Totally agree with you take on the Kraken. Watch a lot of expansion teams. They are not doing horribly. Patience. Hope the Sens Get it together.
Quebec City has a 17,000 state of the art arena already. Small market American with no hockey history,no arena, and no public clamoring for hockey. How did this even happen? A small market with an arena, a hockey history and a fan base clamoring for a team. They have a billionaire media wanting to buy a team. 😢

I'd love to see the Nordiques back in Quebec City. SLC got the team because they had a very aggressive local billionaire & respected NBA owner who the NHL owners want as part of their club. Was the Quebec billionaire you mentioned as aggressive? I really hope he is when it comes to expansion. If the NHL is going to make the colossal error of adding 4 teams, then Quebec City should be one of them.
You have to look at the region not just the city. The Wasatch front which is Provo to Ogden is 2.6 million people which is the population that the Jazz draw from. The Quebec City metro is a third of that population.
What happened in Ottawa was Dorion wasn't using his cap space wisely,now they are paying for it.I thought Chychrun.Norris,Hamonic and Lassi Thomson to Salt Lake City.The Norris contract would be an LTIR contract.The return should be Jusso Valimaki,Sean Durzi and Liam Obrien and 2 picks.One first and a 3rd.They should have a lot of cap space in Salt Lake City.They will still need another top line center.The other moves that could be made are Joseph,Kubalik and Kastellic.If Salt Lake City wants a different right shot prospect it might have to be JBD or Max Guenette.
It's not the current general managers fault,Dorion made a mess of things now they have to make some moves to stay in contention for a playoff spot in the next 2 years.
I agree with your take on the Kraken. Getting the level of goaltending from Daccord at 1.2 is crazy to give up and Seattle has no goaltending prospects coming up. Wright was averaging nearly a point per game in his late season call up (small sample) but it seems crazy to give up on that. Seattle does need a star, but I’d prefer to see them go after someone like Sam Reinhart in free agency. They have cap space especially if they buy out Grubauer, and they can replace Grubauer’s production at a much lower price.

I like the idea of Utah Venum. People will hate them but then end up cheering for them. The expansion cities should be Huston, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Quebec.

Great Video, as usual, Mike. I'd like to see Shane Wright to The Rangers, in A Package Deal for Jacob Trouba. I'm A Rangers Chicago Fan & I think that this deal would be good for Both Teams. Brendan Othmann & Shane Wright played together as linemates, from what I had heard & although I like Jacob Trouba, he's not worth The Salary Cap Hit on The Rangers, but, a Change Of Scenery may be exactly what he needs to get back to his Winnipeg form (Kevin Shattenkirk has gotten a bit better, since he left). Some players merely can't adapt to or take the pressure of New York & need a change. Let me know what you think

Trading Shane Wright would be nuts, especially with Beniers's ceiling looking questionable. Imo, Ron Francis wasn't the right hire to begin with. Dave Hakstol? A roster that lacks excitement? A thin prospect pool? Jagger Firkus is the only other potential high-end talent in their system. Francis is now a GM concerned about his future & is likely going to be on his 2nd coach. This is when mistakes are made. Mistakes like trading Shane Wright.
Respectfully i disagree. Their prospect pool is above average. Beniers just hit a sophomore slump and will still be great. Plus a top-10 pick in this years draft. Lots of young players with potential on the roster already too.
Enough with the Chychrun rumors he's staying in Ottawa. Chabot more likely to get traded as he should be!

I would love either of them to be traded, because both have been garbage... Chabot has a big contract and a 10 team no move clause kicking in on July 1st I believe... Ottawa would have to give away assets for someone to take that contract... Chychrun has one year left on a pretty affordable contract... If one guy gets traded, it will be be Chychrun.
