Don Bellisaro hit the nail on the head with JAG, truly one of the great shows of the 90’s. Always use to enjoy the beginning of the show with Dinozzo setting up his coworkers or vice versa. It was a series a veteran of the Navy and Marine Corps could be proud of.

Even worse how the mains were brought back in NCIS. Harm and Mac not together, kinda fell into old routines. To me it felt like the characters actually regressed. I was okay with Mac, but she grated my nerves at times. Hated Harm leaving the service for her. He should be an admiral. XO is fine but not at that stage of his career.

It is extraordinarily unusual for any US TV show to reach 10 seasons. The fact that we have 10 seasons of such a high-quality show as ‘JAG’ is just wonderful. Donald Bellisario produced a lot of fine TV, but ‘JAG’ was his finest effort. The one thing I regret is that Tom Selleck (as an older Thomas Sullivan Magnum) never appeared in an episode of ‘JAG’. That would have been awesome. It would have been a synthesis of Bellisario’s two best shows.

JAG was one of my all time favorite TV shows. As the seasons progressed the writing got better and the actors grew into the characters they portrayed.
I always loved the holiday episodes, and I loved how believable and human the characters were. It was the best military themed dramas ever, and I still miss it.
A couple of corrections: Sarah Mc Kensey was a Major, ( later a Lt. Colonel), not a Lieutenant.
Secondly, JAG was never filmed aboard the John F Kennedy. The JFK was an Atlantic fleet carrier based on the east coast, too far from Hollywood. Almost all of the series footage was stock footage as explained. The interior shots were sound stage sets.

That would be Dominic Santini or Ernest Borgnine irl, and I agree, Airwolf was cool as hell, but JAG was a great show as well! Thanks for clearing up the mystery of the 'hurried' ending! We were sooo disappointed - it could have been a fantastic send off with lots of earlier characters coming to DC for the big wedding. We loved the characters and the insight into the world lf the Navy and Marine Corps The romance between Bud and Harriet was absolutely charming and the 'Mulder and Scullyesque' relationship with Harm and Sarah was tantalising! Jennifer Coates was such a beautiful and slightly quircky character - so stylish in her uniform! Loved it all!! We also love NCIS, but not so much the spin offs. We have every episode of both shows on DVD.... One thing both shows highlight is the well known fact that GIRLS CAN DO ANYTHING, but don't 'throw the baby out with the bathwater'. XXX

JAG was a great show ... as a 35-year military member, I always appreciated the accuracy of the uniforms and the dedication to customs, courtesies, and decorum. I had an opportunity to work with Catherine Bell on "Army Wives" as a DoD technical advisor. I worked with Catherine for a full day. I told her how the military appreciated the accuracy and she was humbly appreciative that it was noticed ...she was also able to belt out full lines of UCMJ legalese while we were waiting to set up the next scene ... even without that, Mac was my favorite character.

    I miss JAG.
One of the few shows Mom and I sat and watched together. Usually I was out working or at my house tinkering in the garage. JAG night was the night Mom would cook dinner and I spent TV time with her. I love the aircraft scenes. Secretly I think Mom had a quiet crush on Harm. Right after the last episode, Mom got sick. She hung on till 2009.
JAG means a lot to me since I'm a workaholic and JAG made sure I unplugged for a bit and spent an evening with my mom.
I will agree Mark Harmon's version Is intriguing and I did watch the 1st season but it's just not the same as JAG. I say its the best of all the spin offs. I was really hoping that they would have done a cross over with JAG and we would have seen more of them even though it wasn't full episodes of the jag crew to show how each side has their own part in the investigation in court process.
I hoped at some point they would do a JAG 2.0 knowing Harm and the rest probably would be retired military by now so it would be the next generation.

I start watching in 1995. By the last season the show felt different with more new characters. In hindsight it seemed the producers gave them a way to continue with a new cast if contracts were not reached. I think ending the show was the better call. All the characters grew over the 10 years and it was time for Harm and Sarah to get promoted out of the office for a command position. I think it was a nice natural end to the show. It was faithful to accurate portrayal, sometimes too hard for non military, even anti US Military civilians to “deal with” in my estimation. Now in the current world situation I’m mostly disgusted with our nations geo political attitudes with suppression of freedom of speech, Constitutional Republic, anti American sentimentalism of “elected representatives” whom eschew the values & principles on which our country was founded. I’m a Christian man, disabled veteran of the US Naval Reserve, Grandfather of 7 Grandchildren...I still salute our Nations Flag proudly & oft my eyes will tear up at the playing of our National Anthem! Watched Jag and NCIS. Liked both, and made me lookup The uniform code of military justice to keep up with the show. Former Air Force.

It would be great if Paramont would put the missing episodes back on their platform.

I was a fan of both JAG and NCIS. I planned my Tuesday, so I can get off work by 7 pm to watch the show at 8pm.

Harm was my favorite character. But the brunette female lead was in an episode on a beach in Australia. The best bikini look including Baywatch.

That episode was in season 5. If the bikini scenes affected the series, it would have ended much sooner.

Correction: Sara Mackenzie was never a Lieutenant on the show. She was introduced as a Major when the show was rebooted by CBS. She is also the spitting of Harmon Rabb’s dead girlfriend from his Academy days. Catherine Bell played that part too in the first season finale that was never aired on NBC. It was intended to be a cliffhanger.
The show focused heavily on the fate of Harm’s father who was shot down over North Vietnam on 25 Dec 1969 in the series' early years. I
I was a big fan of the show and I followed NCiS until recently. I’ve been watching Gutfeld! instead.

I did not read all of the comments but you should of covered that the characters got to clean up some of those lose ends in NCIS Los Angeles when Harm and Mac returned....

Now it makes sense starting with new characters after Season 1 cancelled by NBC, when Catherine Bell came in and Tracy Needham left...Season 1 had an abrupt ending, when Harm was arrested for murder at a Navy Woman (ironically played by Catherine Bell)..And season 2 started with a complete new story....The resolution only came in Season 3....

JAG was my favorite. I always loved it & even when the the characters showed up in the NCIS shows. You could tell the show had a quick, unplanned ending, either the actors quit or it had gotten cancelled, as the last season & ending seemed so rushed.

I grew up watching JAG, and even continued watching the spin off shows. Like many I wish they had done a few cross overs with NCIS besides having mostly Bud and AJ be the only connection.
I also wish the streaming services would put all episodes, not break up the second season and on another start on the fifth.
Both my parents served, but that was AF and Army, though Grandfather was a Seabe, though I have many cousins who are or were Marines.
