@@dogfaceponysoldier Ok, so her commend falls under the Vet techs, but she is specifically a food safety officer. Her day to day job is to go out and audit places that produce food for use by the military.

I'm looking forward to your video on a detailed explanation on Army logistics. It's an aspect of military operations that gets overlooked in favor of vehicles/equipment in documentaries despite being more important.

Not a bad job but as a Logistics Officer I couldn’t help but notice a few discrepancies. Your symbols and terms don’t align with ATP 1-02 and more importantly your understanding of the relation between the FSC and BSB seems lacking. The BSB SPO office does not consolidate the FSC’s DISTRO PLT but submits the transportation and movement or logistic support request (TMR/LSR).
On a smaller note; the reason that 82 ABN DIV has all of there BSB attached directly to the Division Sustainment Brigade (DSB) is because they are the “Guinea Pig” for the rest of FORSCOM . Eventually all BSBs will be attached to their DSBs but still serve the same role as directly supporting the maneuver brigade (BDE). Basically the BDE has operational control of the BSB but the DSB commander ultimately evaluates and rates the BSB commander.
Please don’t take this the wrong way. Your video is not bad in any way. as I mentioned earlier noticed only a few discrepancies since I am a LOG officer. Looking forward to seeing your more comprehensive video

      Thanks for the comment.
Fair on the point about the SPO. I wasn't so much commenting on their normal role but a possible task organization. I was told by another log officer that the brigade can take up to 70% of the brigade's transportation assets to help with synchronization brigade-wide and was relaying that tidbit. I will talk more about the SPO's doctrinal role on the main channel but probably glossed over it too much in this one.
On the point about symbology, I don't strictly follow the U.S. Army's style because I want to have a broadly applicable symbolset across countries. Most other countries seem to use a CSS acronym, or generic supply or admin symbols for their sustainment units rather than a combo of SPT/SUST acronyms, so I sort of want to pick just one. Reading French doctrine they use a ton of French-specific acronyms on their unit symbols and as an English speaker I find that to be very confusing, so I imagine a lot of the US Army's abbreviation-heavy symbols are hard to understand for my non-American/English as a 2nd/3rd language audience. But if there are any specific terms/phrases that were grossly misapplied let me know and I'll correct my usage of those in the future
On the 82nd, I suspected they were going back to something more like pre-modular DISCOM with the forward support battalions. Is there anything public written on them being a testbed for BSBs under the DSB? I've only seen that's it's happened but haven't seen anything on the intent, although I've seen log officers talk about wanting their sustainment officers to be rated by other sustainment commanders rather than maneuver

I don’t doubt that the SPO office, working for their BDE can put the request to synchronize all distro assets especially for a BDE operation. I may have miss heard and assumed you meant the SPO was taking Operational control of the distro PLT and not tasking the company instead. That caught my ear because no commander would ever give their assets to a staff shop.
At the moment, I am unable to find anything published on the BSBs move to the DSB. I can get some publications after the 4th once we’re all back in to office, (I’ve seen it mentioned somewhere but can’t remember). If find it I’ll send it your way.
Don’t worry about the symbols. I’m US Army centric but you don’t have to be and using international symbols makes sense for exactly what your putting out.
Like I said in my previous comment I’m glad to see someone take a serious look into military sustainment. I look forward to the main channel video and wish you and if success and views.

Tell him how much BSB leadership lies to BDE about the ESR Report and FMC/NMC fleet status.
I remember reporting weekly that the platoon was 35% FMC average, with little help from maintenance on major repairs above Lvl 10 work.
Then I got into the TOC late stage pre-rotation FTX to see 93% FMC. Lol.
Army needs a separate independent Maintenance Inspector General to audit accuracy of BSB FMC reporting.
A BSB might not even get audited during a CDR's hot seat, but the mere threat of an audit would keep them from lying.
