I was at a Rammsteinconcert tree days ago. I am a 60 year old guy, who literally saw them all ... all the great music artists. But Rammstein is a class of it's own. The are not only musicians ... they want to make art ... and they do.
I'm 68 and was at that same show. They are indeed in a class of their own. Is it music? Is it a theater show? No, it is everything. On an epic level.

I love your Aurora reactions, among other things because you see/hear how many layers they have. Not everyone does that, they hear the wonderful tonality and that is enough. But there is always more with Aurora. That is also true for Rammstein, although a lot of the layers come in language (I am not native in German, but understand enough to read books and grasp conversations, but deeper connections probably pass me by). But for me one of the things this song and video is about is the unidirectionality of time. Being the only(?) thing we can never reverse... and that is what the video (!) "is about". Or??

😢first time watching "Zeit" made me cry nearly whole the time because of its depth and poetry. It triggered my "perfect moment" when I gave birth to my children and how incredibly fast time is running.
It goes by so fast. My daughter is already 3 😭

Rammstein cannot be translated because German is much deeper language than English with more words and vocals. It’s epic especially in poetry absolutely fantastic but unfortunately been forgotten in culture and history. Rammstein makes people think and wake up people. Even for us Germans difficult to understand. It’s more a state of feeling. Every music and art needs to be felt.

The newer Rammstein videos are pure works of art. (I like your husband more and more) Rammstein is one of the few bands that have international success despite speaking German. In the live in Paris video they even manage to get thousands of French fans to sing in German. The birth scene can shock you and if you look closely you will see that the whole thing takes place in an hourglass. A natural process that shocks you but can be a fascinating experience at the same time. The last scene in the video hits you hard if you have children (like me). But time has no mercy and I think that's what the song says. Live your life here and now.... Aurora has the same philosophy... or not? I think that many Aurora fans have mixed tastes. When I was a teenager, there were no MP3s or Spotify. The weekly visit to the record shop around the corner and the radio formed my taste in music. I went more by the record covers and their first impression on me. If they were great, I had the seller play some of the music from the records. If I liked that, I bought it. That and the fact that I was confronted with the loud music of my older sisters from their rooms resulted in my mixed taste. ABBA, however, was never my thing... disco wasn't really my thing either. Otherwise there were no musical boundaries. This is still the case today and with teenagers in the house my tastes are expanding day by day. Thanks for a great, albeit shocked, reaction to Rammstein.

They are more a Industrial Metal than anything, BUT..not all.. and their lives.. There is a channel "Bucksttabu", that has many of their songs with subtitles.. They are certified pyrotecnitians due an accident in early career..they decided do it.. Each song is one of a kind! and layers of messages in their videos..dark poetry.. The Best !

I am a huge AURORA fan, seen her several times, but I also love Rammstein. I have seen Rammstein twice in concert. If you ever get a chance to go, you have to. They have the most amazing shows. It's wild! I would love it if you checked out Deutschland. That MV is also like a movie.
Let me just add a thing. I love the way you do your thumbnails for your videos. High contrast on the band/artist vs the background, makes searching through your videos so much easier. I will admit, I pick and choose what vids I want to watch, but all the ones I've watched so far I've really enjoyed.

Great reaction. I hope you explore more of Rammstein’s work. In some cases, the live performances are more interesting. In others, the actual music videos will catch you. All are truly amazing.
Also check out Therion. I suggest you start with the live concert videos from Budapest in 2007 or Atlanta in 2012 (I think). Their music and lyrics are complex, and the harmonizing at the Atlanta show is amazing.

that video is maybe the greatest of all (close second, Deutchland), but my favorite on this album is Angst. And I really think Zeit is pure genius. Angst as something terrible to say, some message we are better to ear soon, or else...

@@ashlenamusic In the live video of "Du Hast" from "Rammstein in Paris" the piano player walks while playing on a treadmill. Many people remember this more than the spectacular fireworks IN the concert hall. Also a video worth watching.

Everyone has their own way of reacting and reviewing music. How many times have you seen this video. 10 times? If you want to see the whole thing uninterrupted you can always watch it again on your own. I'm speaking for the other great reactors that may pause often.

I think “Deutschland” is a bit too difficult for Ashlena. It's about some of the historical context of "German history and its processing". Without a doubt one of the best videos from Rammstein but confusing for foreigners😊. Since she can't get "Du Hast" out of her pretty head, I would rather continue with "Du Hast Live in Paris". "Adieu" next, then "Angst".... My opinion 😉

Hi....I can really recommend that you delve further into the RAMMSTEIN WORLD!!!! You won't regret it. Study the lyrics!! Try to understand the lyrics. WARNING!!! Many lyrics are ambiguous. Many people, UNFORTUNATELY, don't understand the songs or the lyrics. Rammstein has many styles. Serious, funny and hard stuff. But all of the songs they wrote at any time had a current theme.

You should not just listen to Rammstein.... Theire Videos are essential for context to the lyrics (that otherwise can get repetitive).
And also, most of their videos are high production. So it's a bit disrespectful not to watch them.
