12:47 - Applying physics
15:12 - Setting up toggles

Some various tips and tricks I couldn't find a good place (or forgot) to mention:
🗑If you delete a parent layer, ALL linked child layers will also be deleted!
This is how we delete the default model all at once at 7:00
⚠There is no undo button (afaik of)! Save and overwrite your model frequently while working!
You can always load an older version, or save duplicates as you go.
⌨You can use your arrow keys to adjust physics! Click on the slider you're adjusting, then use left/right to fine tune.
Make sure you select a slider first though or nothing will happen lol
🛠When capturing PNGtuber+ as a game window in OBS/SLOBS, make sure you have transparency enabled!
Otherwise, you'll get a black backdrop behind your PNGtuber.
I'll add more mini tips as I remember them, but thank you for taking the time to watch this tut!
Hey, I know you made his video a long time ago but, I would need help with sizing, for some reason it opened very large and I cant find any help on this
Hello! Apologies for the late response but the ideal size range should be under 850 pixels in height; I mention it briefly in the video as well. You should be able to zoom out in the program by holding CTRL + mousewheel.
@@tsurudraws Thank you very much!
Went from having no idea how to make anything do anything or how to read what the functions even do... to now I drew up my own custom model that floats, stretches, squashes, has rotating limbs, toggling, and all that. Now, all I gotta do is make another one!
I have no practical use for a pngtuber but I've successfully created one of my oc and it is bringing me so much joy 😂💖 Thank you for this wonderful tutorial
SDIUHFIAU A few of my friends who don't stream make PNGtubers for OC roleplay/DND sessions! Glad this was helpful!
Oh that's so cute, how do they configure that among everyone??
@@birdghosting they just each open up their pngtubers in their respective programs and do a multiscreenshare discord call! that way it looks like their OCs are talking to each other
@@tsurudraws Ohhhh!! I see, that's really cute 😮
Omg I love that
That fullbody chibi at the beginning is absolutely majestic ✨
Thank you!! That was actually my test PNGtuber and I made it a little TOO complex 😂😂😂
@@tsurudraws Well, it's definitely the perfect example of "You can start simple BUT once you master it, you can make something as cool as this!"
Just used this tutorial to make my own little PNGtuber! Thank you so much for this video it was so beginner friendly. It really shows how easy it is to make you own if you're ok with having something super simple. Of course getting a quality detailed one requires honed art skills but for just playing around? Im happy with my blobby little dude that blinks and bounces as I talk. And its so exciting when you can do something for yourself.
I'm so glad it helped! My goal with these guides is always to make the learning curve a little easier 💖
I just want to say thank you SO much for this tutorial. For the last couple of days I've been working on my pngtuber, and I'm almost done! Your tutorial has helped SO much, so thank you!!
I was looking at the art, and the finishing up lineart and colour part followed, and i looked over at the number of layers and nearly cried, im not organised enough for this, but I will eventually be willing to take it up :") Thank you for the tutorial
It'll feel like a lot, especially if you're very new to cutting layers! Cheering you on! You can always make a backup copy of your refined layers, and then merge some components further!
Just CAME BACK to tell you how helpful this tutorial was ! My PNGtuber looks absolutely adorable thanks to you~ Everything from the explanation to the edition was *chef kiss* . Thanks a lot again for making such good content !!!
hablo español...
muchas gracias por tu tutorial, es el más completo que vi hasta ahora, me encanto demasiado y te agradesco mucho,
dibujas muy bien y tienes mucho talento
Step 1: know how to draw
There is a tutorial on how to draw under 100hr from nerdforge. It's really good and practical 😊
I am a young artist but my edit are incredible.
You can definitely do PNGtuber avatars with other mediums
Like I just created a very basic avatar with 4 renders of my Bionicle OC
Commission
Yeah?
I'd never heard of this pngtuber software til now and I'm amazed at what it can do, also your pngtubers look so cool!! thank you for the very comprehensive and easy to understand video, I will definitely be exploring it in the future!
This is amazing! You explain all so nicely, and I love your art so much 💚. Thank you for sharing!
i saw the vid on twitter and I NEVER FELT THIS HAPPY TO HAVE TWITTER HOLY FU- THANK YOU!
A friend sent me this video while I was talking about having a model on-stream and I just finished my first one with the help of this video, thank you so much!
It’s been a great guide to work with! :D
THANK YOU so MUCH! I was confused about the toggling feature and you're the only one I've found
who goes into it in details. I now understand it completely. Ty ty ty!
best tutorial by far ! and so complete ! bonus point for the pokémon bgm ^^
underated channel. your art is so good and the tutorial is so beginner friendly thank you so much
thank you so much! im hoping to make more in the future~
Honestly, this is super super helpful and so detailed! I am definitely going to give making my own pngtuber a shot using this guide
thank you so much for this! I’ve wanted to make videos/stream with a pngtuber or vtuber character for a while and this is probably the easiest way I have found :D
Absoltely loved this tutorial, the explanations are so detailed and helpful (also i LOVE the character design on your png tuber, the little bouncy cat gives one serotonin boost after the other :"))
Thank you so much for making this Video!!
Thank you so much!!! I was super scared to jump into this bc I thought it would be really complicated but your guide was super easy to follow and helped a lot :DD I managed to set mine up super quickly after I drew all the parts thanks to your help :)
absolutely brilliant guide!! Had my little froggie up and running in like 20 minutes, easy to understand explanations with excellent on screen info to compliment the spoken words. Definitely subbing and looking forward to future videos!!
glad it was helpful! please look forward to more shenangians from me!
i feel like this is a really good option for those who want to be vtubers but don't have high end PCs or good camera tracking
your tutorial is the only one that helped me figure this whole thing out
This was so helpful and cool! I want to be a pngtuber while I prepare for my actual debut and grow an audience so I’m grateful for this video!
THANK YOU so much for this video omg I was STRUGGLING with the official written tutorial so bad and this actually helped me in ways that one could not.
What an excellent, well-explained tutorial. I have zero experience with this but I feel confident that I wont have any trouble making my own avatar now. Thank you!
this is such a thorough and helpful tutorial!
Wonderfully explained and now... I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY MAKING MY OWN. Thank you for this! I was always so scared to try this program out cuz new things freak me out. But watching you do it step by step, makes me feel safe to try it hahaha
enjoy!! i have a discord server as well if you ever need help troubleshooting (should be in video description or on my twt) best of luck making your own!!
This is so useful! Thanks for the tutorial! I want to add more expressions for the toggle, so I’m learning as I go 😅
This is the first time I see your content and I must say I loved your art style!!!
Thanks for the video it was very useful!!!
Oh man this is perfect for me just starting out wanting a PNGtuber. Thank you so much for the guide!
This tutorial was SUPER useful! The software seemed a bit daunting but I got my avatar up and running in no time, thank you so much!
This tutorial was so fun to follow and made this process really easy, thank you! Id love to see your process for the higher-detail model you showed, but all-in-all, this was great! thanks!
I unfortunately didn't record my process for that, but it was identical to the mini one I made for the tutorial! Just a lot more time spent on the art itself LMAO
@@tsurudraws alright! Ill give it a shot!
OMG you don´t know how long Ive been looking for something like this! thank you very much!!!
you're very welcome!
very well explained, thank you!
one posted about pngtubers, and felt the urge to create one. just finished mine watching ur tutorial. tysm !
Thank youuuuuu, i love to start adding this service in my commissions it looks so funnnn! ♡♡♡♡
Fantastic and detailed tutorial. thank you so much!
This is so helpful thank you so much!!
Wonderful tutorial. Thank you for making this!
this was incredibly easy to follow & digest. thank you!
extremely helpful guide, thank u
Create an animation folder and make a timeline,
Animation> edit track> Assing multiple cells (B)
Assing cell by name
File> export animation (Y) > Export animation cells
pick PNG and where you want to save
Thanks for this my dear! I hope I can understand this tutorial now that I am starting out as a PNGTuber.
Here's a tip for exporting! In CSP if you save the file as a .psd you can import it to krita and use the macro there to export everything as layers! Took me less time to download krita than to export even half of the layers last time i did this in csp lol.
This is AWESOME THANK YOU!!!!!!
Right when I was needing something like this!
Great video!! thank you so much!
Awesome tutorial!!
Great tutorial!
great tut!! thank you!!
Amazing, thank you!
Thank you this was super helpful
I'm gonna be da talk of da town thanks to u 😎
lol thanks for the tutorial, i felt like i was dealing with a mythical fae that wanted several years off my life before i could get this to work
this is cute! didnt know this exist! gonna subs for other new stuff!
while this video didn't answer 100% of my questions (I'm still wrestling the mic sensitivity - it seems to detect my fan better than my voice despite full speaking volume directly into the mic???), this 100% clarified the confusing UI and made the whole app feel much more intuitive. I still wish I could pan my camera view though without moving the whole avatar lol
PNGtuber+ has very limited audio adjustments; if its detecting your fan consistently, see where the green bar peaks on average while not speaking; adjust the slider to the left of that peak to help reduce background noise.
Does your mic have directional sensitivity? If so, check that its facing you properly. Would also recommend double checking that you have the right mic detected in PNGtuber+
Thanks for the tutorial! I love this program so far. It reminds me of emofuri but in English.
I'll have to look into that! I'm always on the look out for new lightweight programs~
Super cool!
This is by far the best tutorial I’ve seen for setting up a pngtuber!! also I CANNOT place what Pokémon city theme it is at around 6:00-7:00 and it’s driving me insane 😭
This is an awesome video. I now have a cute lil dude. Thank you so much
I wish I watched this before starting to make a PNGTuber, I realized I went about this all wrong :') TY for the tutorial!
better late than never! hope this helped resolve some of the issues!
OOOOOH! THANK YOU 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Thank you
Awesome chill drawing stream 😁👍
Goated video
THANK GOD U EXSIST
Nice vid!
I made my first one and she's fantastic. But I didn't separate her layers at all- so now I need to remake her for my friend to rig AHAHA
SLAYYYY
For some reason I forgot blinking, when I tried adding it, after I added all of the other png's, it won't show in the file directory.
I did a little bunny slime :3
Thank you for the tutorial! I have a question if anyone can answer - How do you cut for long hair? If I want the neck to be long so the body can move, I don't know where to put the long hair (with the head? half with the body?) Thank you!
Thanks! I succeeded making a Vtubing avatar for my boyfriend ^-^
my face when you said you were skipping over the coloring process: 👁👄👁
squash in mouth is cool
Very good tutorial!!!, tho I have to say I spend about 20 minutes trying to delete the example model, and it's still there, somehow the trash can doesn't work, acually nothing on the editing part works
i would definitely reinstall the program (fully delete first) and make sure you're on version 1.3 at minimum
Thx for the beatiful video is really well made
sort of! you can use animated sprite sheets to create a spinning effect
I go over this in part 2 of my tutorial here (timestamped)
czcams.com/video/sclshhEgShw/video.htmlsi=BE1wMML8WRlDxQ-P&t=127
as a heads up though, i believe the program plays sprites forward, then reverse, rather than continuously looping through from beginning to end, so motions that only go in one direction like spinning might not read very clearly!
will you do a tutorial about complex pngtubers in pngtuber plus? :o
I might make a mini guide for how to do more complex things, but everything is fundamentally the same as the basics!
I know how to draw but I'm SOOOO LAZYYYYYY. I wanna make a pngtuber of my self-insert but it's TROUBLESOME. My laziness is one of the reasons why I don't make my own vtuber model 😂
Great tutorial! I cant wait to try this myself! Is there a way to export or save the model with all the physics settings and such for commissions? This looks like it would be a great alternative option! With Live2D models you would rig them in one program then open them in something like Vtube studio but this looks like it's all under one application 🤔
Yes you can! Save all the individual sprites + the .sav file in a folder and send that to the client. As of 1.2, I believe users can navigate to that folder and load in the model normally.
I would recommend having them drop the folder into the same parent directory as the defaultAvatar that loads up when you first open the program; just makes it a bit easier to find later!
@@tsurudraws Thanks a million! I'm working on drawing up a model now, I can't wait to play with this software! I appreciate you!
I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but how do you record your PNG Tuber to put over a youtube video? Wonderful tutorial by the way, thorough and easy to follow along!
In OBS/SLOBS (or whichever streaming/recording program you're using), capture the PNGtuber+ window as a game window with "Allow Transparency" checked
If you minimize the window at anypoint tho, it'll go inactive so just keep it up in the background.
I recorded mine over other assets while making voiceovers and edited the rest together, but there is no transparency support for a separate export.
@@tsurudraws thank you for the explanation and for the timely reply
I'm having problems with my png tuber, when I click on the left tab it closes, no matter which option I click on it closes, I can't delete items or configure it, does anyone have any idea what could be happening?
i exported my layers as .ora files then changed it to a zip file and pulled each layer out
is there a way to send the entire finished model (with physics and everything linked) to someone? im learning how to do this for a commission and just wanted to see if i would have to rig it or if the client will have to figure it out themselves. thank you for the tutorial btw !!
once you're done rigging, just send them the .save file and tell them to drop it in yge PNGtuber+ directory
I'd recommend including values for bounce force/gravity settings though since these don't carry over in rigging.
Cute. I'am Brazilian ✌️💖🇧🇷
I HEARD YOU SKIP THE ROUT 209 MUSIC FROM POKEMON D&P😭😭😭
Hey! Awesome tutorial :D Thanks so much
Does anyone know how to toggle transparency in OBS?
edit: i found it myself haha. thanks anyways
Great tutorial!!
I was wondering how could I set 3 frames of blinking? Is it possible?
its possible, but won't be consistent; you can add a 2 frame blink for eyes closed, and up the frame rate/speed by a LOT
theoretically, it'll sometimes play fast enough during a blink to mimic a 3 frame effect
otherwise, you can set a manual animation that isnt tied to blink/open at all with 3 unique frames (eyes open, eyes half lidded, eyes closed) and use a LOT of repeat eyes open frames as filler
the model's reaction is delayed. does anyone know how to fix it? TT
Hi I was wondering if you would go into your process of recording your pngtuber/pngtuberplus animation? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but OBS seems to cause lag and a significant quality drop in windows recordings. 💕😭
i kinda wish the program could do bigger models
can i do this in firealpaca?
edit update: fire alpaca is awesome!! you can export all the files as animation files as long as none of them are in folders (folders will be merged automatically) hope this helps whoever sees this comment
So we are limited to two states for mouth animation, mouth open and mouth closed? I animate my character right in OBS using the OBS move plugin, and I have 4 states for the mouth from closed to open. The animation is much smoother and better looking.
Just two states, but you can add animated mouth forms using animation sprites! I go over it in my part 2 tutorial: czcams.com/video/sclshhEgShw/video.htmlsi=vK7uzF1WwSvS536j
@@tsurudraws Thanks will check that out!
Do you need all the different layers? Nothing in my first png tuber will be moving. I have the main 4 frames. (Eyes open/mouth closed ; eyes closed/ mouth closed; eyes open/ mouth open; and eyes closed/ mouth open) and now im worrying about if i have to redraw everything
you can have as many different layers as you want additional freedom to animate/rig components separately; i.e. splitting hair for more motion, limbs for rotational animation, etc
you won't have to redraw anything as long as you're fine with very limited animation/expressions.
add "00:00 - intro " to make timestamp chapter :D
Thank you for letting me know! Chapter timestamps should be showing properly now!
How do you get detected on the virtual cam discord? Can it?
Are there going to be plans for tutorials adding and creating your own alternate costumes?
perhaps, if there's enough requests for it! full outfit changes use the same set up as toggles/hot keys, especially on the current most version of PNGtuber+
Is it possible to have a set of different expressions like in the veadotube? Also, can you make a tutorial of how the different outfit sets work?
See 15:12 for toggling.
For expression toggles, you'll need to assign each set of expression eyes and mouths blinking/talking settings (8:59); once you're done with those, bind each set of expressions to the toggles shown in 15:12.
For clothing/different outfits, import all variations of the outfit you want, and toggle them similarily.
Note that if you want both expressions and outfit toggles, you'll need to reserve a toggle slot for EACH possible combination.
i.e, if you have Expressions A and B, and Outfits 1 and 2, you would need to reserve 4 toggle slots to achieve all the combinations:
A1, A2, B1, and B2. It adds up quickly, so be conservative with how many different outfits and expressions you make!
How would I cut up my drawing if I hadn't originally split up the drawing the way it's supposed to? ;w;
