    CAREER BEGINNING
    Indra's career in music began when he was only 10 years old. He performed with his father in Bandung in March 1976 with a keyboard instrument. Two months later, at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, Indra played keyboards in a jazz concert involving senior musicians such as Jack Lesmana, Benny Likumahuwa, and singer Broery Marantika. In 1978, Indra began recording and releasing his first album "My Father My Best Friends".
    CAREER IN AUSTRALIA
    While in Australia, Indra got a lot of knowledge from Don Burrows, Roger Frampton and Paul Mc Namara. His musical career developed with Australian musicians, especially with well-known jazz bands, such as The Basement and Soup Plus. Indra also participated in the Manly Jazz Festival every year until 1985. In addition, Indra also met world-class jazz musicians, such as Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie, Mark Murphy, David Baker, and Terumasa Hino and was fortunate to share his experience with them.
    Together with his father, Indra formed a band called "Jack and Indra Lesmana Quartet with Karim Suweileh and James Morrison. They released the album "Children of Fantasy" in 1981 while visiting Indonesia. When they returned to Australia, Indra formed a band with Latin-jazz-fusion genres. with Jack Lesmana, Steve Brien, Dale Barlow, Tony Thijssen and Harry Rivers. The band visited Indonesia in August 1982 and toured 13 cities.
    Indra developed his jazz-fusion style by forming a new band. Together with Steve Hunter, Andy Evans, Ken James, Vince Genova, and Carlinhos Gonzalves, Indra formed "Nebula" in 1982.
    In 1983, Indra joined Sandy Evans, Tony Buck and Steve Elphick to form the modern jazz band "Women and Children First". Their debut album was recorded in 1983.
    CAREER IN AMERICA
    Indra's musical talent was smelled by the American jazz industry. Zebra Records, a branch record company of MCA Records, expressed their desire to release the album "No Standing" as Indra Lesmana's solo album. An agreement was reached in 1984 and the album was released in the United States. Indra moved to the United States in 1985.
    He also recorded at Mad Hatter Studio with Vinnie Colaiuta, Michael Landau, Jimmy Haslip, Airto Moreira, Charlie Hadden, Bobby Shew, and Tooty Heath for his album "For Earth and Heaven". The album was released in 1986 and became his second international album with Zebra Records. The singles, "No Standing" (from the album "No Standing") and and "Stephanie" (from the album "For Earth and Heaven") topped the Billboard Charts for Jazz and number one on the radio charts in the United States.
    CAREER IN INDONESIA
    Indra became an icon of Indonesian jazz and became the most active musician with more than 200 original compositions, and almost 50 albums, with 18 solo albums. In addition, Indra has also produced several albums by well-known Indonesian artists, such as Titi DJ (Expression album), Sophia Latjuba (Only For You, No Words album), Ermy Leather (The Most Beautiful Moment album). Indra also worked on the soundtrack album for the Seventh House, which was produced by his sister, Mira Lesmana.
    INTERNATIONAL APPEARANCE
    In 2008, Indra Lesmana was invited to appear at the Asia-Pacific Weeks event in Berlin, Germany. Performed with two old friends, Gilang Ramadhan and Pra Budidharma, this trio managed to amaze the audience at the House of World Culture, Berlin.
    In 2011, the album Love Life Wisdom by LLW (Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa, and Sandy Winarta) was ranked 18th as Most Downloaded Albums on iTunes.
    In December 2011, Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa, and Sandy Winarta who are members of the band LLW performed at Blue Note Tokyo, a prestigious jazz club in Tokyo, Japan. They became the first Indonesian representatives to perform at the first class jazz club. LLW performed with singer Dira Sugandi and rapper Kyriz.
    In May 2012, Everette Harp, a saxophonist from Los Angeles, United States, and the Indra Lesmana Quartet, consisting of Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa, Sandy Winarta, and Denny TR, toured Asia to three countries: Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan. In Malaysia, they performed at the Kuala Lumpur International Jazz Festival. In Indonesia, their two-night performance at the Red White Jazz Lounge, in Kemang, South Jakarta, was filled with spectators. Meanwhile in Japan, their four performances in two days at Blue Note Tokyo also won great sympathy from the local audience.
