I stumbled across your videos and find myself not only hooked, but also a little jealous. It looks like hard work but very rewarding and your attitude and character seems to fit perfectly. Really enjoy your style and calm approach to these vlogs. Having lived in Thailand for 8 years before relocating to the UK, I always find myself looking at any opportunity to retire and settle back into the land of smiles. Just not sure I’d be fit enough to run a durian farm. Maybe I need to be more like a fish, hey?

Durian trees in Thailand are a viable investment with great returns, long-term of the course. But, when considering a durian project there are many priorities to think about. Your main one is which market are you growing for, local or export, that is very import because that leads to which variety you are going to purchase. Secondly, just as important, your supplier of trees, must have a track record of supplying trees to the area. Go and look at farms that have been supplied and speak to the owners. Find out all the information possible for your project. This is a must, that will give you a head start on failure. Check if the young trees come from seed or grafted material, don't just take the seller's word, remove a tree from its bag, and check. Excellent healthy trees are not cheap.

You keep us in suspense when you post no videos. Always fun to see the latest progress. Your trip back to England will provide some interesting subject matter.

The green on top of your soil is algae. Looks like your Durian trees next to the palm tree plantations are lacking nitrogen. I would try to see if you can get worm castings and also mycorrhizae and mycorrhizal amendments for your farm.
When you go back to England you should try to continue your videos. Give us your experience living over there vs living in Thailand. In between your videos you should also try to get Phen to start vlogging farm life while you are away. This way it keeps your farm viewers engaged while you are in England. She can upload her videos to your channel as well.
I logged in to type this comment. Been watching a lot of your videos. I love how you and Phen work so well together and how she doesn’t worry as much. I like how she put it in one of your videos no point in worrying, deal with things when they come.

Don't worry mate about the green tinge colour on the top of your soil. That only means the soil is good,, but it is growing where there is run off ? yes ? Because that is where all the left over fertilizer is going that you put around the trees,, Don't feed them for awhile as the wet season is coming now,, And yes nothing will grow when under water,, that's why the rice farmers try to keep the paddy fields under water so the weeds and grass can't grow,, All looking great mate,, just cut back on the feeding of your tree's . And palm tree's have a ball root system so they are not coming over to your land.. Looks to me they need nitrogen , that's what gives them a green colour. then when it's time to fruit you need the Phosphorus and Potassium for healthy fruit,, NPK... Oh yeah and remember you are using bore water which is full of all the good stuff,, unless your bore is good enough for drinking, maybe send a few liters off for checking,, maybe the step son can get it done in bangkok for you guys,, then you will know what is coming out of the ground,, might cut back on fertilizer . The bore water must be good, just look how green the grass is and how fast it grows.. Need to show what is close, and things to do around there if thinking of doing a small cafe and rooms,, Sure people may come for a few nights,, i would because looks nice and quiet,, But people are not going to drive out of there way to have a coffee and some cake,, and then you need fresh cake every day,, lol,, It will cost a bit to build it all, then put gardens in and then have someone to look after the gardens and clean the rooms. Say 400 baht per person to cut the grass every 3 days as it grows that quick,, 800 baht to 1000.. then clean rooms same again,, plus power.. lots to think about,, plus have to pay tax,, And i bet the son will not be there,, he will be in Bangkok,,, LOL,,, Sorry for the long rant mate,,,5555 Look forward to your next vlog,,

We just purchased a neighboring rai and a half and we are planning to see if we can cultivate up North. There is no history of Durian up here so with wife's background its worth a punt. I am heading to Koh Phangan Sunday our construction has stoped for a few weeks due to poor weather ...looking forward to the Index video.

Your trees are looking healthy. Have you considered what the annual costs of maintaining them are? I see your neighbour has mature trees producing 400k to 500k on 4 to 5 rai. I guess this is actual turnover before costs ? As you say, properly maintained, there should be 1,000,000 there

Is it possible to spray your durian trees with Kaolin Clay and also whitewash the trunks when it’s not the rainy season?

I really hate to be negative but the idea of a resort/cafe in that location seems to me to be doomed...
