Meanwhile Deep rock galactic has 5 Battlepasses comprised of 100 tiers each, with plenty of Cosmetics like armor and weapon skins as well as crafting materials/ ingame currency.
Plus, each BP has a side pass which has a freeform design where you can loosely choose the order of rewards, with the most notable being new models for every weapon in the arsenal.
And to solidify that it's absolutely god tier, all of the BPs can still be completed since you can now freely choose what season you want to play.
Oh and also DRG is actually fun to play and doesn't damage your mental health

The monetization of this game is killing the game. I used to love this game, I’ve got about 3000 hours total in it, but the recent monetization has led me to quit. The greed of EA is horrendous, and I will NOT play this game I once loved if it keeps being this predatory. I miss old Apex so bad… what happened Respawn?
Why would monetization make you quit? Your still playing the same game, just with less cool looking skins...

Respawn and EA just have no future vision for Apex. Its an amazing game that I've poured hours into but they pull this crap. Instead of shifting from BR to maybe a more competitive or versatile game modes with there amazing characters and movements, or adding in more LTMs. Or just even updating current gamemodes, they make the battlepass cost real money....I honestly don't understand there is so many cool things Respawn could do, especially with having a pretty established ESports scene and instead they actively try to kill their game
Or have an anti-cheat on par with other modern games

How can The Finals (a game with an average of 20000 players) do cheap battlepasses that you only have to buy once but apex legends (a game with an average of over 100000 players) can't. Like they're just milking the remaining player base cause they know the games gonna die soon.

Literally just make it cost apex coins, maybe a little more than before since you get a good amount free to play. Like 1.5k apex coins, or $10 if you want to buy it

Yes, but in my experience (at least in brawl stars) they give out so many free gems, do many community events for free stuff and even put SO many good value offers that I can't blame them for doing it.
Still, I hate the idea of paying irl money for a battle pass, but imo it's more justifiable in Supercell's case

Epic makes so much money from their bps that they can just casually release 13 unique free items related to Metallica of all people. Really wish Apex could be the same, but the money they make is never “enough”. They just want more. there’s no give and take.

I get it but I don’t get it
I quitted playing Apex Legends due to the whole point of the game being that if you want to feel happy playing it you have mostly the classic battle royale with the rotation of the game modes which was mostly for me a buzzkill. Why would I wait 10-20 minutes to let a game mode pass while I wait for the one I really want to play? It should've been something YOU NEED to select, not let the game do it for you. Another thing that made me quit the Apex is mostly because of the skins, battlepass and the micro-transactions. The skins weren't appealing to me anymore and I would say the same thing about every legend after Mad Maggie (with exception being Ballistic) did not feel like they bring anything different. Before I quitted Apex, I did a one time purchase for Apex coins in Season 5 to try for the first time, up until season Arsenal (I had a couple of missed seasons because I would gradually quit and come back, back and forth), buying every battlepass that seemed interesting to grind for, I would finish them from top to bottom so I can have enough coins for the next season's battlepass. I can not say I invested much money into this game. My account is probably worth 10 bucks because I paid only once for the coins and I was good winning the coins back.
Since I've retired from playing Apex, I switched to Fortnite. I know, it's cringe, but for me actually is fine. Idk why the whole hate for this game but I find it more fun to play dressing as your favorite superhero and drop squad with your friends and family. In Fortnite you have 2 sides, skins made by Epic (which honestly are pretty awful) and skins in collaboration with many cinema/media/pop culture characters. You can literally buy the whole kit of your favorite character if you want to play as them. Having fun was my main priority because I consider games as an hobby and something fun to do in your free time.
What I'm trying to say is not to guilt trip or anything. My experience with Apex from Season 0 (when the game first launched) to Season Arsenal was great, I loved the characters and could say I was invested in the story, but the amount of microtransactions and now this change (I might have missed the part about the Exotic shards, I never seen them before) just goes to show that EA's involvement over Respawn Ent.'s Apex Legends, in-game currency is the main priority over the quality of the game. When I first started playing the game I enjoied it because it reminded me so much of Titanfall 2 and at the time since Battle Royale's were fun and still new for me, I would constantly play the game even without the battlepass and main Octane because I like to go head-on with the enemy (and get revived later :)) )
Trust me, I kept watching the trailers and the gameplays and nothing stirred up my curiosity to come back. We literally lost Titanfall 3 over Apex CashGrab.
I haven't played Apex in 3 years mostly because of its monetisation/progression. The majority of battle passes were lacklustre and an insane grind to lvl up. It's extremely unfriendly to new players and impossible to get friends involved because the majority of heroes are locked behind a paywall or an insane grind to unlock most of them. The game is just too far gone to get back in to.
5:24 i think the legends are fairly priced. if you dont want to spend any money on the game you can still unlock legends just by playing, but if you want to get a legend it still costs less than the battle pass, compared to the average, say, fortnite skin that usually costs more. i can understand why some people don't like it, but i think its fair. but still, this new battle pass model is textbook EA and i hope somehow they use the community feedback to improve the game (im essentially wishing for something as impossible as eternal life with that one lol)
I’ve never played apex but yea I like that you can buy characters. There’s no “meta” and all legends are good
@@Bazskua there’s definitely a meta competitive wise, but yeah i generally agree. Since the bloodhound nerf more legends have seen higher value in comp and in pubs practically anyone can be useful

I think they’re doing this because people aren’t buying out all of their events, so they need to make more money. Maybe if they focused on actually giving us good content (Ltms and meta changes), then people would be more willing to buy their skins
You know when a game changes something bought by currency to money the game is going down hill. This change will reduce the people that buy battle passes and in that people since they wont feel pressure to complete it.
Fortnite also went the scummy way with the battle pass pretty recently since you used to be able to earn ALL your vbucks through the regular pass, but now they changed it to where a lot of the vbucks is now almost paywalled by requiring you to reach like level 150 and that’s just not ideal if you’re like me and don’t play the game as much anymore
At this point i dont even want to play competitive multiplayer player games.
Single player co op are more fun even though i always play solo 😅😅

I was planning on making an Apex Legends channel and while I still love this game, I don't even know anymore. This cheater situation is being dealt like Titanfall 2's cheaters, it's not.

This is the final nail in the coffin for me, i already wasn't playing this game since my friends stopped the only thing I came back to was to do battle pass and get the bare minimum of what I can get in the game since I can't keep spending money on the game not in a regular basis but this exactly wants you to do that. So if I can grind battle pass with apex coins now I am not spending any money on this for any of this. They last a customer as me I hope others would that to but knowing apex community I have seen these mf spend there life's money on this i doubt this will negativity affect the game people will keep spending more and more and never ask why, it seems like they realised u can't stright up ask for a lot money for in game cosmetics when the first heirloom droped so now they simple increase the prices so people don't complain and feel like it's only few more dollar each time. Maybe an L on EA but it's gonna be an L on community pretty soon. We have to stop them from using us or there is not point
20$ is a lot for me its like my monthly grocery bill, the game was 50% gacha already and with this its 100% gacha game. Everyone should just save 20$ fund it together and buy game from EA and let community handle the game

I feel like it’s a worse warzone battle pass, where your buying like triple the price for more rewards but warzone base battle pass lets you buy the next one and if buy the premium or “black cell” where you get extra and honestly cooler skins and you can buy the next two if you buy premium. Splitting in half is the stupidest thing ever though.

A lot of people like to defend Apex with the argument of "Oh its a free game, of course they are going to charge for cosmetics, battle passes, etc. However, they completely forget that they arent focused on making the game better as a whole, they are more focused on making the game more and more cosmetic centered. I have about 2600+ hours in Apex and I just haven't been able to bring myself to play it as of late because they handle the game so poorly.

In my opinion the Battlepasses for apex have never been that good outside of the evolving skin and depending on the gun. The Battlepass paid or free was never really the best so I doubt this new format will increase their creativity. From recolors of BP skins to barely getting new recolors in the shop anymore I don’t see how this could be a good think unless every Battlepass was like a collection event. More levels in the BP is also the wrong direction because I always thought they should take out the 101-110 levels and just give you everything at 100
I think the worst part about this is charging real money and making the apex credits worthless for someone like me who just only buys the battlepass in order to get cosmetics

The game is in a terrible state, it's dull and has so many technical issues that it's not funny, and yet EA is more focused on wringing the dollars out of our pockets than fixing the game. The whole point of spending money in a free game is to support the game because we like it, but guess what, WE AIN'T LIKING IT so they don't DESERVE our support. I washed my hands of EA decades ago. There's a plethora of games out there. Why should I support them when I can support an indy dev who's game I will actually enjoy because it's a labor of love rather than assembly line shovel ware.

This made me uninstall the game. I hate it but they just focus on money and nothing else. Like you know what would be great new servers or a solid anti cheat because you know a lot of people have been complaining about that. And respawn are like: Oh sure we can give you battle passes that you have to buy for real money and all those Apex coins you have been getting all these years will be worthless now. God i dont quit apex because of just this change but because of thei approach. They are killing their own game and they all think about money. Respawn you have absolutely failed now.
