      @@garrettsimms5163 You got lucky then. I was shooting for Mare Nostrum and at the very end Russia broke alliance that we had for 150+ years, rivaled me, and then joined the coalition I had. Basically had WW1 taking the last province I needed (Zeeland). Luckily Kilwa, Delhi, Korchin all had good games. Delhi and Korchin kept Russia distracted while Kilwa took on the Super Tutons and I was dealing with super Maidenberg and the rest of the HRE and Britian. It was a very interesting end game. Too bad I was still kinda new and wasn't too great at managing coalitions yet.

    A good example of Inheritance is Milan at game start. Try it as Austria e.g. In most games you will have Phase 1 active shortly after 1444. It's the highest chance to inherit a country I know.

    • @williamsouthworth9707
      @williamsouthworth9707 Před 5 lety +1

      Try Imereti, next to Georgia. With the 1444 start, their ruler is 62 years old (give or take a year) and if you´re playing an orthodox country, always royal marriage them. I´d say it´s a fifty percent chance of a pu, plus with the succession war you might get another vassal (as happened when I played Wallachia and georgia contested).

    @overlordskull7546 Před 4 lety +1

    In a recent game, I experienced the true power of PU as Austria. The paradox gods were definitely on my side. I forced PU on Bohemia and Hungary at start. I was lucky during the reformation since 3 out of the 6 centres of reformation spawned outside HRE(2 in Sweden and 1 in commonwealth), so that saved me a lot of trouble. I pushed back the Ottomans from the Balkans with ally Spain, released Byzantium as subject, put relative on throne and then force PU'd them and fed them all of Greek and Anatolian regions. Then I got an event where Spain just declared that they are putting a Hapsburg as heir, and then you know what that means. I PU'd Spain as well. By now I was able to Revoke Privilegea as well(that really helped because Spain was becoming quite unruly because I had literally not made much expansion whatsoever and thus was comparatively very weak to Spain). Also, all of the Italian regions except for the papal state(I wanted good relations for curia control) was under me, my vassal Ferrara and my junior partner Mantua. After winning the elective monarchy in commonwealth for probably 3-4 times, it finally turned itself into a kingdom instead of an elective monarchy, and you know what that means. I PU'd the Commonwealth. After that I vassalized Ottomans, convert them and did the same as the Byzantine and fed them the mamluks. The sheer power of my forces was unreal! That was my best and most enjoyable EU4 experience thus far. But ofcourse, as a result I ended up spreading invest all over Europe. The world was in such a condition that without having extended by a single province, the papal state was being considered the 8th great power!

  • @miguelsancho4374
    @miguelsancho4374 Před 5 lety

    Great video dude i hope you will get more views, i still have a question tho;
    ,sometimes in late-game i have a really good dynasty spread, and for my last game i was playing as Prussia and got my Dynasty installed in Portugal and France. France had a low claim heir and I was allied with a royal marriage to them. What I decided to do was to claim their throne and break my alliance so I could attack them with my PU CB once the 5 years truce would end. Unfortunately, idk why but their Ruler instantly died when I did this and they had a really negative opinion of me(which is normal). But when their ruler died i also lost my PU CB and found myself with a lost ally and a -150 relationship modifier with them. Then they rivaled me and even if I had my dynasty on their throne i could never get the chance to have another royal marriage with them (-200 relationship).
    -So what I believe is that they instantly broke the royal ties with me when they saw I claimed their throne, which made me lose my CB on them. If this is correct do you have an idea how to manage this kind of situation? And if this is incorrect can you guess what happened? Thx for you vid and sorry for my terrible english. thx if you can answer

    • @RadioRes
      @RadioRes  Před 5 lety

      Thanks and your english is fine!
      Not sure why you lost the claim throne CB there, but I have heard that its a bit buggy in current patch. Just from what I have read from others recent experience.
      If you still have the dynasty, you can rival France back. And if in future stars align again, and someone claims their throne, you will be called into a succession war.
      I usually end up breaking truce, if I have a chance to get a PU on someone big like France.

    Well... I got this recommended so
    Here's my story
    I was playing PLC (starting as poland in 1444 always) so I was learning how to play. My second last campaign ended with me taking Sweden (that formed Scandinavia thanks to me) into pu, and ended uniting with them. But mu current best campaign (I'm not playing to conquer world but I'm always on 1st place in ranking) I did it to without knowing that my royal marriage will end up with my dynasty ruling in Sweden that again formed Scandinavia thanks to me. But we didn't got into pu, but when I was controlling whole central Europe and started crusades with mumlands because I helped byzantines to defend them self, then they annexed ottomans with mamulands (or whatever they were called) and byzantium ended as my enemy because I had Bulgaria as my vassal. So as I taken Jerusalem I was about to do something with scandinavia and go into pu with them, but they ended up as a republic lol, and here I am watching pu tutorial now

    Could a good strategy also be to purposefully let your king die heirless to get an ally’s dynasty on your throne? Like in my current game as Portugal my infertile ruler kept having bad heirs that I disinherited, and the one I was about to stick with checked out just a year before the king, which led to me getting a king from the de Valois family thanks to allying France. This should make my own European conquests much easier since I can try to PU France now instead of waiting for one of them to die heirless. This does have the downside of tanking your legitimacy so that’s an issue

My best 2 playthrus with PUs was as Spain and Austria.. Austria I got Milan, Bohemia & Hungary very quickly after watching a guide on it but failed to get Burgundy.. I have no idea why. I wasnt sure if I was only supposed to Royal Marry them? I allied them too. Maybe I was just unlucky they seemed to keep getting heirs. As Spain I invaded Aragon & Portugal cos I had no idea i could get PUs on them. My plan was to stop all other oclonisers so I was the only colonial power so I also invaded & took out most of France having England as an ally. I later allied Muscovy too. I accidentally got PU over England & Muscovy... (no idea how it happened) which made me own all colonial nations & become the most powerful nation in the world. This was my second ever playthru. The only time I've done better was as Mughals & Austria.

      @@turalei it does not always happen. Sometimes Castilla can also inheret Burgundy via event btw. it's one of the scripted things in the game and is determined by chance (i think). not a pro either at this game. steep learning curve xD
