Formula again!"
So dumb lol
THE biggest mike is dirty af. This man was cooking start to finish
Yeah cooking by not using the effect of his 100$ card. What a chef xDDD
32:24 formula is a once per chain effect so their opponent can go on res of arvata where poplar puts itself in spell/trap zone to go formula effect again make baronne then flamberge summon 2 or 3 bodies and make a 3 mat apo with the extra fire for princess and linkuriboh
ye thats what i said jajaja
Great fucking dub big Mike G3 was crazy
Of match 1 I should say
Is Biggest Mike running called by at 3?? Cause wtf was that XD they saw it like 4 games in a row LOL
Would love to see flame swordsman/infernoble replays
Ip reads exacly like fallen of albaz, so if they econ it he still fuses using both monsters on your oponent field
ye i knew that one but this one is more specific cause it uses underworld goddess
It doesn't read "exactly" like Albaz. Albaz specifies you can use either field. I:P says it can only be materials you control. If they e-con albaz, you can still resolve Albaz. You shouldnt be able to resolve I:P.
@@zachchristian22 It’s poor wording/special ruling. The summon requirements listed on Goddess overrules I:P Masquerena’s specification of monsters you control. It's the same thing as with Micro Coder in hand. A better comparison for I:P would be Formula Synchron.
the name doing lines is crazy lmfaooo
45:14 he was under droll so that’s why wanted grabbed from grave
The amount of times they draw called by isnt okay
41:02 new thing to add to things to remember
PHANTOM MIKEMARE
Sort of confused on the prio thing 14:40 wouldn’t they be able to respond on the summon of wolf?
they can , but linkuriboh would be chain link 1 and nib would be chain link 2. so either we nib there and they get to keep linkuriboh or we nib on linkuriboh summon and they get wolf add back
duelittle chimera ? in what game states do you summon it ?
it’s a free body so in a lot of gamestates
In Match 2, how did biggest Mike summon Underworld using only IP and two other non-link monsters? Idk if I’m missing something here
they used 3 and ip
Phantom Mikemare
Battle phase on turn 0 go crazy
Phantom Mikemare!
On game 1 wouldn't normal summon Snake-Eye Birch and setting impermanence had been the better play since after their chain impermanence they could just chain Birch sending itself and the face up copy of impermanence to summon ash and get a guarantee follow play next turn.
yes you are right , prolly shoulda done that
Clean
What did you do to your wrist Austin ?
carpole tunnel
that IP ruling is Huge
Im so confused as to why he didnt vieler populus
you gotta put a timestamp if you want me to look into it , FAR too much yugioh for me to look through (also i respond to comments on a different app so i would have to close the app and open youtube but if there’s a timestamp i can click it and it’ll take me directly to the video)
14:20 how does priority work in modern yugioh? I thought that was a old format thing.
It's a priority specifically to activate a quick effect, it's not like the on summon priority from the olden days
"Priority" basically means, in an open game state, the turn player is able to make a move using a quick effect before the opponent. So for example, if on your turn, you activate ROTA and you have Super Poly in hand, once the resolution has ended (in this case, adding a Warrior and sending ROTA to grave), you can activate Super Poly with "priority" as the turn player immediately after the resolution without asking the opponent if they have responses to the resolution of ROTA (such as Droll). I hope that makes sense.
Priority was only removed for ignition effects. It still exist for trigger, trigger-like, and fast effects. It's confusing because ignition priority is often shortened to just "priority" in this context.
But only for their designated windows. The turn player is always the first one who's able to use an effect that falls within its specific timing window starting with mandatory trigger effects, the optional trigger effects, then fast effects. A exception here for fast effects if one or more trigger effects were used since priority would be handed to whichever player did not add the most recent effect to the chain. That's what DB Grinder meant by priority since the turn player can activate Linkuriboh before their opponent activates Nib.
First match game 3 was incredibly major missplay but fire king player, like match ending missplay. They should’ve in response to monster reborn, chain the Kirin to summon popping ponix. This way on res both Garunix AND princess trigger, econ doesn’t matter because 1 of the targets will still be on field so princess will special, they locked under droll and now they end on poplar and that’s it. Pass turn S:P + apo comes back and it’s over. Holy what a bad missplay.
Only because you know the hand. You forget that Econ is an unknown and Called By was revealed by accident. If his opponent followed your suggestion and Mike had any 1 of Ash, Oak, Poplar, Original, Diabllstarr, or Wanted in hand to extend instead of Econ, then your suggestion is in fact the misplay rather than waiting to trigger Princess. Actually, any normal summon would beat your suggestion.
In this scenario you would hold Called By to stop Kirin's GY effect instead of Garunix. From there, Poplar is special summoned by its own effect with nothing to pop it, summon the monster in your hand, make Hiita, and perform the same combo Biggest_Mike did in that game but go for Raging Phoenix into Zealantis instead of Amblowhale for game. So what would you rather play around, 3 Econ your opponent might not be running or half of their remaining deck?
Also, Biggest_Mike could still make some plays by using Econ to steal Princess, revive Poplar, make Hiita and go from there. Sure, that likely loses to his opponent's follow-up since he wouldn't be able to go for the Zealantis OTK but it's still better than just Poplar pass. Overall the better play is to wait and pop either Hiita or Princess (whichever is summoned first) without knowing the opponent's hand.
@@DeltaZapdos actually my reasoning wasn’t because I knew their hand. My reasoning was this, in a very much simplified state where their hand was very limited, it’s better to make sure they have nothing on field than to risk anything. Also, ash and poplar both don’t extend because they’ve already used both effects from the monster reborn, so that’s also incorrect. Also yea, they accidentally revealed called by, that just sucks for them you know they have it now play around it not directly into it like they did. We also know they are playing mostly board breakers so it’s safe to play around cards like econ even if they don’t have it anyways.
Reality is if they can extend then their hand was better. We have to play by what we do know, and we knew called by, so there was no reason to play into it.
Also there board wasn’t exactly that well done. Ending on apo + S:P isn’t good when you require a fire on field for Princess. They could’ve ended on amblowhale + 2 fire or amblowhale + S:P and it would’ve meant they could’ve played through the hand the opponent did because you can’t called by Kirin, garunix and amblowhale to special S:P or I:P
@@AndrewUdal I can certainly agree with your last point since Fire King Snake-Eyes is very much capable of ending on boards that can rebuild themselves after Island gets popped liked Unchained did pre-banlist. 2 of Princess, I:P,, Arvata, and Garunix still would’ve been online after Lightning Storm, Econ and Called By.
However, both Poplar and Ash do work as normal summons here since they can be used to make Hiita alongside the Poplar that was summoned by its own effect. I only pointed out hand knowledge because Econ vs normal summon anything does make a tangible difference in how you use your disruptions. I could’ve specified my point better though since the realization that the normal summon doesn't matter so long as there was one didn't occur to me until after I typed that sentence and specifying Ash/Poplar doesn't fully suit that initial point.
Regardless, Hiita alone was sufficient as shown in the duel if it went uninterrupted. That's why Princess needed to be held so that it could be used to cut off the Link material and extension necessary for the OTK. To play around Econ means losing to normal summon anything and playing around normal summon anything loses to Econ so they hedged their bets against the more likely card in hand. Feel free to demonstrate that this point is wrong if you’re able to though. It's certainly possible that holding both Kirin and princess could've been the move instead.
As for playing into Called By, they actually tried to force it with Garunix which would allow them to go into Garunix Eternity and destroy Kirin from deck. Princess could still pop the Kirin on field if necessary. That isn't possible if you trigger Princess and Garunix simultaneously. They also failed to play around any card that took control of their monsters but those are still less likely than seeing a summonable monster in your hand.
@@DeltaZapdos yea, I think really their endboard meant they had to try play around something but nothing was truly optimal. There big mistake was ending on a board that didn’t allow for protection against cards like lightning storm. I mean at worst amblowhale is still really strong since on top of being a disruption, it’s also a way of bringing any link 3 or lower out. Oh well, learning opportunities at the very least, snake-eye fk is the hardest to play against and even harder to pilot, it’s why I like it. It rewards those who prepare well.
The mirror and the deck itself is both skillfull and fun to play BUT the issue is that going second unless the opponent bricked there's no way to win, I'm not entirely sure cause I didn't keep track, but every single match didn't the one going first win every single time? As long as you don't fuck up hard the game is too dieroll dependant
no they lost going 2nd , and that just means the non engine needs to change to be better going 2nd also
47:28
Did they just add ASH of ASH ? lol
it can do that jajajaja
@@TheDBGrinder oh your right...but why LMAO (mixed the restriction of 2nd ef with 1st ef)
Damn are we entering a t0 format?
saw interstellar and clicked fast af! ....baited lol
I have to personally disagree with the I:P/E-Con ruling. I:P states "using monsters you control as material, including this card". The way I read this is that it is specifying the requirements for the monsters you control, in this case being that one of them has to be I:P. If that is the case, it should not be able to resolve after being taken via E-Con, as it is no longer a monster you control. The fact that Goddess can be summoned using a monster your opponent controls is a moot point under this interpretation, but it seems like everyone focused in om that part of the problem. Curious to hear others' thoughts.
but you don’t need to control IP , it just takes bodies you control AND ip
@@TheDBGrinder Like I said, just my interpretation that you do. Obviously they played it out as if you don't have to control it. Until someone asks a qualified enough Konami judge for a definitive answer, it's just speculation.
@@TheDBGrinder Imagine you say "I went out with some friends to dinner last night, including Josh". That would imply that Josh is one part of the whole "friends" group right? So by that same logic, "materials you control, including I:P" would also imply that I:P falls into the category of "materials you control"
The thing that matters to me is the part that says "including this card" is it still the same card that activated once it switches control?
Yeahh sometimes effect wording is really bad. This is one of the "ask the head judge before the turney to make sure" stuff, because it might be different from turney to turney depending on who makes the decision, like some other rulings in the past.
you can tell dbgrinder is innocent by the fact he didnt censor "doing lines" lol
i assume they mean yugioh , obviously i know what coke is jajajajaja
@@TheDBGrinder ayyy so true
Any reason why super poly isn’t being played?
takes up extra deck space , has to discard 1 card , isn’t THAT great most the time
It can also get played around such as 8:20-8:30 with the world sea+bow of goddess end board.
@@piedpiper1826 yeah I know endboard plays around it but it can help in the middle of the gamestate. Let’s you dodge s:p, imperm, etc
@@TheDBGrinder do you prefer boardbreaker or ht from all the replays you’ve seen?
It feels like boardbreakers are more impactful if you choose the correct ones like talent and droplet (best ones imo and works going first). Ultimate slayer and super poly are also good but the real problem is ED space. Cosmic also pretty good, arguable in top 3 with talents and droplet. Also snatch/change of heart etc do nothing if you go first and also they target, this is why enemy is being on the trial as it is a quickspell as stealing monsters is busted as hell in the mirror. HT are more versatile as they work both going first and second but the thing is 1 is not enought and does nothing if you go second, you need at least a pair.
but do he be doing lines?
all the lines
Mike list?

@@TheHoodMVP never made sunlight wolf so it never came up, 2 witch feels really good because you need 1 to dump off souls, and its also just full combo
@@biggestmike5766 been playing something similar to your list. Shits been insane. Have you thought about chalice? I like it going into a fk board

Alternate title: SNAKE EYES MIRROR
PAWWWWP LARRRRRRRRRRRR
game starts 1:11
just call it sash
Ngl I left the moment I saw birch
Why it's a free body in the pure snake eye version. Idk tho haven't watched yet
That game 1 just seemed bad
@@dustinbutcher2281pure, fine. It was FKSE.
God forbid someone tests a card before the format even officially starts. I don't think Birch is worth playing in the FK build but if you think the optimal FKSE build has been solved already you are a capital S Scrub.
choosing to stay behind sounds CRAZYYYYYY
Tier 0 format ! I see only snake eyes :/
getting 3-0 yikes.

I want talents banned
Match 1 game 3 was crazy well played
