It's fascinating how the firing sound of a KAR-98k can change by simply attaching a scope.
And it sounds WAY more badass
Probably for multiplayer, so players could tell if it was scoped or not.
It was for the players to notice the enemy has a sniper or normal kar98. And to make them get scared 'cause of its sound. Also guide them to get cover because it deals tons of damage.

The animations were pretty smooth for its time. Much better than robotic animations from RTCW
i never had problem with the rtcw animations :D but somehow you got right :O anyway...Wolf and Moh are the best :D

Wolfenstein was an amazing game, it's multiplayer being far better than MOHAA.... But yeah MOHAA had better looking weapon models and animations.

I never got into liking RTCW due to crappy animations and motion sickness, it’s still a good game nonetheless

I got my German father going crazy with all the German taunts I could use during the game! Ein ferletzte. Franzosische schulerin schieBen besser! Haha! He really didn't like me to be on the German team! Why don't you go on the winning team he asked me lot's of times! My anwser was that I really liked the sound of the German guns! And in the game they where better! Remembering me with 40+ kills, .... 0 deaths! SOD is still my Squad and the best squad ever to play that game online!

I really love in this game how sound the voice of italian troops in the original version.(I'm italian):
yea,they always had nice voices all original german,italian french too, from MOH AA to Airborne etc
This was back when graphics were shit but atleast they took the effort to record real sounds (looking at you call of duty ww2)
This was back when you would be hearing the enemy speak German or some other language and you would wonder'What are they saying?'and found out the developers actually recorded several lines for a few German Soldiers playing cards in one section of a mission.

Granted, it's not Half-Life 2 level graphics, but dude if you live in early 2000's you could have said that "those graphics are close to real life!". In my opinion, Call of Duty 2 (2005) have better weapons models and sound.
They sound more authentic, but COD sounds are more realistic. Better or not depends on one’s point of view. For me, COD sounds are better but I like MOH sounds more

The weapon sounds are still better than so many games today. They really knew how to do sound design back then.

Agreed XD I always hear the MOHAA MP40 reload animation sound in my head when I'm reloading it in newer titles! MOHAA Reload animations were WAYYYY ahead of their time.

nothing beats that bone cracking sound of the no scope Mauser it was so satisfying to use sounded so much better than the scoped version aswell. Overall i dont think anything has even come close to the satisfying sounds and reload animations of this game even to this day with the BF games. Call of Duty 1 or 2 had some pretty good stuff too i remember but this was still way better executed overall.
Mauser, Thompson, MP40,Bar and Springfield were so satisfying to use especially. Only bad thing were the bazooka/shrecks in Mp but even the shotguns too imo the rest was mint.
of the Expansion/DLC weapons the no scope Mosin and Enfield were the most satisfying to use imo. However the games mp feel and look changed drastically imo with the spearhead/breakthrough dlc it was just not as robust/solid as vanilla mohaa movement and weapons generally felt more like floaty overall and also the expansion multiplayer maps were really bad in comparison. Map design in general wouldnt hold today tbh but this is a game i would love to get a remake for if they can keep the same weapon sounds/animations/feel in the final prodcut but with more modern and better map design especially for the awesome objective mode which only really had 4 maps and only really 2 or 3 of em were good.
I love how some of these animations a way cleaner then some modern games today, such as Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
Especially the bolt action animations.
You actually have a bolt turning with the handle when its turning, and when the bolt goes back forward, the action remains hanging behind, meaning it can actually snap forwars when pulling the trigger.
Most games just, magically fire after pulling the bolt back and forth...
Apparently there was a patch for breakthrough that replaced the stg44 with the Breda for the Italian team.
I used to love shooting someone and you see the grey dust looking stuff from the bullet impacts

Bomba a Mano Breda is the funniest looking grenade ever XD
But it was very effective, because it explodes on the first touch, unlike MK grenades or Stielhandgranates which didn't explode at once and had to be cooked.

My most favorite weapon in this game is the High-standard HDM Pistol. If it were possible, I would go through the whole game with him, it's a pity that he only meets on certain missions
Still feeling a little guilty for trying to get the BAR guy killed in the sniper town mission to get his gun. I think the mission initially was planned to give you that weapon, or maybe devs assumed you might accidentally pick it up if he dies, cause there were machinegun ammo boxes to pick up
The MP40 sound is almost the same as in Saving Private Ryan (Check the scene were Mellish and the paratropper guy are out of ammo and they hear footsteps on the stairs)

Cycling the bolt is so weird. It's like they're cycling it with their palm facing up. It looks like they fixed it for Breakthrough weapons though and the enfield.
HDM
- The weapon is inaccurately portrayed as single action (HDM is semi-auto in real life)
- You shouldn't be picking up 9x19mm Parabellum when carrying this (The real ammo is 22 LR.)
Beretta
- Ambiguous in-game name (Beretta made a pistol and SMG during WW2), they should have named it Beretta M1934
- The M1934 doesn't hold 15 rounds (A single magazine holds 7 rounds)
- You shouldn't be picking up 9x19 mm Parabellum when carrying this (The real ammo is 380.Corto/9x17mm)
- The third-person model of this weapon is very big (The M1934 is quite small compared to most other pistols in the war)
Webley Revolver
- Don't ever flip the cylinder back
- No 9mm ammo (The real ammo is 455. Webley)
M1911A1
- No 9mm ammo (Real ammo is 45. ACP)
Nagant Revolver
- No 9mm ammo (Real ammo is 7.62×38mmR)

- Ambiguous in-game name (Moschetto Automatico Beretta, the moschetto itself literally translates to musket) proper name would be the MAB 38, or Beretta M1938)
- I thought you're supposed to pull the slide, not press a slide release button

- I'm pretty use spent casings should come out of the open bolt a little bit on the front

- Real name in game should have been the PPSh-41

- Most portrayals show you replacing the magazine before pulling the slide

- Incorrectly referred to as the Mark II in game, as it should have been the Mark V
- For what's actually the Mark V, it lacks the foregrip, although they might just remove it

- Couldn't put just one more "K" for the sniper variants in game name now do they ?
- What scope is that supposed to be ? (The real Kar98K would use ZF39, ZF4, or ZF41)
- Is the different sound necessary ? (but I guess it allows you to know that there's a sniper)
- If the scope was put on the side, why not just load the rounds in a single clip ?

- I guess this name is okay in game, but I much prefer the Lee Enfield No.4, so not to confuse with the Lee Enfield No.1/SMLE MKIII
- Uses 303. British, so no Mauser rounds

- While this rifle might be a further development of the Lee Enfield rifles, it's still anachronistic, it should have been the Lee Enfield No.4 T (Sniper) instead or if they want to go even bolder but less historically accurate a Lee Enfield No.5 (Jungle Carbine) Sniper

- While it sounds badass, it's kind of over-exaggerated
BAR
- Full designation is the M1918A2 BAR
- Looks like someone thought the handle and the bipod is useless
- I guess it's stuck on slow auto, which it is more commonly used in
- There's no way you can pick up MG42 Ammo or STG44 Ammo
Vickers-Berthier
- While it is a WW2 weapon, it sort of lacks context, it is used by the British-Indian Army but we encountered none of them, well unless Lt. Terry Lyndon in the game had something to do with it, but the wiki states he's from the 8th Army
- The only way an Italian can get this weapon is if they came across the Indian Army in North Africa, captured the VB machine gun, and stored it in a glass case in the Caltagiorne Airfield as if its some kind of special treasure
- There's no way you can pick up MG42 Ammo or STG44 Ammo
Bazooka and Panzershreck
- Rocket not primed with the electrical system (but literally so many games until today still missed that important detail)

- Why the sights are so short? And the color is very pale
- The range should not have been very long, besides it's a spring mortar more than a rocket launcher

Scoped Kar98 sounds like G43 in Frontline, while G43 in Allied Assault sounds like Kar 98

get Moh Revival if you have not, it let's you get the 3 games and basically what it is, is a fix for the multiplayer

Medal of honor allied assault you can get it via cheats not sure what the weapon name is you have to look it up in the game files. You can also get the breda machine gun. Via cheating if i recall correctly. It wasn't included in all weapons cheat.
