Has anyone noticed that in the first and second Terminator film there are hidden Christian/biblical themes and parallels? Think about it:Not only does John Connor share the same initials as Jesus Christ, but like the biblical messiah, he's also believed to be humanity's only savior. Furthermore, both John Connor and Jesus Christ were born to women who became pregnant through enigmatic ways. Jesus was born to a virginal mother, while Connor was conceived by a man from the future. If you look closely, scars on Kyle's back resemble excised angel wings, as if he was sent down from heaven. Plus the human resistance’s war against the machines could be an allusion to the War in Heaven. I also think that the terminators are a possible allegory of angels and demons. Those who come to protect Conner are a possible allusion to guardian angels, while those who come to assassinate him are a possible allusion to demons from hell, like how the T-800 in the first film comes out of a hellish fire aftermath of an explosion with its skin melted away revealing its true and terrifyingly inhuman form. Finally, there is Skynet which could be a possible allegory of Lucifer/Satan as someone who was once good but later became independent and evil only to immediately start a vicious war against everyone else.
      Any comments?

What he says about Avatar being dream-like is so true at 7:00. I felt it because I always dream of flying so those scenes just resonated with me on a subconscious level, I even cried a bit when seeing the characters flying at full speed diving along the cliffs, it's like Cameron tapped into my deepest dream, flying free unbound.

In spite of how many good directors are active today, my mind still runs back to Cameron whenever the topic of "best" director comes up. I've asked myself why that is... and what I come back to is something that you can see in this interview: Cameron seems to be very passionate, yet also good at analyzing what is good and bad about a movie with a (somewhat) dispassionate state of mind. And in case you were wondering: That is how you improve. His mind seems to constantly seek to learn new things. It seems that no matter what aspect of movie making one wants to emphasize, he does it really well. There may be certain directors who are better at certain things here and there, but he seems to be the most _complete_ director working today.

Sam Britt I saw Avatar ten years ago. Week two on a week day . I saw avengers now week two on Friday .. Avatar was picked. Avengers was not.
Also I can’t believe how so many CZcams reviewers are so biased beyond delusional. Your taking about summer and December but man there is a 10 year gap. The number of screens for example in China is one tenth of what it’s right now. Inflation is another thing.
Even if it did it took more than 20 films to build this film. Second part of another film with a hook with characters from a huge comic book fan base.
Avatar was a stand alone film without any introduction to any of its characters. It did it in less than 3 hours.
Even if end game beat Avatar in box office it’s not at all an achievement , nothing to be really proud of .. I wouldn’t even be talking about it ..

Endgame has been dropping like crazy lately. It got near 460 million internationally last week then 165 million this week. It's dropped 64 percent. A typical drop is 50 percent. Detective Pikachu put a dent in it, then next week is John Wick 3 with very high praise, Bright burn, then Aladdin, then Godzilla and the Elton John movie, then X Men. It's really packed. Grace Randolph predicted sometime ago that it was probably going to 2.6 billion tops because of the drops and she might be right. Even if it were to make it to 2.7 billion it would have to make an additional 88 million on top of that which, by that time, will have almost no gas left. I really don't want the vapid Avengers to nab it, at least it's looking less likely each week. I doubt Marvel will have such a high point like this again, at least for a long time.

James Cameron makes movies with admirable and relatable characters encapsulated in love and their effect, while corrupted people see it as a racial and political agenda. His movies are the most rewatchable movies including his recent work in collaboration with Robert Rodriguez.

You act as if he wrote and directed Dark Fate. We all know Dark Fate would be night & day different if he had his way like he did with the first two films. There's only so much Cameron can do when he's one of 5+ writers.

John was expendable after T2. If the idea is start off with a clean slate, which the end of T2 provided, it only makes sense that Dark Fate takes things in a different direction. Besides, 3 movies after T2 all tried and, in the majority of audiences' opinions, failed to make John's character interesting. I think he made the right call.
I think killing off Hicks and Newt, meanwhile, still rubs James the wrong way because he doesn't see the reason for it. They had fought and survived so much in Aliens only for them to die in the beginning of 3. However, this choice sets the mood for Alien 3 and adds emotional weight to Ripley and Weaver's performance. I really don't think it's fair to compare John's death to theirs. There was more to be done with Hicks and Newt. John was 3 times and you're out. And you could say, "Well, why not just make a future war movie then?" Because James isn't interested in that. He doesn't want to be pessimistic about the future. Which is why T2 ends on a hopeful note.

The films he directed we're all either the letter T or the letter A. 😆 I've seen all of Cameron's films except Avatar. I wasn't interested in that one. My favorite Cameron film is a toss up between The Terminator and Titanic. I would probably say I'd lean more to The Terminator because Jack and Rose were annoying in Titanic whereas Sarah and Kyle were not annoying.
