James Cameron is the King of action movies 🎥
I still think the first Transformers was a knockout action film.
I would call his movie's more Epic than Action
Sci-fi. Not action.
Has anyone noticed that in the first and second Terminator film there are hidden Christian/biblical themes and parallels? Think about it:Not only does John Connor share the same initials as Jesus Christ, but like the biblical messiah, he's also believed to be humanity's only savior. Furthermore, both John Connor and Jesus Christ were born to women who became pregnant through enigmatic ways. Jesus was born to a virginal mother, while Connor was conceived by a man from the future. If you look closely, scars on Kyle's back resemble excised angel wings, as if he was sent down from heaven. Plus the human resistance’s war against the machines could be an allusion to the War in Heaven. I also think that the terminators are a possible allegory of angels and demons. Those who come to protect Conner are a possible allusion to guardian angels, while those who come to assassinate him are a possible allusion to demons from hell, like how the T-800 in the first film comes out of a hellish fire aftermath of an explosion with its skin melted away revealing its true and terrifyingly inhuman form. Finally, there is Skynet which could be a possible allegory of Lucifer/Satan as someone who was once good but later became independent and evil only to immediately start a vicious war against everyone else.
Any comments?
James Cameron always knows what he talking about, I'm amazed there were producers still trying to contest his ideas when he made Avatar.
What he says about Avatar being dream-like is so true at 7:00. I felt it because I always dream of flying so those scenes just resonated with me on a subconscious level, I even cried a bit when seeing the characters flying at full speed diving along the cliffs, it's like Cameron tapped into my deepest dream, flying free unbound.
Sounds like he got the idea of falling in love while flying from Superman.
THE GREATEST LIVING FILMMAKER! ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!
You said it, pal. No other movie creator is as creative as the one and only James Cameron.
one of the greatest ! not the greatest of all time !!
Up there with Steven Spielberg
🇨🇦
Quentin Tarantino is the greatest living filmmaker.
The first Terminator is one of my favorite movies however.
In spite of how many good directors are active today, my mind still runs back to Cameron whenever the topic of "best" director comes up. I've asked myself why that is... and what I come back to is something that you can see in this interview: Cameron seems to be very passionate, yet also good at analyzing what is good and bad about a movie with a (somewhat) dispassionate state of mind. And in case you were wondering: That is how you improve. His mind seems to constantly seek to learn new things. It seems that no matter what aspect of movie making one wants to emphasize, he does it really well. There may be certain directors who are better at certain things here and there, but he seems to be the most _complete_ director working today.
James Cameron, the master of perfection........If he made a movie of paint drying it would still be a work of art.
Just add some Morricone to the soundtrack.
That's what I like about James Cameron. He is not only about peaking visually but also about peaking it emotionally and that always works!!
"It's not about peaking visually, it's about peaking emotionally"
Take note Michael Bay.
Yeah well Cameron has the talent to do both.
D'oh! LOL!
My favorite director of all time! Love your movies Jim, can’t wait for Avatar 2.
I am lucky to be in an time when somone like James Cameron has the resources to bring his ideas to life for us to experience.
I CANT WAIT FOR AVATAR 2 !!!!!!!!!!!
“Wait till you see what Zoe does in the sequels”
Oh man oh man oh man
Exactly, so excited 😫 can’t wait
spoilers she swims.
Always loved all his movies and waited 15 years for Alita!
The way he cranks it up in Aliens is amazing.
I am so excited to see Avatar Sequels that will take us to emotional roller coasters, They will be instant classic
I absolutely loved The Abyss! Looking foward to Avatar 2.
"I didn't succeed, because I'm not as good as him." Says the guy that did the God damn Avatar and Titanic
lol
Says the guy who made Aliens a thing while Ridley destroyed it with shity sequel
Ridley was good up to Gladiator, then he kinda lost it.
@@Kinkoyaburi Prometheus is not understood yet, but will be revalued in the future as it happened with Blade Runner.
Cameron is the fucking GOAT.
Avatar 2 will rock End game has no doubt surpassed Avatar but holding a record for highest grossing movie of all time for a decade is huge I still don't know why avatar don't have fans like avengers do despite avenger was comic base and avatar was completely an original idea. He brought his vision from his brain to paper and from paper to the audience
I love James Cameron.. made a lot of great films..
This was really cool to watch. Somebody says 'James Cameron', I Pay Attention. Can't wait to see what he's got in store 😎👏👏👌👍👍
he wrote and produce the new terminator movie which will be a direct sequell of terminator 1 and 2 with linda hamilton.
he sold the terminator rights when he was young and got them back so he can realize finally a new terminator
and next year he release avatar 2 :)
Alita 2 we hope!
@133 1 yeah ...wise desicion...so he sold for 1 dollar when he candirect the movie...that was the deal...and well the rest is history :)
Could never get down with Titanic or Avatar, but god damn I love everything else.
me too but i include titanic and avatar too....great filmmaker
What did you think of Alita? I love it, my favorite movie, although Cameron didn’t direct it as he was intending to. I love all his movies and always did he’s just that good at filmmaking.
@@martinpetersson4350 I heard it was pretty good but didn't see it. I want him to go back to doing so I rated R flicks.
ssonicdeafmonkey titanic was a great movie in my opinion, I’m not a romantic film guy, but the action and directing were great, especially the last hour of the movie.
@@garywilson3042 I respect that. I don't think it's a bad movie, it just never clicked with me. I think it's because I grew up with his more grittier flicks that I could never settle into it. I'll give it another shot one of these days.
2:55 Is awesome insight into the structure of James Cameron's movies. This advice is priceless to other would-be film directors.
The magician always deliver gold at box office💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Lol Every time I see Cameron I think of the South Park Episode where he’s saving the ocean.
He's the GOAT
I can’t wait for Jim to finish his Avatar films, and hopefully go back to something on a smaller scale. I’ve read that he bought the rights to a book based off the bombings of Hiroshima. With his attention to detail and fascination with nuclear war, I think it will be a masterpiece but only time will tell.

I’m actually praying that endgame doesn’t top avatars box office I hate to see Cameron’s title be over ran lol my favorite director of all time and if it does a avatar 2 gotta avenge avatar 1
Sam Britt I saw Avatar ten years ago. Week two on a week day . I saw avengers now week two on Friday .. Avatar was picked. Avengers was not.
Also I can’t believe how so many CZcams reviewers are so biased beyond delusional. Your taking about summer and December but man there is a 10 year gap. The number of screens for example in China is one tenth of what it’s right now. Inflation is another thing.
Even if it did it took more than 20 films to build this film. Second part of another film with a hook with characters from a huge comic book fan base.
Avatar was a stand alone film without any introduction to any of its characters. It did it in less than 3 hours.
Even if end game beat Avatar in box office it’s not at all an achievement , nothing to be really proud of .. I wouldn’t even be talking about it ..
Endgame has been dropping like crazy lately. It got near 460 million internationally last week then 165 million this week. It's dropped 64 percent. A typical drop is 50 percent. Detective Pikachu put a dent in it, then next week is John Wick 3 with very high praise, Bright burn, then Aladdin, then Godzilla and the Elton John movie, then X Men. It's really packed. Grace Randolph predicted sometime ago that it was probably going to 2.6 billion tops because of the drops and she might be right. Even if it were to make it to 2.7 billion it would have to make an additional 88 million on top of that which, by that time, will have almost no gas left. I really don't want the vapid Avengers to nab it, at least it's looking less likely each week. I doubt Marvel will have such a high point like this again, at least for a long time.
Mahesh i totally agree with you saying avatar was a stand alone film and avengers wasn’t that’s why even if avengers to pass up it’s not really a big achievement when avatar was its own movie from ground up creation avengers is a franchise film with a huge fan base
Man, he's so right about Alien 3 and the crap that the studio handed Fincher for him to work with.
So true what he said about Alien 3
James Cameron is a legit film maker.
Amazing man
My idol!!!
Binging Terminator videos and then being reminded that James Cameron also directed Aliens
The best
"they made fatal mistake killing nute and bishop....(in the Alien 3) because you fought for this people..." And then he kills John Connor.
Except he didn't? He didn't direct the film and a team of 5+ writers wrote the film. What do you expect Cameron to do when his control is so limited?
@@MV7Snipe He’s openly admitted it was his idea, look it up.
From truck driver to mega director!
What a don. 🥰🥰 Aliens. Those last 40 mins...never bettered.
Oh yea I forgot he’s not just the creator of the Terminator but also Aliens
Master Cameron Rocks 👍👍🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
Respect ❤️❤️❤️
Awesom, but man if titanic was never cut it be at least 5 + hours long , and i say we need more of titanic not less
Real king of cinema
I want to be a director like you...
Happy Birthday James Cameron. Your a great director. I'm glad u made The Terminator. Terminator 2 Judgement Day. 5 Genisys. 6 Dark Fate. Avatar. True Lies. Alita Battle Angel and Aliens. I love Aliens. That movie remind of Resident Evil and Dead Space. Dead Space, a game, dead alien zombies, Necromorphs. Aliens r the Xenomorphs. Xenomorphs, Necromorphs. Sounds the same. They're the same, but different. Still. I seriously all Terminator and Alien movies. True Lies. Avatar and Alita Battle Angel is awesome. Your work is impressive. Avatar and Titanic is kind of romantic. Romance happens in movies, in real life, it's call stalking. May the Peace be with u James Cameron. From Harlingen Texas. August 16, 1954

This 2 is enough for you.
2:08 Meanwhile in Terminator Dark Fate...
Steven Spielberg and James Cameron need to combine forces for atleast one film / mini-series!
Why won't he release THE ABYSS on bluray and 4K? It is his ultimate masterpiece!
Maybe cause the 4K remaster of T-2 looked like the damn Wochowsky's threw up all over it and made it look like an f---in' Matrix film.
@@dinorocker8647 if only Criterion could get rights / access to do the work. They never disappoint and if an error does happen, they take responsibility and rectify it as well but that would be wishful thinking because everything of Fox has now gone to Disney. 😭😭

Avatar is the only film of his I don't dig. But technically it was bleeding edge.
Actors who’ve worked with him say he’s “tough”, “nit-picky”, “demanding” etc. But you cannot deny the son of a bitch knows how to make a damn great movie.
Alien 3 is great James.
He has a vision like Zack Snyder
More like Snyder has a vision like Cameron’s
If James didn't like what they did with the characters in Alien 3, I wonder what He thought of Terminator: Dark Fate.
He co-wrote and produced Dark Fate. Disappointing that he didn't follow his own advice about Alien 3.

2021... still waiting for Avatar sequels
Wait a minute.. Yahoo?
From a master film maker to... Terminator dark fate. New low. After the Mariana trench of course
Didn't direct it
2:00 you can feel his disappointment of Alien 3.
I wonder how an alternate version would look like with the characters Newt, Bishop, Hicks still alive and with location on future earth.
@Cosmic Hoschi I wonder why he didn't direct alien 3?
@@paulsmith9192 The idea was to film Alien 3 in the late 80s but to direct the movie The Abyss was more problematic and time consuming for Cameron than planned. And then in the early 90s he was already busy with directing Terminator 2 so the producers looked out for another director.
James Cameron is my favorite director because he is a technical genius with his movies.
We will have to wait a bit longer still for those Avatar sequels.
Aliens is A Perfect Film.
You gotta see aliens and abyss, really all cameron movies, Projected on a screen. Only there can they Show their strenghts, the Details, the Domino way the Action scenes unfold. The ending of aliens in the hive? Visually poor on a small screen, brillant on the big screen. The chases in t 1 and t2, the abyss sub chase, true lies sequence which starts in the bathroom, the last 40 Minutes, the whole of titanic and avatar are much, much crazier played BIG
James Cameron makes movies with admirable and relatable characters encapsulated in love and their effect, while corrupted people see it as a racial and political agenda. His movies are the most rewatchable movies including his recent work in collaboration with Robert Rodriguez.
milster what was political about it?
Goat
lol you should have asked him about the Piranna 2
He hates it
He is also a deep sea submarine pilot.
1:50 kinda lost respect for him. I thought he was smart. I think by now we all know what they did with Terminator: Dark Fate.
Me in HD It was a good follow up.
You act as if he wrote and directed Dark Fate. We all know Dark Fate would be night & day different if he had his way like he did with the first two films. There's only so much Cameron can do when he's one of 5+ writers.
@Frank Franktom Let's just say that he was tired of all these Conor thing. He didn't direct it anyways. He didn't put his heart in to it.
There's only so much you can do when there's so many hands in the pot. When they were developing the movie, Jim had his hands full with the Avatar sequels.
John was expendable after T2. If the idea is start off with a clean slate, which the end of T2 provided, it only makes sense that Dark Fate takes things in a different direction. Besides, 3 movies after T2 all tried and, in the majority of audiences' opinions, failed to make John's character interesting. I think he made the right call.
I think killing off Hicks and Newt, meanwhile, still rubs James the wrong way because he doesn't see the reason for it. They had fought and survived so much in Aliens only for them to die in the beginning of 3. However, this choice sets the mood for Alien 3 and adds emotional weight to Ripley and Weaver's performance. I really don't think it's fair to compare John's death to theirs. There was more to be done with Hicks and Newt. John was 3 times and you're out. And you could say, "Well, why not just make a future war movie then?" Because James isn't interested in that. He doesn't want to be pessimistic about the future. Which is why T2 ends on a hopeful note.
James Cameron should make NieR: Automata movie for real, everyone will love see 2B on Big Screens for sure 😏😊👍
I still wanna see Arnold as The Terminator laying waste to the passengers while the Titanic is inverted and the people falling down the tables bouncing.
1:54 Mr Cameron please! How could you be able to save the character Newt 6 years later?
Why didn't James direct alien 3?I
Can any body say... Why don't he make much films ,his direction is marvelous in all movies
He is doing it slowly but surely.
just 6 more months guys
I didn't know that John Daly directed movies. I thought that he was too busy playing golf.
Aliens > Alien
He says he is not as good as Ridley Scott? I like his modesty, but Ridley is pretty amazing but JC's films are just so polished.

The films he directed we're all either the letter T or the letter A. 😆 I've seen all of Cameron's films except Avatar. I wasn't interested in that one. My favorite Cameron film is a toss up between The Terminator and Titanic. I would probably say I'd lean more to The Terminator because Jack and Rose were annoying in Titanic whereas Sarah and Kyle were not annoying.
