AUSTIN MEET | Deadpool & Wolverine Opening Night | July 25th
Tickets go on sale for the biggest movie of the Summer, Deadpool and Wolverine, tomorrow! If you’re in central Texas or don’t mind traveling, I’d love to watch the movie with you, meet you afterwards and get some out of the theater reactions!
HERE IS WHERE I’M BUYING TICKETS OPENING NIGHT
WHERE: Cinemark 20 Pflugerville
DATE: 7/25
WHEN: 7:00 PM
THEATER: XD
This is an informal get together. Just letting you know where I’ll be and if you get tickets for the showing…I’ll see you there!
Hey Sean, who do you think is the most lovable idiot from a live action sitcom?
I would absolutely love to go Sean, but I don't know if I'll be able to travel that far on my own. Would like to talk to you one day, though.
Also, out of curiosity, what the heck is playing on the TV in the background?
@@TrevsMovieReviews263 Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
@@TrevsMovieReviews263 I don't know. Whatever Charis was watching
@@TrevsMovieReviews263 It looks like Among Us videos
The kid just chilling in the back is hilarious to me 😂
This is an example of a movie that i think has been overly critisized. I dont get at all why the critic score on rotten tomatoes is only 50 percent
Another critic bashed film
It's by no means perfect and is a bit inconsistent but definitely not %50 level. It's, technically, a pro dad film so, of course the family hating, misandrist critics hate the film for that reason
@@alexandru5369Father must always be mean or stupid! Trash movie!
It's critisized because blue looks like the knock-off grimace lmao
Critics fail again. Movie was superb and heartfelt
Just watched it with the family and we were all sobbing 😭 such a cute movie! Cailey Fleming was so good!
The twist at the end made me cry
I loved it! I think it will hit people differently though, based on how fond of your own childhood you were. I miss mine as a 51 year old, so I got lost in the film quickly and have no issue admitting I was in tears at several points. I took my family and we all loved it across the board. A refreshing break from the current noise of the world we live in. Thank you John and Ryan, it's clear being Dad's is something you love.
This is almost exactly how i felt after the first viewing. Thought maybe I was crazy when I saw the mixed reviews. Glad I'm not the only one who was pleasantly surprised
Nice review👍
loved seeing your daughter in the background❤️
I've been really tempted to go see this movie because the trailers made it look like a really fun, creative premise and especially now that I hear it has a lot of heart to it
I absolutely loved the music in this movie; the score by Michael Giacchino was really good, and I like the licensed music they used!
I'll check it out soon. Looking forward for a fun, heartfelt movie.
Sean you and Jahns have more weight and value than all those dorks on rotten tomatoes.
It was nice to see Ryan Reynolds not play Deadpool.
This movie was a cozy and warm feeling that I absolutely loved
Definitely felt like a warm blanket type film
I've just watched the IF Movie with my mom and it was surprisingly Good for what as it as a Family movie where the whole family can enjoy with the emotional feels
Just saw this and loved it! Not one I’ll probably rewatch too often but I loved seeing it the first time. 8/10 for me
I really enjoyed it, surprised the reviews are so mixed. Good characters, good storyline, some emotional moments, some funny moments.
Great review Sean I saw this movie too and I really enjoyed it a lot and cried on a few scenes as well it was really emotional
Fleming was so good that she honestly overshadowed Reynolds (incredibly hard to do, and a major compliment) - really agreed on basically all your points Sean!
I agree that it wasn’t marketed very well. Our family loved it. My 17 yr old loved it as did my 9 yr old.
I saw this film in theatres with my parents on my birthday. It was the best day of my life.
As for the film itself, I’d say it’s pretty wholesome, but there was some stuff that could be rewritten. 8/10
It wasn’t perfect, but I just don’t understand the harsh criticisms. Saw it with my dad and sister, and even 15 minutes into the movie (for reasons personal to US), my dad and I were whispering to each other that we may not survive the movie. Loved it, was crying man-tears openly by the end. As to the marketing, I know people MY age who see the previews and walk into this one unprepared for its thematic weight. Reminded me of the Golden Age of Pixar, where they could make kids and their parents laugh and cry. By the end I will say (without spoiling anything) that I was also scratching my head, trying to make sense a bit of it all. Still, a very creative kids’ movie done right. Bonus: I never once was lectured to by leftists, and the movie was not emotionally manipulative.
Basically this is Foster homes for imaginary friends but a movie
Nah, it's more depressing
@@joshhickeysmoviereviews Which goes to show that it all about excution. Concepts are very broad.
No.
Nah bro more like Grimace from Temu the movie
Seemed like a really in tune and honest review. Thanks! Can’t wait to go see it tonight as a 35 year old male…with a big childhood imagination :D
If was a really good movie, Steve Carell was hilarious as blue
I thought the first half was a bit bumpy, but the retirement community scene and onwards I thought was pretty great!
Nice.
9TH!!..
Ive never had an imaginary friend but always thought of them as humans ie drop dead Fred, not a bubble or a glass of water! My 9 year old said they were board at exactly rhe 1 hour mark, and I fell asleep towards the end, which I never do during films. I think it should have picked a lane a stuck to it as in giving the ifs a bigger role and making it more wacky and funny and less of the emotional stuff so kids would enjoy it more, or make the ifs more realistic( losing the kid market) and make it more of a drama/fantasy movie for adults
I absolutely loved this movie. I felt the childlike wonder of movies I grew up with such as Hook with Robin Williams and as you mentioned E.T. I felt the magic as “IF” haha puns. Anyway as if I would have watched it as a kid. Also felt the adult side of the story. This film explores things I often thought about growing up and losing what was special to me as a kid. Then look at what is special now. I cried so many times throughout even at moments I wasn’t supposed to. Ryan Reynolds even said he felt it was a live action Pixar movie. Also not to get too personal. But with the opening of how the girl was close to her mother and lost her at a young age. Connected me with my mom and how I lost her when I was 15. So many different emotions into this more than I thought based on the trailers. The music was great I absolutely loved the scene where Ryan is being sent through a torture of imagination scenes without trying to spoil it. I could see where it was kinda going but overall still surprised me and the emotional level of it all was perfect for me. So wonderful!❤
Your mom passed away at only 15??!! WHAAT? I’m so sorry for your loss, RIP to her.😢
@@jediconnor9349 Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. 🫶
@@MattaTron1000 You’re welcome!😊
Did anyone else think the twist was obvious? I suspected it near the end of the movie and appreciated it but it was never obvious to me
finally sean. been waiting for u to review this since friday. excepted this to be a b+ movie at best.
looks really good I'll definitely check it out when i get the chance its sad to see nowadays that we really dont get many big budget family films like this released theatrical anymore akin to the abundance of classic family films released in the 80s 90s and early 2000s and if we do get them its extremely rare this looks like it has that perfect combination of family fun hijinks and heartfelt drama with that magical sense of awe and wonder in the mix i think the only other films in recent years i can think of that fits that description and has those qualities is Paddington 1 & 2 Clifford the big red dog and wonka
It definitely has a 90’s 2000 feel to it. I loved it. Really emotional and just made you smile the whole time.
If kids love it that all the matters definitely going to watch it
Studios are pulling their hair out the movie business is such a puzzle who knows what makes people see a movie? A Cinemascore but 50% critics score. But at the end of the day 35 million opening. So not good not great but definitely not "feels like summer".
I dare say that Rottentomatoes is broken. There are too many bad faith, obscure, NOBODY knows their name critics in this world who get to write for RT trying to get clout. The problem with that is, a lot of people refuse to pay movie theater prices for 50% RT. When its actually more like you said should be an 80% RT. I think in the 1990s say, maybe yes, more nerds should have been able to do reviews. Critics of the day were too stodgy and saying nonsense like random foreign film greater than Jurassic Park. Now that its 2024 though, nerds are the ones ruining the movie industry with all the various bad reviews, stinky mean and nasty attitudes and identity politics.
Nerd Critics see a kids movie as an excuse to hate that something was actually not made for them. Roger Ebert went to a kids movie with EMPATHY. Remember empathy, putting yourself into a kids shoes? Kids who give A Cinemascore? They say.. don't make a movie for ME? Bad review! Also what IS a good movie to nerds now? Certainly ain't nerdy movies, certainly not indie movies or originals and certainly gonna complain if there are too many "sequels and remakes". Its time to purge RT, back down to newspapers and youtubers with over 200K subs. Thats it.
Or the industry we all know and love could be dead.
Or the movie was just bad.
You talk too much I think! (Also rotten tomatoes takes every person that said the movie was 6 out of 10 or higher and then that percentage of people is going to be the score….. the individual people make up less than 1 percent of a vote
Didn't know they made Grimace from Temu the movie LOL
I enjoyed the movie ryan was super entertaining and the actors were great too.
Hello seggzy I love your beard
He is a married man!
0:19 dang when did Sean get a Letterboxd
He’s had it for a while
6 years years ago
Is that Tinsel Town Theater?
Cinemark 20 in Pflugerville....frequently called Tinseltown
Some scenes especially in the beginning were dragged out, the storyline felt a bit forced, and there were very few memorable moments. This movie seemed bigger and exciting on the commercials but was a big disappointment in the theaters.
I didn't know Krasinski was the guy behind it. Maybe I'll torture myself and watch quiet place. Don't know why I'd do this. Also, I guess Ryan Reynolds is the "Wonka" of the film
The kid in the back💀
Let's at least be happy that PWB was not in human form in this film, we don't need those jumpscares 😱😅
Great review
nice seeing your daughter in the video
What did you like about the movie? "I JUST SAID ITTTT" 😂😂😂
The movie If didn't really work for me unfortunately... It was emotional yes but I have a problem with the story and the acting of Ryan Reynolds he wasn't funny in this movie at all. That dance scene on the stage with the Imaginary Friends characters that scene was out there, insane, & crazy did not fit the film for me felt like a deleted scene to me... While Cailey Fleming was great in the role I just thought she was miscast... Terrible film will not recommend to anybody...
This movie made me feel things, too.
As someone who went through a traumatic heart surgery/hospital stay almost a year ago, this movie kind of triggered my PTSD, so I didn't really care for it.
Hey man! Havne't heard from you in a awhile. I sent you a DM to check in and didnt' hear back.
I don't know why this film is rated so low. If you didnt feel anything from this movie than you're heartless, literally had me crying in the theatre.
Yeah I did too. Absolutely loved it! Critics were very wrong on this one.

7:28 Your daughter is funnier than you buddy 🤣
Boring film
The movie was quite bad. Idea jacked from Foster’s Home, predictable, manipulative, and unforgivably boring.
2nd I have not seen it yet - but I like both actors alot/ their work.......soo I will def. see it
