3:17 I have looked up that article and I think an important caveat there is _unopened._ Lots of things can be kept for quite long as long as you don't open them, but once you expose them to the outside air, all bets are off.
That being said, it is true that the sell by-date says little about the edibility of a product. As the name implies, it's the date stores want to sell the product by to avoid _any_ risk of selling something spoiled, but in most cases, it could take quite a bit longer for it to actually spoil.
And things can spoil BEFORE the sell by date once opened.
That happened to some milk we had once. I can tell when it's going to turn 2 days before it actually spoils (I can taste it) and people were, "it has 4 days before it'll go bad, look, there's the date". Well 2 days after I said it would spoil soon, guess what? It went bad. Sell by dates are guidelines, not rules.
wait.. does milk and otehr stuff not have the Reminder of "if opend use in X days?" on the package as well.. becuase if its opend it will spoil WAY faster?.... its on milk etc in germany..(but we also dont have a "Sell by" but only a best before date which realy only indicates to which point the manufacture can guarentee that the product wont have spoiled in a sealed package, which is also the date Shops use to determen whatever they will throw it away(becuase if they sell something after the BBD and it actualy DID go bad they are in trouble)@@No1AldamonFanGirl

Most perishables only have a "sell by" or "best used until" date here in America (those two labels seem to be interchangeable here) and I've only seen an "if opened please use in X days" on things like Pedisure electrolyte drinks or things I KNOW were imported. (Because I checked out out a fancy pants "upper class" grocery store once out of curiosity. Didn't buy anything - it was all way overpriced for poorer quality than properly made stuff made from scratch. ...And I sounded like my late grandma there, Bubbie, stop making me channel you!)

Fun fact the reason why Photoshop files take up way more space is that they use pixels, were illustrator use something called vectors which are just fancy math equation making them much more compact.
Combined with layers and transforms and edits, Photoshop stores a lot of information.
This is the crucial difference. What matters is not the size of a file but what kind of art do you do, pixel based or vector. What good will it be to have smaller file if you're not comfortable with using vectors? But it's good to know ahead that with pixel kind you'll need more storage.

3:18 Yeeeah, not _too_ long though - I have actually tasted expired milk that was just previous-to-tasting thus far still factory sealed and in the fridge, and it tasted so bitingly sour I actually gagged. Milk _will_ eventually go...well, if not technically bad, then at least nauaeatingly undrinkable. And at some point, turn into cottage cheese - because that's how cottage cheese was invented: by milk going 'bad' enough to get lumpy, but people still liked it. (It was probably fuller fat milk, since the sour milk I tried was fat free. SO I guess if your milk is fattier and has all its cream to sort of preserve its taste, you can keep it until it's lumpy and then just eat it as cheese.)

I don't usually keep food and drinks after it's expiration date. But I've learned that my coffee creamer was good even after a month after the experation date. It was opened once and kept in my mini fridge until I used it again. I kept caution up every time I used it, but it good. I was really surprised.

So I majored in chemistry in college and Piranha is no joke, but it is also extremely useful for cleaning up any form of byproduct when making polymers (plastics) because it will eat through practically anything that is not glass. Of course, you have to have like, super specific certifications to even be in the same room where it's being used.

I work for a safeway and that whole milk ordeal just sucks. We just pop the caps and DUMP... EVERYTHING. It smelt good after a while because it wasn't expired milk... but you can't help but feel terrible that all of that is going to waste.

Fun Fact: a kid at the elementary school I clean drank spoiled milk and threw up on the carpet! The smell was very difficult to get out (I used distilled vinegar) and extremely unpleasant. Drinking spoiled milk is probably not worth it. Sure, the kid didn't die, but she and I both had a very bad day.

The milk thing is only partially true
Yes pasteurization kills the harmful bacteria in the milk, but it's not guaranteed to get all of them (a single bacteria will eventually replace all the dead ones), and even if it did, it's still possible for more to get into the milk after it's been opened
It should also be noted that a sell by or best by date is _not an expiration date_ "sell by dates" are the day the store can no longer sell the product (they don't expect you to consume the product the day you buy it) and "best by" dates are what the company that makes it has determined to be the day it can no longer be considered fresh, when something expires is based on the conditions it's stored in
I've had milk after it's best by date, it _is_ safe up to a point, but not indefinitely, especially if it's been opened already, it will eventually become unsafe to consume, but if it's just a few day over, as long as it's stored under proper conditions, you should be fine, worst case is some gas
