    For a moment I thought he forgot to say the patented "how exciting"

    Remember its not solved if there is no box around it

    x^(5/16)=32 also works. just rewrite everything as x^1/2 and divide the exponents

    1:51 oh cool, the amount of VRAM my kids are going to ask from me when they are building their Gaming PC's

      For a moment I thought you meant 65536GB. I'm sure your kids would love that, but I doubt you have the GDP of a small country in the bank to pay for it. And maybe their kids or grandkids might see a consumer machine with that amount of memory in it. (And Google Chrome will still take it all.)

    I found this one highly useful and most cool of the many cooler algebraic operations solved by Andy in a simpler way.

    Really cool seeing 2^10, 2^20, and 2^16! As a software engineer, these numbers are all units of storage I am VERY familiar with! They are (in order): 1 KB, 1 MB, and 64 KB. 🙂

      Not to be that guy, but 1KiB, 1MiB, 64KiB.
      They're kibibytes and mebibytes, not kilobytes and megabytes
      (10**3 != 2**10) (10**6 != 2**20)

    Do the cubed root of z plus the cubed root of z plus the square root of z. All nested. Also, great vid

    Can you see if you can try and the range of the function f(x) = (x+5)/(x-2) algebraically? It will be really helpful

    I did basically the same thing, I made 32 into 3^5, but I did the slower method of reshuffling everything after each squaring.

    Too messy and all over the place. Why not start from one point and be consistent? For example start from the bottom: power 1-½=½ which becomes ¼. 1-¼=¾. ¾ becomes ⅜. 1-⅜=⅝. ⅝ become 5/16. Extract root 5 from both sides, bring both sides to the power of 16 and voila, 65536! No hoping all over the place and getting crazy numbers. 2⁸⁰...
