    15- 1972 is still better
14- Better than her winning song
    13- Awesome!!! I like it
12- Not bad. Didn't deserved last
    11- Alright
10- I am the only one who like this song
9- Awful look but the song is alright
8- I like it but not my top 10
7- Awesome!!! I love this one
6- Deserved to be top 5
    5- Awesome!!!
    4- Alright
3- My winner. Italy's best entry in 1980s
2- Good but average winner and some songs are better than this
1- Awesome!!! I like this one but the chorus reminds me of UK 1972

Thank you so much for the 5th place! We were so underrated that year... And that song is actually really famous here in NL :p Also good top, though I'd swap Denmark and Portugal and Sweden and Ireland :P

This is the first ESC I remember watching! It was a good year, without any major dislikes so I'd be totally okay with any ranking. My fave is Netherlands followed by Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, UK and Finland. Granted Sophie Carle's live performance was a trainswreck but Luxembourg's studio version is so much better.

    • @surprisedadrianlol

She had a sound return problem so that she couldn't hear the orchestra when she performed, some have thought that RTL sabotaged their host performance to guarantee them not winning again.
Aside from that, the orchestra did a really great job advancing it to the tempo she sang in.

I also feel that this song from the Netherlands sounds reminiscent of Brenda Lee's "Losing You" from 1963. All three of these songs are great. Maribelle did a wonderful job, and this entry has become one of my favorite Eurovision tunes. Glad to see it in the Top 5 songs on this list since it sadly didn't crack the Top 10 at the actual contest.

As someone who understands dutch i think this song sucks, specially the lyrics. It s basically what someone whitout any language or poetic skills would write. "I love you, only you, i can not live in a world without you". That s the refrain.

Thank you for your praise of Belle and the Devolutions I've always liked that song and they used to play it at my school discos but it always gets crapped on by commentators because it hasn't dated well and the, admittedly so bloody awful even the mid 80s the decade that taste forgot thought were tacky, outfits have stood the test of time even less so. I've always loved the Norwegian entry too and have fond memories of them shaking their bums with great gusto in the rudimentary music video - they are certainly living the lyrics and it's a joy to behold. Finland I forgot but yeah that's a bop too - a lot of fun songs this year that are so 80s but so enjoyable that you easily forgive them for it. You're right Denmark is a bouncy song well sung. I think my personal fav is Norway - I just love their energy - though but there's not much in it .

I love the original golden shoes! Sweden is my absolute winners. I don't mind the lyrics at all. It just adds more charm to the song somehow. The performance was great, the voices, The Herreys in general.. Best song. My nr #2 was Italy and I also like Spain, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands (and no, you're not the only one who thinks it sounds like Tarzan's you'll be in my heart. I think that too!) and Denmark
And I agree about Ireland! It's good but nothing more. 2nd place was overrated in my view
