Hello My Beautiful People! Welcome back! Last week I released a video where I showed you how I created texture and dimension in my art using Lightweight Spackling. That video is called Caterpillar Ridges, you can watch it here • Caterpillar Ridge ✨️ C...
Since the first piece using texture I have been wanting to pour paint on top and tilt it out and see what happens.. so that is what we are doing here today! I had originally used crackle paste on this piece but it did not behave quite as I expected and was curling up so much that it was falling off. I scraped what remained and added additional spackling to smooth that part over and then let it dry. Now we are ready to pour some paint and get to tilting!!
The canvas I'm using is a 10x20 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft.

I chose to do a flip cup on this because I didn't want to create a lot of lines that could get distorted by the ridges. Before I poured the paint I debated using a basecoat, but upon further reflection I think it would have given me a better result.
Next time I will thin my paint down just a touch, and use a very limited color palette. I feel like the amount of color of this made it hard to see all the ridges. I think something simpler would show off those gorgeous 3D shapes and shadows better. I am a little obsessed with the shadows these create.. its very cool!

I bet an ombre pour would be pretty for this medium. Pretty! Thanks, Mina and HoA!🎉😊
This was the best thing you could've done with this, now it looks great!

Absolutely extraordinary outcome. It’s always fun & inspiring watching you doing experimental pourings Mina👍🏻⭐️⭐️🙂
I LOVE it! I love how the texture made the paint do unexpected things. Great experiment to continue to try different things.
A fun experiment! I can hardly wait to see what else you do with this technique. I think you got your money’s worth from this canvas. 😀

Your experiment really helped me! Now I know for sure that I should go for just a few colors that look good when melding/blending.😊✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Love it Mina ….have you looked at it in portrait view …it looks like a raging ocean ….and a sunnny sky ! Love ya my friend ❤

That was cool! I love it, wish I could see it in person because I don't think we get the true depth of it. Someone mentioned an Ombre pour below and I think that would be really awesome!!
Love the movement!
I was waiting for you to do a pour on the texture! Love it!🥰
This really is awesome🥰
I love the texture and agree with trying a more limited pallette.
Pretty Mina! Love from NB Canada!
Wow! I was wondering when you'd do this. I love how tickled you were. I couldn't stop giggling with you. So freaking cool. xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxo
I wonder is varnishing before painting would help?
Hello Mina
