- Of all songs I revisited for DJ Hero 1, this is the one I remembered the most incorrectly in terms of how fun it actually was. This song and a few others really show off the vibe the series originally had - focusing more on turntablism as a skill.

Fr, this is exactly what I envisioned a "pro" DJH controller would be, minus the still intact turntable buttons. It's as epic as I imagined!

so the taped buttons on the turntables allow you to hit scratch notes without pressing any buttons? impressive setup you have here as someone getting into DJ Hero again in 2024 after playing it for a short time when it released in 2010/2011. A time when I had no internet and a mattress on the floor in my room
Thanks for noticing but it's not quite that. The tape is left as a visual indicator while the platter buttons are inactive. That said, I have the mapping set up to interpret turntable scratching as a button hold simultaneously. Left is bound to green and right is bound to blue. Thank you. The buttons are loose keyboard keys (cherry mx green I think) in a cardboard enclosure. It's connected by a custom wiring job looping into the platter where the original buttons are. PS if I decide to update the controller again I may focus on making new buttons.
