Exposing these false political ideas through truth won’t happen at church in our current environment. Because political truth is avoided at all cost. For example any recent talks on Gadianton Robbers in the BOM or today? But I do believe political boldness will once again spoken from the pulpit in the future.

I am sad and ashamed to say that I only realized the terrible situation in which we find ourselves in, was after the Oct 7th attacks. I am Romanian, but living in Italy. I was 5 at the revolution, so even though I didn’t experience the communist regime the same way my parents did, I still have memories of it and all the lacks and the fear is still running through my dna. Most likely passed from my parents. There was always so much fear of the neighbors, of the police, of the state , even of family members. Fear they could turn you in if they caught you watching western movies. Or listening to the radio. Watching the western world being captured by the hideous socialist/communist ideology feels surreal. This is a nightmare. See I don’t think they realize what they have unleashed and I pray to God they will never get to see the results of their doing. Because it would mean we failed in stopping them. I also noticed how being around these people or rules by them is exactly like when you’re in a toxic relationship with an abuser , narcissistic personality disorder or some sort of psychopathy. The way they shift blame, gaslight , abuse , scream and shout, the superiority complex, the idea that they can take advantage of our kindness and compassion. The idea that they don’t have to work , but we do . And they get to reap the benefits of our hard work. All of it makes so much sense to me when I look at this through the lens of abusive relationships. I myself am the survivor of such relationships. And they use the exact same tactics and manipulations. The entire western world is in a toxic relationship with a bunch of psychopaths.

It all started with me listening to Jordan Peterson and hearing him talk about Post-Modernists and wondering what the heck he was talking about. Then I discovered a documentary by Mike Nayna about the grievance studies affair which introduced me to James Lindsay. His first podcast on Hegel was absolutely revelatory to me as well as the Cynical Theories book. Thanks for hosting James Lindsay, I really enjoyed the discussion

It's a principle of Luciferianism that one must announce their intentions, in order that people will willingly enslave themselves. So you see the conscious projection unto their "enemy" of the precise thing that they themselves do.
It's a "telling" by sheer negation. Falsity is a power deep as the power to discern truth from illusion. Watch your step.
Take the recent Davos conference; they _allowed_ opposition by letting others not in sync with them to speak. Free Will is the Golden Rule. The Law is One.

Man, that never occurred to me, but I totally see the similarities too. As well as Sherem and modern-day Christian nationalism - they say they believe the words of the scriptures, but must not read them very often or make any effort to understand them. All they need is the "framework" of Christianity and the receptor sites of feel-good kindness and love in order to replicate. Good thing Jacob was there to disassemble Sherem's lies; we likewise need to identify these things happening in our communities and let truth burn away falsehood.

This was worth the wait. I also have to add that while I had hoped when this video came, that it would have had some time where James speaks specifically to issues he's mentioned with Utah (fake red state) or The Church. But after watching it I appreciate that you kept it on the topics you covered AND in particular I happen to think the way you added your insights and questions was very clever in that you alluded to topics that your audience would pick up on, without beating James over the head with it and specifically trying to draw out an answer by leading the witness. There were a number of times that you said "key phrases" that you often discuss on your videos and he ran with it, and we got the answer we were interested in hearing, yet it was somewhat "for those that have ears to hear" if you will.
Great interview. One of my favorites. It also answered a few questions I still had that were fuzzy for me. It seems like over the past year James has been working to refine his ideas and each interview it seems like he's sharper and more refined in how he lays it all out.

One of the best guests and discussions you've ever had, Greg! When I heard James talk about the attitudes, that have been taking over in the churches, of "being nice", "gentle as doves", etc. - at the expense of being "wise as serpents", I immediately thought of what has been happening over the past several years within our own church. I see the increasing push for "unity", and the appeasing and embracing of the perceived "oppressed" (while at the same time lecturing the congregations, or the perceived "oppressors"), as buying into the exact Marxist philosophies described here in this discussion. Painting the allowance for self-destruction (by way of embracing open borders - and all who come through them, LGBT acceptance, and giving credence to the ideologies of BLM/'White Guilt', etc.) with the sweeping brush of "Love Thy Neighbor" - and if you don't go along, you are "un-Christlike" - frankly, seems to align more with 'Social Justice' ideals than Gospel Principles and the Doctrine of Christ - especially since the emphasis by our leaders coincides chronoligically with these very same issues our society has been dealing with. Instead of being a "peculiar people", it seems we are becoming a "woke" people.

      @lindamartinez7006
Where did I say, or even indicate that I know more than our leaders? My concern that certain ideologies and even agendas regarding the Social issues of our day seem to increasingly have a presence, or that they may be influencing the attitudes of our leaders (especially local leaders) in no way indicates that I see myself as above them, or that I believe I know better than they, or can see the future. My comments were merely an observation based on personal experience, as well as public decisions and actions by our leaders. I happen to sustain our 15 General Authorities as prophets, seers, and revelators as they speak for the Lord, and direct His church, with our prophet holding all the keys to administer the Lord's kingdom on Earth. Even so, they are not perfect. They can and do make mistakes. As Elder Holland says, "Imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we." I also have a personally revealed testimony of the Restored Gospel and the divine mission of our Savior, and acknowledge the necessity for having a church/organization as a vehicle for administering the ordinances and teaching the principles that allow us to attain the highest degree of glory in our Father's kingdom. This testimony is my most valuable possession and constitutes the foundation of belief in my life. In fact, now, more than ever, I depend on that testimony to anchor me to the Covenant Path as the influences and attitudes I mentioned attempt to creep in. As we know, truth is truth. It has no qualifier. Even when other voices would attempt to distract or disuade, or even infiltrate, abandoning truth is not an option that I choose, for I know in whom I have placed my trust. Perhaps before sitting in judgement and pronouncing woes upon a complete stranger, you might instead ask for clarification from the person whose comment you may not completely understand because you have jumped to conclusions.

Lehi called it "an exceedingly great mist of darkness." James Lindsay traced the evolution of this darkness by citing many of its proponents, noting "your average functionary in this world view believes everything is pretend." The father of all this darkness, all this pretend, all this delusion, was not cited in this discussion. I think of this often when I am in the temple and I hear "Who are you?" And the answer is "I am the god of this world." That is pretend. That is delusion. Satan is the very father of delusion, of pretend, of darkness. What these two men are talking about is literally the doctrine of devils.

The feminine side is to embrace and the masculine is to cut ... there is purpose in male and female, especially in marriage. You are right, we have been led to embrace continually without the cutting, once again the feminine nurturer so they. can push the overload of chaotic care in the name of unrighteous dominion. We are definitely in a Culture of Narcissism, infant, behavior. We as a Christian Society have been taught to turn our cheek, but not repeatedly like so many have interpreted .... we first turn our cheek, and then we wait for the next move ... if they strike again, they are an enemy, if they ask forgiveness we know them to be repentant ... we were never invited to rollover forever. They just shrug it off and they only cared about what everyone was wearing. I fought it, understood it, and self-censored A LOT between '18 and '24. I've lived that performativity, and this social justice paradigm virus infected my English discipline and deteriorated its ability to conduct honest and replicable research.

I'm so sorry you have been going through this. Academia today is so sad. That's why I've told my kids a college degree is not essential to a great job (Because honestly I don't want them to go. I'd rather have them sane, whole, loved, feel appreciated, etc. Although, that was my expectation for them starting out as a mom in 1998.) I'm glad you have fought it. Your kids will be so much better off that you have the great understanding of what has been happening. We've talked about Marxism as "the Mark" for years.

@MommaCrissa you and Mike Rowe sound alike! Great advice. Your sanity gives me hope. I hope your kids avoided the 'virus' or engaged with it well. I will say, not all degrees are created equal. Evidence-based degrees in STEM can withstand the ideological onslaught in ways my theory-based humanities degrees can not, though not fully immune I admit. I have documented my identity-based ostracization and try to share my understanding via my Project Luminas substack and theskykingblog. Share if anyone you know is experiencing the isolation and racial/gender essentialism that drains the will to research and work.

I believe (as James alludes to near the end) that our whole education system will be taken down, but the ones who bring a Zion approach to education will be a whole other class. Just know you have something to look forward to. Be the one who stands out firm. Be wise and kind. Personally, I love Robin Williams in the Dead Poets Society who engages and helps students think for themselves. Keep God at the forefront and a sly smile of knowing what the future holds once we get past the degradation of elites masking truth.

In Jungian terms, this woke/marxist/communist ideology/religion is the shadow of the restored gospel. The members who’ve bought into this ideology are pushing for its “integration” (as Jung believed we must integrate our shadow to become truly whole/one). The issue for these members is; they want it all integrated, but the Doctrine makes it clear what can and cannot be integrated.. So much more could be said.

James is exactly right in explaining that this new form of Marxism (wokeness) is based in completely warped versions of Christ-like attributes and principles. If we aren't paying attention to the bad fruits of this "religion" and if we aren't constantly inviting the spirit into our lives, we won't be able to discern truth from error and we will be deceived. Until one day, having lost everything important to us, we'll wake up and wonder how we ended up where we did. The father of lies is hard at work. Thanks, Greg, for working hard on the counterstrike.

This was such a great episode. So much to unpack and to understand. I agree with James on this point because I see it at work and with a lot of members of the church. That is they do not see Marxism in their daily lives and the complete social engineering that is going on. Most don’t want to see the issue because it is scary and difficult to understand if you do not take the time to learn about it. The adversary starts in secret combinations, then at some point is not shy about his secrets and will tell you to your face what he is doing. These social justice programs are at that point, tell it to your face and see how you will react. Thank you Greg for having James on the program. I began seeing these issues back in the early 2000 then watched it exploded through the 2010s. People said I was crazy and a conspiracy theorist. It can’t be a conspiracy if they admit they do it. James is talking about Critical Immigration Theory around 1:03 in the video. I think the LDS culture is easily susceptible to this because we serve missions in far away places and there is a certain soft spot for the people we've taught and seen join the church. I've had a couple of conversations with friends and family about the mass immigration we've witnessed in the U.S. over the last several years. Many of these friends feel the "Children of Lehi" are coming home to the land of their inheritance. Many of my friends and family feel it also goes against the Church itself to oppose mass immigration and Trump's wall. There is a talk by L. Tom Perry where he begins his talk with an anecdotal story about Europe and it's mass immigration policies run amuck in his April 2005 Conference talk titled "What seek ye?" That story helped me develop some further clarity for myself.

The Constitution is NOT a suicide pact where We agreed to have the federal government make ALL decisions for Us and if We are “really good “ We will turn the government and the country over to whoever says they want it . The original vision of the FF which placed a premium on free citizens voting for what is best for the country..following the law , being a good citizen etc ..IS righteous . We are being lied to that to not only tolerate but encourage chaos , lawlessness and diversity above All else is being “Christlike “ . It is definitely a weakness in the Church .

IMO - The problem with viewing man as someone who can be transformed from outside of himself is that it provides a ready pretext for a tyrant to use force to transform institutions and societal structures in pursuit of the transformation which creates the ideal man. ... Marxism believes that the ends justify the means. The greatest lesson of history is that the means creates the ends.

At 26:59. As a sociologist I take offence that the field is not a social science. Sociology is a social science and uses rigorous methods to understand social groups and human behavior. Many departments of sociology have become departments of woke ideology. I predicted in the early 1990s that postmodernism would be a disaster in universities. We can see the results in 2024. We have social justice warriors running around campus, who are enemies of free speech. There is a general wokeness on campus in many departments (including sociology). Many of my older colleagues have retired early given the current climate. The Lindsay Shepherd case at Wilfrid Laurier University and Jordan Peterson case at the University of Toronto were some of the motivating factors to leave an occupation they loved.

The word "warriors" attached to social justice, or even "Justice" attached to social delivered the advancement of the "their" (the devil's plan through humans who want to control) agenda. I wonder if it can be traced back who fed it into society. No doubt it was on purpose and to get young adults to believe they were oppressed and had to fight. It's so obvious to those of us who are just watching from outside of the events and aren't among the students and universities but only comparing it to decades ago.

This is how we fight: enter our prayer closets, put on the armor of God, and speak in the Name of Jesus Christ - with His power and His authority and call the enemy down! Christ's Atonement gave Him ALL power! Our enemy is already defeated, but not yet removed from this earth. We who are the Lord's covenant children; sons and daughters of the Most High; disciples of Jesus Christ walk with Him. This earth is the Lord's and He has given dominion of it to His children. Our enemy and his doctrine, powers, authorities, and influence have no place here. We cast them out in the beginning through the power and authority of the Lamb. It is our calling and duty to do so here. Let us not confront our brothers and sisters. Let us not speak against the Lord's annointed. Speak against Satan and his host and cast them out! Cast them out of the lives of our family and friends who have succumbed to their lies and deceptions. Awake and arise - that is a commandment from our Lord!
