    Hi, thanks to this vid I fixed it.
    Different to you though, I didn't fully remove all the panels. I just removed enough to gain access. Also I removed, inspected and cleaned the pump and motor,dried with hair dryer, then reassembled with a water sealant on all pipe joints. Did the trick on a 200k miler.
    Just a tip for anyone though, don't waste time testing the motor operation with the bonnet open as it has to be shut for operation! Found out the long way!!!
    Thanks again and good video. 🙂

    Thanks man. I just drove up to cypress a couple of weeks ago with the cold and all of a sudden I got low wiper fluid. Refilled when I got back to kits. Full bottle refill at the gas station. Drive back up again a few days later and then I got it again. I wasn't sure how to attack it. I've seen your other vids on Passat b6 and it helped. Your vid coverage on this couldn't be any more timely. Thanks!

    MK2 washer pump took me 45 seconds to replace, using one flat head screwdriver and a lighter to heat up the hose to make it pliable in -10C weather. This B6 Passat DIY would take me 1.5 hours with common hand tools. Horrible pump placement & Thomas makes it look easy! Two thumbs up !!

  • @jedrula77

    I'm losing 3/4 of the fluid in the bi-xenon tank. Later it does not diminish but the reserve is very small liquid. And quite quickly starts to squeak the signal and the control from the fluid to the windows lights up.
    I'm guessing it's a gasket between the tanks. I am looking for such an event as to go about it. At the thought of pulling out both tanks already ... beautiful ...

    • @EXOVCDS

      Yes, you might have to remove a bunch of stuff to gain access.. but the leak should be easy to spot at that point.

    My dealer shop has fixed this leak for 4 times already and it keeps coming back. Once it lasted a couple of weeks but mostly it begins leaking again in few days. I might just take a look there myself as repair bills for this supposedly minor issue can be counted in hundreds of euros already.

    • @EXOVCDS
      @EXOVCDS  Před 5 lety +1

      As cars get older, different parts of the system can leak. The bottles can leak along the seam, the pumps will eventually separate and leak, the grommets (including level sensor), the valves (as in this video). It could be that each time it's a new / different leak... but I understand your frustration. You should have no problem checking things yourself. Lift & support the vehicle safely and have a look at what you can spot.

    Thomas I love watching your videos but how you can work with that light in all your vids I will never know just seems such a unnatural light

    • @EXOVCDS
      @EXOVCDS  Před 6 lety +1

      The camera(s) are oversensitive to extra light... would have probably been ok without the light. Problem is I don't know when I don't need it... so I end up using it more than I need to. Maybe I'll try a couple vids without it, just to get a baseline.

    • @pr0xZen
      @pr0xZen Před 6 lety

      Yeah I'm pretty sure thats some partial overexposure and saturation , pretty common for most digital camera footage when white and UV light (not just LEDs, HID 5000K+ too) makes everything look blue in the footage, at least the exposed area.

    • @EXOVCDS
      @EXOVCDS  Před 5 lety

      In this case, it was the pump (I think that was made clear in the video)... sometimes it's the grommet in the bottle (I think that was made clear in the video)... when replacing the pump, it's best to replace the grommet as well (can't remember if that was made clear in the video). If the leak is not coming from the pump, could be bottle, level sensor, or one of the grommets.
