Wow, mind blown! I'm usually the one teachers come to for help with technology, and I thought I knew it all! You just showed an old dog a new track! Awesome!
Some of the best training I've seen since this madness began! Thank you!
I CANNOT overstate how much I LOVE THIS!! And, I appreciate how carefully you went through the steps!
This has been THE most helpful video I've watched since the beginning of distance learning! I did everything with you step by step and it turned out perfectly! You explained everything so clearly!
The absolutely most clear and precise instructions that I’ve seen this past week. Thank you.
I agree! Thank you for such great information! :)
Agreed! 💯
This was one of the best how to videos I've watched. Clear, concise...right on. Thank you Amy Almada
You're awesome. I had watched several tutorials previous to this one, and your tutorial was far and away the most understandable and comprehensive one out there. Thanks a million!
Thank you. This was amazing. I will definitely be using this technique. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate you sharing this information.
Me too.
This was so very helpful! I loved the "saving image to the background" idea! Thank You!
This is AMAZING!!!! I have been so stressed wondering how to do this...THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!
Thank you, Amy! You have saved me hours and hours of frustrating lesson planning for my remote-only students! What a wonderful gift. I will pay it forward!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm an oldhead teacher, trying to learn newhead stuff and it's sooo hard! Your instruction was a perfect amount of info, perfect pace and down to earth so that I could follow easily.
I just want to say, "Thank you!" And, I love you for sharing!😘
Ooh.. I learned something new. I didn't realize that you can save the image as a background and not paste it on slide. Thank you!
Thank you SO much for showing how to turn a PDF into a working document for students. Your instructions were very clear, and you have saved me an incredible amount of time. You are a blessing as we all try to deal with these crazy times. Stay well!
I've watched this last year and it did me a good job. And now I'm watching it to refresh my memory. I love that you explained it very well.
I cannot express how helpful this is.!
AMY! Thank you so much, you did a great job of explaining each step and I was able to follow along and do this. You are so right, it does provide some comfort to be able to use trusted resources that our students are used to and comfortable with! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Leia
How have I never thought of this?! Great resource and tutorial. Thank you!
Amy, this is incredible! I’m a South African Grade 5 teacher and we are currently on our Easter holidays, but the country is in full lockdown (we’re not even allowed to leave our homes to go for a jog or walk the dog!) and it is unlikely that we will go back to school as planned. So we are now also being launched into the sphere of online teaching, as many teachers around the world have already been doing. I’m busy planning and I had envisaged myself retyping all my hardcopy worksheets to make them digital 🙈 This is life saving information. I particularly like the idea of making the worksheet the background in Slides so that kids can’t fiddle with it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
This is awesome! Thank you! I like using a 1x1 table instead of a textbook only so that I can change the background color of the answer area for students to just see better along with the "Type Here".
Like you, I use the 1 x 1 table cells instead of text boxes because they are a little bit harder for the students to move or resize by accident. I either add color inside the box itself, or format the text so that students' responses are in a different color and font than those of the worksheet.
OH! MY! GOODNESS! I just learned so much! You can teach an old dog new tricks; I'm proof!! Thank you so, so much Amy!
I have been looking for something like this for three weeks. Truly life changing. Thank you!
You are a genius and a lifesaver!! I shared this with the teachers in my district and we are all blown away. This will save us HOURS of time trying to create work for our students. THANK YOU!!!
This is EXACTLY what I've been searching for! Thanks so much for the very clear explanation!!!
Thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out how to do this for awhile now, and watching other videos, but you are the first one to show me how to do it on a PC. You are AWESOME!!!!
This is saving my sanity already! This is so much easier and helpful than any video I have seen! Thank you!
@@erinshije2107 I concur!!!
Great job, young lady! Thanks for this great video! Those of us who haven't grown up in the digital world truly appreciate good instructional videos! You're a great teacher!! So appreciated!
Amy- your directions were crystal clear! Thank you for this helpful and life saving video!!!
This was so helpful! Your directions are easy to follow, and the idea is brilliant!
THANK YOU!! i have shared your video with my district!! When you are able to do a video on the steps to assign and collect submissions, please let me know!! You are a Godsend at this crazy time - thanks again!!
Amy, that was awesome! Love how informative and engaging you are! Thank you!
Love your pace while explaining each step! Thank You Very Much!
You’re so good at explaining things, God bless you and thank you.

You don't know how helpful this video was!!! With remote learning and teaching taking place, this video was a lifesaver, thank you so much!!!! You're awesome!
Finally, a way to make a PDF/copy into an editable digital worksheet that is straightforward and easy to do! Watched so many videos and this is the first one that makes sense! Much appreciated.
My son just said, "Teachers teaching teachers."
I love this!
Awesome!
Yshwyhwshysygswygswgyy first game time in a new one ☝️ I cannot I want a big man 👨🏼 was my life I cannot is not to my best to get back in the way I get my car 🚙 I was so good 😊 is a big one ☝️ day I just don’t get the way you can do the same and I’ll just see how it happens and I’ll be there in a while and then I’m trying out the car 🚘 I was just trying not only the way I can see how much it is going on my mind so I’ll get back in the way you know I’ll see how much it was I just don’t want him trying not only one ☝️ I love 💗 I’m so happy 😃 day one ☝️ I cannot I want a big man 👨🏼 was I love 💕 I’m going back and then I’ll see how it is and I will never know how it will go and I will get it done ✅ was that you would have to do the same and I’ll let him know that I will see what happens
Melissa Kalisz has always not only one ☝️ was not good good for the game play but I just cannot first day I was just trying not only the game and then I’m trying out to get my new friends car 🚘 was not good but the first thing you could get back and I play a couple new and then I play a couple thing that I’m not sure 🤔 I will let them know
Melissa Kalisz has been to be one ☝️ is not to be friends with my new life I just don’t get my new car 🚘 happens when you come to see my first thing tomorrow I’m just wondering
If you go to the drop down menu for add a slide on the top left, add the ‘caption’ slide. Copy the click to add text here box. Copy it and paste it on the worksheet. You can resize it, change the font, color, etc. Placeholder text disappears when you click in the box so students don’t have to delete it. Game changer.
I tried this and sometimes it works and sometimes it still wants the student to delete text.
Amy, you’re a genius! Thank you SO much for this!!! Life changing!!!
My team (and school honestly) think you are amazing...we learned so much. You are an angel!
"Thank you!" says the computer teacher who could not remember how to do this...LOL.
Do you have any recommendations for when the background image is blurry in Google Slides?
I have the same problem. I think in order to snip the whole thing, I'm zooming out and then it's blurry when I enter it in the background.
@@rebeccasimonds7035 Did you find a solution for this as its happening to me as well
@@rebeccasimonds7035 the reason why it's blurry is that you are probably zoomed way far out and trying to create a background that is blowing it up to the paper size you have selected. You can either make the paper size a little smaller (instead of 8.5 x 11, try 8x10.5 or something). The whole point of the 8.5x11 is so that it can be "printed" if needed. So if the ratio is smaller, you're just adding more of white space around the picture if you are required to print!
@@iheartjaceyxo Recommendation?
@@iheartjaceyxo Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant - so easy to follow and create a perfect editable document in seconds. Thanks so much Amy, greatly appreciated :)
Thank you SO MUCH! I'm a new teacher who is trying to adjust to teaching online and I really appreciate that you took the time to make this video.
I'm having issues with students deleting text boxes that I have inserted into the document. Any work around? Text boxes can't be locked, it seems.
I'm having the same issue. Parents have to make a new text box for them (Grade one..)
2 Questions:
Can text boxes be locked or be another layer?
Can you make the text that says 'type here' disappear when they click on it to start to type?
Angelia Rosende Thank you so much!! Your video was a great help. 😊
@@angeliarosende3753 I'm interested to know what program you are exporting to Google Slides from.
I can't believe I never thought of this! Thank you! Great presentation also!
Great presentation, Amy! Love the clear and concise instructions. Lesson is also well-paced. Stay safe!
Thank you for explaining so clearly. It shows what a good teacher you are!!
Thank you so so much! There is such a learning curve right now and I really appreciated your clarity. Most of all, it worked!! Yay!!!
Thank you. I have watched several videos and this is by far the most clear explanation or the easiest strategy. Thank you for sharing.
This advice is so amazing! So helpful for all Teachers transitioning to virtual learning. Teachers are so lucky to have you.
This is awesome! We are on spring break and I just finished my weeks worth of assignments for my 8th graders for when we come back. I am new to middle school. Going from 1st to 8th and no virtual teaching experience except for ipads was a big jump. I have to get used to using a chromebook, because they are different than other laptops. Thank you so much! You are awesome!
I am just now beginning to teach virtually and this was so, so helpful! Thank you!!
This was so helpful! I made a few documents following your instructions and I'm very pleased about the way they look and work. I came back to share that I use your "click here to type" tip and have discovered that if I write those directions in color, that facilitates the task in two ways: it directs students' eyes to the places where a reply is expected AND helps me find the answers faster when I'm assessing the work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
You are fantastic, Amy. Thanks for helping teach this old dog a new trick! :)
If I could just say THANK YOU!! I am so happy that I found this video. YOU ROCKED IT!
Exactly what I needed to do and have been fighting with different versions for 3 weeks.
I will be passing your video on to our faculty. It was so dead-on for what I already knew and the next steps that I was obviously missing. Background!!! AHA!!
Your tutorial has been a lifesaver! I am a bilingual teacher who only finds PDF worksheets for my students and trying to get them to fill in online now was a nightmare. I am now able to provide them with grade-level material because of your tutorial.
Thank you so much! You are a fantastic teacher for teachers! Can't wait to use this skill. So helpful.
thank you so much for this!! this will make it so much easier for work to be turned in instead of how we were planning it, which was the parents email/text/dojo/upload a picture of the completed work! i just tried this out and it works so well and it's super easy! again, thank you!!!
Wow! This was so helpful. Thank You!! You just saved me tons of time. Thank you for being a patient teacher. Your students are lucky to have you! Stay Safe. 😊
Thank you so much for doing this for us! I am so excited to start creating assignments.
Awesome job!! The directions are so clear and can be followed easily. Thank you so much for posting!
Absolutely loved this tutorial! Thank you, Amy.
Thank you very much, from a person who didn't really know how to cut and paste and now I need to learn so much for distance teaching. You present this very well. Make more!!!!!
You go, Amy! This is fantastic; I am looking forward to sharing this with other educators!
This is exactly what I've been trying to figure out!! Thank you sooo much for this video!!

You are AWESOME!!!! THANK YOU for your EASY to use tutorial!!! Seriously, THANK YOU!
I just want you to know I viewed this in March... and I've sent your link to a MILLION people!
I'm now able to do more advanced things using this after the experience of making many of these slides.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We've moved from Google Classroom to Canvas, and with some extra steps they import there as well!
You are my favorite person right now! Thank you for sharing!
This was so helpful and so timely! I used it less than 30 minutes later to help a student.
This makes so much sense! I can't wait to try it. We have Canvas and so far I have been doing lessons in Commons and my grades have been super easy to enter. I am going to have to figure out how to enter an assignment like this into the gradebook. Thank you for teaching an older dog new tricks in an easy to understand way.
Thank you for these great instructions! I wish I had seen this two weeks ago before I tried using Kami to have kids fill out answers - this makes it soooo much easier. Thank you!!!!!
Your video on how to do this was the most logical and simplified explanation. Will share this with my colleagues.
Thank you so much! These are the most helpful and clear instructions I've seen. You are a teachers' teacher !!!
That's such an awesome technique! THANK YOU!
Beautifully taught! Thank you so much for solving my DL problems of students altering documents!
AMAZING HELP! THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOUR INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND! I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!
Clearest most concise video I've found yet! Thank you!
Perfect. So clearly presented and easy to follow. Also, you don't assume anything about our previous knowledge. I'm going to try this today. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! This is wonderful and extremely helpful..especially using "image as a background"...GAME CHANGER!
Outstanding and just what I needed. I also teach fifth grade and this has been a whole new ballgame.
You are such an awesome teacher!! Usually "techy" people go way too fast! Thank you!
This is fabulous!! I just spent 3 days on Google Training and learned nothing. Now in just a few minutes I have learned exactly what I needed to learn. You are very clear in your directions and I truly appreciate it...THANKS!
