Also trimming your armpit hair can make a giant difference. I get a ton of hair on my armpits and if I don’t trim the hair down then it makes it harder for my deodorant to fully get on my armpits. Once I started trimming the hair down my armpits rarely smell after showering and putting deodorant on. Also, I use the spray now instead of the stick (but the stick will probably still work too) and when I put it on I move my arm/arm-pit around in a circular motion so it rubs in better or properly, that might help you out too.

For me it was the opposite. Having less hair made my armpits sweat more and the smell was atrocious. Plus shaving darkened my skin and made it get thicker over time.

I spent the last two years trying everything under the sun to treat my armpit smell. I was confused because no other parts of my body smelled at all. Only my armpits. It caused me anxiety in all social situations my whole life. I’m 29. Dude. I tried antibacterial soap the other week on my armpits? I’m cured. Middle school I was so embarrassed playing sports. High school I was ashamed of myself in gym class. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS USE ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP? I was convinced I was allergic to certain deodorants or antiperspirants. I thought I was allergic to certain soaps. I thought it was something I was eating. I tried expensive deodorants costing over 20 dollars. I tried using different toners, special medicated washes. All I had to do was use antibacterial soap. Yesterday I used the antibacterial soap in the morning and didn’t put on deodorant just as an experiment. NO SMELL AT ALL. I was to scream from the rooftops and tell everybody this discovery I’ve made. I had seriously disgusting smelling sweat. To me it smelled like cat pee. Uck. 🤢 I was watching CZcams videos, reading articles that made me feel like crap because they would say I’m not washing myself properly or long enough. I’ve taken 2 showers a day my whole life. And depending on the weather I have to take 3. I was counting to 30 seconds on each armpit pretty much scrubbing it raw sometimes with soap a few times per shower. Antibacterial soap has changed my life. Okay rant over.

My armpits started to stink at puberty and since then I haven't found a product or a method that would work for me. It's a miracle if antiperspirants eliminate the odor but the ✨moist✨ is always there. Deodorants won't do a thing. I've tried them all: cheap ones, pricey ones, natural, goddamn radioactive, sprays, rolls, crystals, cremes - EVERYTHING. And I know that I do it right: after a good shower, after shaving, waiting for armpits to be completely dry, waiting for them to dry after applying the product, and doing all of this before bed. BUT IT DOESN'T FREAKING HELP. I'M SO DAMN TIRED OF THIS.

  • @EstiSara

Not mentioned here but pH plays a HUGE role in body odor. More sweat causes pH to become more alkaline and that creates a very hospitable environment for bacteria to grow. More acidic products will create an inhospitable one. This is the reason some people get really bad body odor after a spray tan, because of the pH of the tanning ingredients. If you REALLY want to kick the b.o. try using a pH balancing toner and then deodorant, treating with a glycolic acid toner is ok too as long as you don't develop irritation.

If I talk to anyone I sweat, if I talk on the phone I sweat, if I am doing any kind of interacting I sweat. I can take a shower and still smell right out of the shower because it's like my armpits are sweaty the entire time I am awake unless I am completely alone. I'm thinking of replacing my 3 shampoos and various antibacterial soaps of varying smells/irritation/efficacy (🥲) I've bought over the years with just a sulphur/salicylic acid soap bar, with ethosulfate in it as smell control so I don't smell like rotten eggs, lol.
I was hesitant to do that bc if that doesn't work, I'd have to work around that curveball and somehow keep all my stuff, which I can't do because I have to pack everything up to move into a limited space, but now I have a backup plan!

if you have a clean diet the sweat doesn't stink. From what I understand body needs to sweat for maintaining body temperature . Cutting down meat (or stopping altogether ) helps with body odor. Don't believe it ? try it .Cut down any meat for one week and see for yourself (btw all organic meat and farm fed and free-range and what not also included) .You should see a noticeable reduction. I did not have to buy deodorant in the last 10 years since going 100% veg and my clothes don't stink at all( even though I AM guilty of skipping a shower every now and then ). However, I must also mention that I do occasionally use coconut oil which is supposed to be anti-bacterial and hence must help in the whole smell causing bacteria situation and in my country, there is not much trend of eating too much junk or packaged item (yet however it is def on rise). Not a heavy drinker of coffee either although I do enjoy the Indian tea twice a day.

That's not necessarily a good thing but I can get by my slathering and a good cheap body oil and showering every three or four days instead of every day. Just shower once a day and use deodorant. It has worked for generations. If it doesn’t work for you, or you cannot do one or both of these things, see a doctor. I’m so over this trend of showing like 2-3 times a week, tops. Everyone says ‘I don’t smell,’ but I haven’t met anyone like this who actually doesn’t. If your skin is getting dry, ask a dermatologist for soap and lotion recommendations, or something. If you look messy, people don’t have to look. If you stink, people can’t jus not breathe around you, and while most people are understanding if there’s a reason you can’t bathe and wear deodorant, like homelessness, plumbing issues, and more serious medical conditions like having surgery, your odor affects them. Most people hopping on this trend get normal amounts of dry skin in the winter that can be treated with otc lotion and not making the water as hot.
