Can you imagine singing to almost 100,000 people and raising your finger and saying You’ve got to listen to this one and the audience goes silent. So beautiful and the studio version is gorgeous too. Great reaction ✌🏼🌹
150 000!
It was 1976. Their crowds weren't that large in 1976.

That's all true of the recorded version. ( reminder ) This. Is Fred's voice. A microphone, & a piano. That's it. No effects.
. . .and it hadn't been recorded yet!..Beautiful.
The album version is slightly different but stunning, mesmerizing, mindblowing. I still remember hearing it the first time and the impact it had on me
The way that Freddie could alter his voice to any song was amazing. The passion was so intense. Freddie never sang a song, he performed every song with so much feeling.
This song takes my breath away every time I hear it
There are a lot of gems like this on their albums that never really got any radio play. That's what makes Queen so incredible. You can get any of their albums and you'll find a bunch of wonderful songs that no body listening to the radio has ever heard and they are quality songs. This is one of those.
Боже, сколько любви, мольбы, чувств в его голосе. Как можно его не любить?
Just one of those sublime performances. I mean, really. From my favorite album of theirs. "Teo Torriate" is quite an epic, as well.
Of course it will be good. It's a Queen song. It's one of my favorites. I graduated high school in 1976. I feel so lucky to have been there when Freddie came out with all his songs and I got to hear them for the first time on the radio. He loved his fans and put so much into his music. He felt every word he sang.
Hello there .. I graduated in 1976, too!
That was a young Freddie. Early to mid 1970's were a totally different look for Queen. Early on they were a very hard rock band. Might want to try Liar, Stone Cold Crazy, Great King Rat and My Fairy King. Freddie was one of the most incredible frontmen. There will never be another one like him!
I adore this version. It’s hypnotic and soul infusing. So vulnerable! The recorded version is beautiful too as it has Queens’ glorious harmonies too.
It was quite common for Freddie to write multiple harmony lines in a song and sing all the different tracks himself... In the acapella intro for "Bohemian Rhapsody", he recorded himself singing five different harmony lines then overlaid them together. (Even though - in the video - it shows all of the band members "singing"... the others were just lip syncing that first part.)
YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THE STUDIO VERSION OF "YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY" ALSO.😉
Just Freddie and his piano, who needs more? 😁 The album version is amazing, but I prefer this pure amd very simply performance. This is one of the most beautiful love songs, written to David Minns. Pls, check out another hidden gem My Melancholy Blues for a jazzy vibe, the studio version.
The album version is quite simply beautiful, mind blowing, perfect ❤
When i listen to this song, i believe an angel who is singing 🫠🤗 miss Freddy...
Written by Freddie for that special someone who was in attendance at the concert!! A not-yet recorded song performed with determination & vulnerability!! Absolutely beautiful 😍 The studio version is gorgeous!
Both of you are mesmerized by this 👍
Wow 🥰 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ it doesn't get any better than this, Freddie singing and playing the piano 🤩
That is exactly what made Freddie the best vocalist, his expression and dynamics. Of course Steve Perry was amazing as well. But all rock vocalist, just use mixed voice for al of their songs. Freddie did falsetto, pianissimo, whistle notes ext. and other types of effects. He could sing any style of song. I suggest you check out more early Queen, White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon, or Father to Son Queen live at the Rainbow 1974.
Glad to see a reaction video for this. I love pretty much everything Freddie Mercury and Queen but THIS, one of Freddie’s lesser known performances is my absolute favorite. So pure and moving, hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for making this vid! ❤
This was the first of many Queen shows that I went to. I lived in West London at the time so it was easy to bowl along to Hyde Park, and of course it was a free concert too. It was simply a great experience. In the early days Freddie used to play the piano a lot more on stage which I really loved but later he didn't so much which, in my view, was a shame.
This was the 1st album I was 'waiting' for as a new fan. Freddie was born in Zanzibar but mostly grew up in England. He was of Persian descent and was very self conscious about his teeth but never had them 'fixed' because he feared it would change his voice.
Zanzibar until he was 7/8
Sent yo a British boarding school in India
Returned at 16
Fled to Britain at 17
Another song that showcases Freddie’s voice like this is “Nevermore” from Queen II.
Great reaction! 🔥👑🎹🥂
I think Freddie took your breath away. Still does even for those of us who know this performance.
Freddie in love - baring himself, heart & soul, to the one he loved.
Love or album version an amazing performance
Nice reaction. I prefer the live, but to hear the multi-tracking Liston to the studio version. The first part of bohemian Rhapsody’s harmony is just Freddie’s voice multi-track.
So beautiful amazing performance. 🎹❣
This performance of this song always gives me chills. I also love the album version, which has all the harmonies and multitracks, but to me does not have the same effect as this one. Sooooo beautiful! And to think he did this live.
He was so vulnerable.
Hi, when Freddie talked about triple tracking, he was talking about the album......Hyde Park was just him doing the vocals...no double or triple tracking.....consult the Queen Bible to learn about what the reality 🤩

FROM FREDDIE'S OPERATIC ALBUM, BARCELONA
(The original 1987 album version...
There's a later remix with more background orchestration, but you can hear Fred's vocals better in the original. This is a Demo where Fred is singing the SOPRANO part he had written for operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe.)
ALSO....
FREDDIE'S "IMPROMPTU" PERFORMANCE AT:
WEMBLEY STADIUM, SATURDAY, JULY 12, 1986
(His "Impromptus" are NOT the same thing as the Improv sing-and-repeat that he did with the audience.)
...IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT HE COULD SING THIS HIGH, LIVE!
(There's a recently REMASTERED video from:
VIDEO REMASTER ITA channel)
I love this performance of this beautiful song. The album version is much more of a classical sounding piece, even with John playing an upright bass with a bow. This performance is very stripped down because it hadn't been recorded yet, so the only one who knew the song was Freddie. Bear in mind that Queen was recording on only 8 or16 track tape at this time. There were no computers or other tech items to help with the recording process. If you took the same track and just copied it and laid it on top of each other, it would sound thin, like one voice. By singing it multiple times on top of the original, you get the subtle differences of each take and it makes it sound like a choir of voices instead of a single voice, giving texture and depth to the vocals.
It moved me......never heard this before..... mesmerised.
Beautiful.
The person Freddie wrote this for was at this concert he would have loved it.
What a vocalist.Steve Perry made noises,Freddie Mercury sang songs.Justin will know what i mean.Steve took the easiest route to a note,Freddie attacked it with a force.check out Barcelona,a opera vocal
This song and the whole Day at the Races album are awesome!
You guys together are great. You too Freddie👍
Hear Freddie sing opera, Barcelona with Montserrat Caballe, live at La Nit. Also, How Can I Go On is amazing.
The studio version has backing vocals from the band
Oops. I guess I"m wrong - it was overdubs?
All the vocals on the studio version were done by Freddie alone
@@robshaw2639just Freddie Rob
You should listen to the full version on A Day At The Races. It's phenomenal
wonderful song, Freddie we miss you soooo much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The studio version is all Freddy multitracked. The live version is single tracked surely, Great reaction BTW
Freddie was never triple or double tracked during the lead vocal except for the odd time where he was in a line or two to add fullness.the tracking comments refer to the beginning of this song in the studio version, where he tracks himself so closely it seems like a effect, but it's not.but he was hardly ever double tracked like Ozzy,or David Lee Roth or Vince Neal, who really isn't a singer anyway.
Great input!!!
I think this song is the closest thing I've ever heard to the great songs of the past. It's the "My Funny Valentine" of the modern era in my view.
omg song
🥰🥰🥰
You should react to Queens performance at "Live aid ", wembley 1985.
U gotta check out "Those were the days of our lives" came out just before Freddy passed away, awesome song
no not this version he sang it the first time prior to this song was recorded
this version you were watching live no double or triple tracks
It seems like each band has their own style and sound. You can pick Freddie's voice out easily when hearing it. Other bands have many things they are great at like I think Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant has the best scream of any of the bands. Queen has highly intelligent members with all of them having a college degree of some sort. Brian, the guitarist is an astrophysicist who has written things for NASA that they still use today.
It is not the one you started to sing, this one is Queens own composition. The one you sang was from 1986 from the film Top Gun
Try 'Who Wants to Live Forever' nest. It will take YOUR breath away. Listen to a happy one in between.
They layer the recordings over each other, to enrich the sound.
I prefer this version to the album version.
well, this version is autotuned because it's taken from an official release. You can find the original one on CZcams and you can ear the difference.
Queen song 'Jesus' have a listen.
Listen to the album version has the band
Please react to freedie mercury living on my own original music video
Immaculate performance, the studio version is even more beautiful than this one
Don't you hate it when the singer scolds you for not paying attention?
No ,si vede che in quel momento facevano chiasso, all' aperto in un parco la musica si sarebbe sentita male. O forse chissà voleva rivolgersi a qualcuno in particolare. Comunque fosse, solo il piano e la sua voce un incanto. ❤❤❤
I personally much prefer the live version, it's pure emotion. I find the album version unnecessarily over-produced.....
Can you please react Another one bites the dust live 1981 montreal :)
