Thank you for this! I was hoping you would do an updated tutorial, as I followed your first tutorial and it was incredibly helpful. Because of your tutorial I can now finish a very simple PNGTuber Plus rig in like ~6 hours. Now I'm looking to upgrade my rigs with sprites so this is perfect timing. Thank you again!
I use Warudo for my 3D vtube model, and you going over the making sure the "allow transparency" button was toggled on helped me fix why I just had a black background! T-T Thank you
make sure you have it set to talking only! i cover how to make sure all your mouth toggles are set correctly in my first tutorial (linked in description)
thank you so much for your awesome videos! made making my pngtuber so easy! i do have a question so if anyone knows feel free to chime in! Pngtuber+ has recently updated and i have no clue where the bounce feature is! if anyone could tell me that would be super double knuckily awesome! love yall!
I personally haven't messed with more frames yet, but as long as your mouth forms are distinct, thicker lips or not shouldn't have too much an effect on clarity. I stuck with o, e, and a vowel forms since they're pretty distinct and easy to read at a smaller scale!
Help me how the hell i supposed to turn off (hide) these audio tracks down below with the name of the app so it wont be visible in pngtuber+???? sno one is actually telling what shall i press so lower display disepppears. I do really need help with that
Edit: Nvm! Had to change the spritesheet into "Horizontal"! Hello! I loved your video! But i still don't really understand the sprite sheet thingy! When i add it as a png, it's it's just several mouths all over the screen instead of the loop
could you elaborate where you're trying to add the folder? is this in your local directory in file explorer? if so, hit escape in editing mode and it should pop up your local directory there. drag and drop any new folders and restart PNGtuber+ if its not showing
Hello, Is it possible for the mouth animation to stop moving when you're screaming or something? Since its a one long syllable there's supposed to be no mouth flaps.
unfortunately no; there's no way to track either by volume or my mouth motions the best workaround is to actually just make a separate expression toggle with the mouth just open and manually toggling to that if immersion is your priority (but it does get annoying to remember to toggle)
You can! Make expressions normally (each one with its own eyes open, eyes closed, mouth open, and mouth closed variants) and assign them to their respective blinking/talking. Afterwards, assign those items to specific toggles and you'll have expressions!
Hoi! Am i allowed to ask for questions? When i move my curser, my character twitches and wiggles/bounces. Sometimes like CRAZY and then later on keeps on twitching... how do i stop that??
Check if your mic is calibrated correctly! It's possible your mic is actually picking up on every small noise; if you have the bounce animation enabled, it'll make it look like your character is bouncing uncontrollably. I go over how to calibrate your mic input in PNGtuber+ in my first tutorial here: czcams.com/video/-YNrx8Ws0Zo/video.htmlsi=9SVxJoKoDryXae0R&t=973 If that doesn't fix it, check that none of your X and Y frequencies are set to something extremely high. If those values are normal, exist editing mode, click on the cog in the bottom right, and limit the FPS as the default might be too high.
when i leave my pngtuber+ open for too long it shows all of the toggles at the same time, so my model has 3 different expressions layered on top of eachother does anyone know how or why that might happen??
This sounds like toggles weren't set up to be mutually exclusive, or you didn't disable extra toggle states in settings (which have everything enabled by default and are easy to hotkey to) For disabling hotkey slots (the blue boxes labelled 1-10 at the bottom of the physics panel in editing mode) enter VIEW mode and click the ⚙️ icon; you should see the option to change the hotkey bindings. Click the little X in the corner of any hotkeybind that you are not using. i.e., if you only have enough toggles/expressions to fill 3 of the 10 slots, diable 4-10 Double check that you set up your toggles to be mutually excusive without overlap; this is easiest to do with the 10 blue toggle states previously mentioned rather than the general keybind option (as that one is not mutually exclusive)
yes, always has! you can check out part one of this tutorial just set up your talking/blinking rules for each expression: czcams.com/video/-YNrx8Ws0Zo/video.htmlsi=Pyi5dkfsLHugDljT&t=540 (timestamped) and then assign each expression to a toggle: czcams.com/video/-YNrx8Ws0Zo/video.htmlsi=Y7UEGxyrkC1jT2zm&t=914 (timestamped)
I can’t get my sprite mouths sheet to work it just shows all three of them at the same time when I talk I have it set up to 3 frames but still doesn’t work
When i tried to add the sprite sheets the eyes and mouth kept moving from left to right instead of being overlapped. pls help ;-; wut did i do wrong lol ;-;
For each set of emotions, you'll need additional eyes open, eyes closed, mouth open, and mouth closed layers prepared. You can check my first tutorial for more details: czcams.com/video/-YNrx8Ws0Zo/video.htmlsi=muD6k-pGYPDY61BE 9:02 will tell you how to set up talking/blinking frames 15:13 will go over setting up toggles. Different emotions can be set by assigning new talking/blinking layers to each emotion, then assigning those to specific toggles. Please note that since PNGtuber+ was made in Godot, if you are not actively tabbed into the program, toggle hotkeys will not work.
Thanks for the tut! Love the new update too! But I need help, my software keeps crashing when I try to hook up my laptop’s default mic. Anybody got any suggestions??
@@tsurudraws I already tried to see my mic perms, but I already gave it access. Also I dowloaded my pngtuber+ from steam, so how do you download the older version?
I think you might have to make sure the sprite sheet is under 10MB, I was testing with a sprite sheet of 36 frames. Once I got over 10MB I kept getting a black box when importing into PNGTUBER plus. After I scaled all the frames down, it imported correctly.
BEFORE i go into this, if i wanted to do theses as commissions, can u export the rigged version for others? So i can manually do everything and just send it as finished?
The sprite sheets are so cool. There's so much that could be done with a model. Thanks for the updated tutorial! ♥
I literally had no idea the animated sprite support was added, this is exactly what I wanted! Thanks a ton for making this tutorial!
Thank you so much for both of your tutorial videos - they really helped me figure things out! Especially the animation part, lol 🎉❤
Wild that I found this organically on my recommended
HI CHRONO
that is actually crazy lmfao
THANK YOU!! I've been looking everywhere for someone that explained the animation thingy

Thank u for posting the update! time to update my pngtuber sprite love ur content!
thank you so much for your support! 💖
hoping to make more tutorials for other programs as i learn them thoroughly 🙏
I've been trying to figure out the spacing for the animation! Thank you so much for this!
I WAS VERY IMPATIENT FOR THIS TUTORIAL THANK YOUUUUUU!!!! ❤❤❤

thank you for the video!! was wondering how the frame animations worked ^^
thank u sm for this!
would you recommend three sprites or higher for mouth movements that include thicker lips?
I personally haven't messed with more frames yet, but as long as your mouth forms are distinct, thicker lips or not shouldn't have too much an effect on clarity.

the interface will automatically disappear as long as you are not actively selected on the window!
what do you recommend for a canvas size for a character for pngtuber+ ? one that doesn't overload a pc/laptop.
Edit:
Nvm! Had to change the spritesheet into "Horizontal"!

When I try to insert the new folder for my pngtuber stuff I can’t seem to insert it, idk what to do can you help me ? TT-TT

if so, hit escape in editing mode and it should pop up your local directory there. drag and drop any new folders and restart PNGtuber+ if its not showing
Did you use the sprite sheet method for the hand movements as well?
i did!
@@tsurudraws cool! I’ll be using it for that as well. Thanks so much!

using the same animated sprite workflow, make a duplicate of each thing you want line boil for and add them as a 2-3 frame sprite sheet
Is there anyway to add diff set emotions or whatsoever? I can’t rlly see an option for it

For each set of emotions, you'll need additional eyes open, eyes closed, mouth open, and mouth closed layers prepared.

not quite following what outfit changer you mean; are you asking about specific toggles?

try seeing if the program still crashes on an older version of pngtuber+? + check permissions or see if your mic works normally in other programs

As someone else has commented, too large a sprite sheet will cause the program to crash

when you finish rigging and save your model, you should have a .save file; just send this file to your client!
